By noon, the council had been summoned.

Alpha Jack Richardson and Daniel arrived under escort, confused—but not yet afraid.

They stood before the full Allied Tribunal—a rare council formed after wars, for the gravest crimes against the packs.

Troy sat at Daisy’s side—not as a mate, but as High Alpha of Blackpine. Kalen stood as witness. The old seer, now free from Bernard’s chains, was brought forward, his eyes hollow from years of madness.

The scroll was placed on the tribunal altar.

Jack frowned. “What is this about? My son and I answered your summons in good faith—”

“Silence,” Alpha Diana said. Her voice rang with power that stopped the room cold.

“You will speak only when addressed. You stand accused of treason, conspiracy, and regicide.”

Gasps. Murmurs.

Daniel paled. “This is absurd—”

“You plotted to kill Alpha Miller and his Luna, my parents,” Daisy said. “You conspired with Bernard to install me as your puppet queen. You orchestrated a massacre and made me believe the threat c

The world did not wait.Within two days of their return to Blackpine, the whispers had spread like wildfire. That a child—young, golden-eyed, and wrapped in prophecy—had been found in the ancient Temple of First Howls. That his blood burned with something older than the oaths that held pack law together. And most damning of all:That Alpha Diana, the Masked Alpha of the Twilight Pack, and the Luna of Alpha Troy of the Blackpine Pack, was harboring him.Daisy stood atop the eastern battlements, the wind wild in her hair, the full moon casting light across the pine-covered hills. Below, the allied forces of the High Ridge Coalition gathered at the border—four packs strong. Their flags rippled with challenge.“They’re not here to negotiate,” Kalen muttered from her right.“They’re here to take him,” Troy finished. His eyes burned with barely restrained fury.Inside the keep, Elian slept fitfully, guarded by ten of Daisy’s best warriors. His presence made the stones hum. The flames in the

The flames devoured Bernard’s body before dawn.Diana stood in silence as the sky turned crimson. Troy beside her, Kalen behind them, and dozens of warriors from Blackpine, Twilight, and Stonefang lining the execution field in solemn ranks. No one wept. No one protested.Bernard’s crimes had been many. His ashes would feed no earth. His name would be struck from every record, his memory devoured by silence. And yet…His final words refused to die. “I hope the boy screams… when he learns what he truly is.”Even as smoke spiraled toward the heavens, Diana could feel it. A shadow left behind, unseen. A thread pulling at her instincts as Alpha… and as something more ancient. She turned to Troy as the flames hissed their final breath.“We have to find the boy, " she said." I have a sense of foreboding about this". He nodded. He would do anything for her. So, they started on their trip to finding the child, the boy - her cousin sister's son who Bernard had taken and hidden away, somewher

Third Person POVThe truth did not come with a shout. It was through thorough investigation. Troy was determined to get to the root of it all. He sent out his men to investigate and he did some digging himself. He wanted to clear his name in every way possible and the fire of truth he had immersed himself in was not enough as far as he was concerned. He couldn't have Diana doubting him. He loved her too much for that. Troy stood in the war chamber of the rebuilt Blackpine Keep, staring down at the scroll in his hand. His knuckles were white. Kalen paced beside him, his expression dark.“It’s not just damning,” Kalen muttered. “It’s… monstrous.”Troy didn’t respond at first. What he had in his hand was a detailed confession of some of Bernard's men. Not only of how Black pine but the calculated murder of Alpha Miller and his Luna—Daisy’s parents. But Bernard hadn’t acted alone.Daniel Richardson, once meant to be Daisy’s mate by royal arrangement, had orchestrated the plot with his

I felt her absence before the sun rose.Daisy had vanished with the dawn, her scent faded from the keep’s western corridor. The pendant—the one carrying my mother’s final message—lay untouched by our shared bedside.I knew something was wrong. I felt it in my bones. I felt it in my blood. In the way the bond between us thinned, wavered, as if a blade hovered at its throat. For hours, I scoured the grounds, questioned guards, even summoned Kalen from the northern watch. I was that anxious. But no one had seen her.Until Kalen returned from the outer perimeter, his face grim.“She was at the edge of the Twilight territory,” he said. “Kneeling beneath the moon tree.”My heart sank. “That’s where her parents—” I started, suddenly scared, wondering what could have happened to make her go there. “Were laid to rest, yes,” Kalen finished quietly. “And she left something behind", he continued. From his satchel, he pulled out a scroll. Sealed in wax. Still warm.I took it with trembling f

As she walked away this time without looking back and the fool kept looking after her, a look of murderous rage in his eyes, I stepped out and walked up to him."The lady has made herself clear. She wants nothing more to do with the likes of you, scram!" I said."Who are you and who invited you to oke nose I to my business?" he asked, still raw from Daisy's Rejection. Had he actually thought Daisy would accept him back?"Look closely, fool", I said as I gave him a punch on the nose.He had raised his head and looked directly into my eyes when I asked him to look closely at who he was speaking with and it was when recognition dawned on him that I gave him the punch and flung my hand, trying to flex it for another punch."I'm sorry, Alpha Troy", he said, going down on his knees. "I didn't realize it was you. I was so angry just now that I didn't look closely.""Who are you to pester my mate?" I asked."I wouldn't dare", he replied, raising his hands in surrender. "I didn't know she was
