Chapter 42

Thompson's pov

Her scents flooded stronger into the room with the door creaking open. I didn't turn yet, waiting to hear the door shut.

“Thompson?’’ She called out, frightened and uncertain.

Of course it was me. Who else could she expect?

I tilted my head back to regard her. Her bed lamps still operated on high alert since she wasn't in bed yet. It provided just enough light to read the expression on her face.

She breathed out in relief, shutting the door eventually but without any attempt to step forward.

“You scared me.’’ She said,

“I did?’’ I chuckled. Probably, since she didn't expect anyone she must have been startled. Plausible.

I turned fully to her. “What are you doing?’’

‘‘What?’’ She looked around confusedly.

‘‘Why are you standing there?’’ I pointed out.

“Oh.’’ She stepped a bit forward. “It's just…I thought you had something to talk about?’’

I keep getting these feelings that she was somewhat strange. Her attitude, her aura, and even her behaviour. She

Chapter 121CYRIL’S povI knew I was eventually going to make Liah leave with a maid no matter what, as it was a rare chance that might not repeat. But I didn't expect it to work out so easily. She took the maids hand without much talk. “I'll go with them.’’ Adrian rang out of the blues.Did the goddess finally see my bleeding heart? “Sure. Join them.’’ I smiled, genuinely, for the first time since I've had to deal with them. Alessia fell back on the sofa with a loud sigh once they were out of sight. “I'm sorry. Are they so much stress on you?”“I heard you insisted on bringing them along yourself. Help me here cause I'm lost!’’ I wasn't having it.‘‘They wanted to come with me….’’A heavy scoff heaved off my lips. “Just that? You're fine with the way they keep flocking around us? For how long will I have to keep up with that?’’‘‘Please calm down, Liah won't be staying long.’’ She appealed. Speaking of Liah, they'd be back pretty soon and it wouldn't be good for me if I allowed

Chapter 120CYRIL’S POV Indebtedness? He was really bringing up indebtedness right now?‘‘You don't think I deserve some level of indebtedness from you as well for saving your pack of its dire debts?’’ I scoffed, in utter disbelief. “That wasn't for free, we both know the price you did that for. And you're even asking for a refund!’’ “I'm giving you a chance to pay in installments, I thought you should be grateful for that.’’ I mocked. A knock came in just then, and Alan walked inbefore I even approved. “They are here.’’ He reported. “I will not tolerate any sort of mockery from you. You're the shameless one here who slept with….’’ “That's enough Thompson. Call me again tomorrow, I should be available to have this banter then.’’ I disconnected the call, getting to my feet. “Your robe…’’ Alan pointed. “Where are they?’’ I asked as I reached for the robe, flying it over my shoulders. “They just drove in, they should step in in about two minutes.’’ He acknowledged, following a

Chapter 119CYRIL’S POVOnce Alessia informed me last night that they'll be arriving today, I'd remained restless with anticipation. I needed everything to be perfect. From the decoration of the mansion to the preparation of the various dishes to be served and most importantly, consistency of the invited instrumentalists. “Isn't all these a bit too much?’’ Alan said as we watched the event stylists doing their magic.“What is?’’ I turned to him with a slight frown. He'd just pricked my ego. “Alright let's say this is fine.’’ He waved at the roses and ribbons. “What's with the instrumentalists? I think that's too extreme.’’“What is too extreme about it?’’ I insisted. “I mean we could just put on nice soft music on the speakers, it doesn't have to be a live event. That can wait until her official coronation.’’ “Hmm…’’ I hummed, thinking deeply into his suggestion. My phone vibrated sharply in my robe pocket and I excused myself to take it once I saw Alessia's name on the screen.

  • Fated for the Lycan   ONE LAST FAVOR

Chapter 118Alessia's povI lifted my gaze from filing my nails at the sound of footsteps approaching. Behold, Thompson! But what caught my attention was the brown envelope in his grip, my gaze stayed fixed on it until he dropped it on the glass center table before me. His countenance as he did gave out the idea. Finally, the divorce papers! It'd been three days already since we agreed, yet each day during those three days, he returned home empty handed. I picked up the file, unwrapping the seal to check the content. ‘‘The disqualification of membership…..’’ “It's in there as well.’’ He cut in, his face in a deep scowl. I swallowed nothing as I focused on the papers, taking them out to read their contents. The first with the headlines written in bold red shade, Divorce Agreement Contract. And the next had as its headlines, Termination of Membership contract. “Phew!’’ I huffed, and only realised what my exclamation could mean to Thompson afterwards. But the truth was the truth

Chapter 117Alessia's povHe turned to me. Simply gazes fussing and no words. Well actually I waited for him to speak first but it didn't seem like he'd make attempts any time soon. I cleared my throat, shoving the fact that he was only in boxers behind my mind. I forgot my initial resolve, faced with a new situation. I swallowed nothing. ‘‘What is this?’’ “What do you think?’’ He moved a step. “I think you've lost your mind. Get dressed and meet me downstairs.’’ I shut the door before he made any funny move, rushing downstairs with my heart in my mouth. Phew!Had he gone nuts or something? I looked up when I heard noise on the stairs and behold, Thompson on his way downstairs. He stood still watching me. “What are you doing, get down here.’’ I snapped a bit. “You left before I could say anything.’’ He said, but at least he moved. “Should you really talk about that right now?’’ I rolled my eyes. “You cheated on me with him. Irrespective of the fact that he's your mate, you w

  • Fated for the Lycan   THE MEETING

Chapter 116Alessia's povI couldn't believe my eyes as I trailed my gaze from Thompson's head down to his legs. He had a common polo and shorts on, with a pair of bedroom footwears.“You are not dressed?’’ I gassed! “You have somewhere to take me?’’ He asked back.I couldn't understand if he was being ignorant right now, but I chose to shove my thoughts behind anyway. “The elders will be here in less than thirty minutes, you wouldn't want me to spill the whole thing to them where you're in here laying down.’’ I wore a smirk. ‘‘You called for them?’’ He sounded like he couldn't believe his ears. I shrugged. “I did.”“Are you that much in a hurry to leave?’’“Get dressed and join us at the courtroom.” I turned away and headed out.One by one, the elders came in, each acknowledging my presence and offering his pleasantries as he came in. I kept glancing into my wristwatch, expecting Thompson's entrance every passing minute. But each time someone made an entry, it was an elder. Th
