Adrain's POV

I was so surprised by the guts of Tyler and Alicia, he had come here to take my bride away from me that would never happen, after all what he had to to her he thinks he still has a chance with her.

"So what are you planning to do now?" I asked her trying to know her decision.

"I'm not ready to get married now but I would be happy if you could engage me right now so the people won't question our relationship" she said looking apologetic.

I felt a bit hurt by her words but I brushed it off, I knew it wasn't easy for her to accept all the changes that happened in her life.

She needs time to be able to adjust to all the things that happened and the ways of my pack.

"If that's what you want, I would readily accept it" I replied her watching the way she smiled. It felt like the world melted around me after her smile.

It was the forced one she gave when she first came here but a genuine and cool smile that enhance her beauty.

"You look more beautiful with this smile on" I said to her making her blush a bit.

"I need to excuse myself Alpha, I need to use the restroom." She said leaving me behind.

I watch her go remembering the feeling of her walking into the party this evening she was looking for beautiful and elegant in her dress.

I picked the color red for her for this purpose, it's a way of telling her enemies that she came back with boldness, power and strength this time around and she won't be intimidated by anyone of them.

She walked back in her expression changing a bit but she covered it up.

"Is there any problem?" I asked her.

"No alpha" she said unable to meet my eyes. I felt a bit confused wanting to press more on the matter but I was interrupted by the mc.

"It's now time for the alpha and his to be queen grace is with their dance moves" the mc said receiving an applaud from everyone.

I looked at Elysia expectantly but she sat there looking a bit lost and disrupted.

"There no need to be nervous I'm her with you" I said to her bringing he out of her thoughts.

Noticing all eyes was on her she took my hand going to the dance floor.

We swirled to the slow music our bodies moving in a sync, she danced really gratefully warming my heart.

"Is there something on you mind that you are not telling me?" I asked surprised by her sudden change in behavior.

It seems like she had seen a ghost in the restroom or something.

"Hmm... No... Can I ask you this" she said stuttering a bit and sounding really nervous.

"Did you have any mistress before me or something?" She asked looking serious even though she looked away from meeting my eyes.

I kept quiet not wanting to talk about the topic pulling away from the dance floor as soon as the music ended.

"I'm sorry, I would have to leave now" I said to her excusing myself.

As I walked away from the dance floor, Elysia's question lingered in my mind. How did she know about Mia? I hadn't told anyone about my past, especially not about the night that changed everything.

Memories flooded my mind, and I couldn't help but feel a wave of disgust and regret. The night I lost control, the night I killed Mia. It was a moment of madness, a moment that haunted me for years.

I remembered the look in Mia's eyes, the fear and the pain. She was my mistress, my lover, and I had loved her. But in that moment, I was a monster, driven by my illness, my darkness.

She had came to me because she was worried about my illness yet I couldn't recognize her I kill her by snapping her neck not listening to her pleading.

I was only thinking about the pain I was feeling and I killed someone I claimed to love, I ended her life in a minute and that was why I became desperate to find a cure for this illness to be able to free myself from this curse and I found Elysia my damnation yet my savior.

I had stayed celibate for years, pushing away any woman who dared to get close. I was afraid of hurting them, afraid of losing control again. And now, Elysia's question brought it all back.

How did she know about Mia? And what would she think if she knew the truth about me? I couldn't tell her about my illness, about the monster that lurked within me. I was afraid of her reaction, afraid of losing her.

As I walked to my chambers, I couldn't shake off the feeling that Elysia was getting closer to the truth. And I wasn't sure if I was ready for that.

What if she finds out about everything and leaves me then I would be left with this life threatening illness.

Mia face, her smile, the way she called my name they all came rushing back. I was a monster, I ended her life when all she wanted from me was love. She cared about me yet I was the one who took her life away.

I could never forgive myself for doing that, I had kept everyone at arms length yet Elysia was able to break to my walls.

And I might lose her again, I have no idea of how to make her understand everything without tell her the truth about my illness.

Would she believe me, would she trust what ever I say and still want to get engage to me. All this question ran through my mind but the only conclusion I could come to is she needs to know the truth.
