KAEL.

Night drew near so fast, my heart racing with anticipation, Sera held my hand, slowly massaging it, I could feel my nerves getting soothed.

“You can do this.” She whispered into my ears, slowly knotting my tie.

“Thank you.” I muttered under my breath. I was all set to meet the rest of Rendrel pack. Sera was already dressed in a long black strapless gown, her brown hair cascaded down her back, with a red gloss neatly applied on her lips.

She was breathtakingly beautiful, her beauty will probably outshine the entire world. I locked my gaze with her, not ready to let go. I just want to melt into her embrace and be trapped there forever.

“Kael, it’s time.” Grandma said from behind, she was standing with Mum and Kenia who stared at me with pride glinting in their eyes.

“Let’s go.” I whispered to Sera, and together we all came downstairs. The Members were slowly arriving in the house. Each one was being guided to their various positions in the chamber.

KAEL. Today is the day I will be addressing the members of Rendrel pack, I don’t know how to feel about it. Neither excited nor sad, it feels overwhelming. “Are you okay?.” Sera asked from behind me, her voice laced with worry. “I don’t know. What if I’m not ready to do it?. What if—.”“There’s no what if, we are in this together and I know you will be a good Alpha to your people. Just take a deep breath and chant this — I can do it.” Sera said, her words pacifying me. After taking few breaths with my eyes closed, “I can do it.” I said out loud and I could feel a rush of adrenaline flowing through my veins, my body being relatively calm. I opened my eyes staring deep into Sera’s brown eyes, I smiled widely, she is my source of strength, the perfect blend of a woman who mirrors you, knowing when to soothe your soul and give you peace. “Thank you.” I muttered softly, she pulled me into a hug, I melted into her warmth, breathing in her sweet scent of lavender. “You’re welc

KAEL. Sera’s parents are downstairs making plans for the wedding, I stood at the balcony watching them keenly, her mum occasionally glanced at me, giving me a glare but she was the least of my worries. My gaze swept around the sitting room, searching for the one person that made this preparation almost a success— Sera. “Hey.” Sera whispered behind me, and I turned around slowly. “Hi.” I managed to say, a bright smile plastering on my lips. “You going down?.” She asked and I shook my head negatively. “Our presence isn’t needed. Let’s just watch from here.” I said, taking her hand into mine. We watched our families talk, deliberately on how the wedding ceremony would be arranged, after few hours, we were called upon to meet them. “After you Milady.” I gestured with my hand and a bow, she chuckled and walked ahead of me. I was happy with the positive energy Sera was giving, no frown, no anger. Just happy smiles. This was what I have been looking forward to, spen

“Oh Becca my dear, how are you enjoying our little room?.” Elias voice rang out in the darkness.Rebecca lifted her head up from the ground, her eyes were dim, blood drained from it, her face pale and body weak, she had been starved for days with no food and little water to keep her hydrated.“Elias.” Her voice came out as a whisper.“Yes Milady.” Elias answered, his voice came out as a mockery.“Why?.” She muttered under a shaky breath, trying to get up from the ground but fell back in a loud thud and groaned out at the impact.&ldq

SERA. I finally found the Hollow veil. I thought it will take about msix months under the blood moon to locate it, I don’t know how to feel. Happy—No. Sad—No.Peaceful—No. Just blank but not empty, the weight of the world rests on my shoulders, millions of lives that will be lost soon in this battle made my stomach churn. My heart was pounding in guilt, I closed my eyes, resting my head on the steering wheel for a brief moment. Taking a five seconds count, my breathing became steady. I raised my head from the steering, turning the car around and drove into my apartment. It’s been two days since I left the house and I didn’t bother on checking up on my parents and they didn’t bother calling, not like I’m their favorite daughter—Thalia. I scoffed. Thalia’s memory flashed into my mind, I haven’t thought of her in a long time, a mix of sadness and anger clouded my heart. I have been hiding under her shadow for years and now, I don’t know anymore. I can’t continue bei

SERA. “Where’s this place?.” I asked no one in particular, The vision came in silence, no sound—just a stillness that wrapped me like mist. One moment I was lying on the couch in the hospital, then a room filled with dim flickering candle lights, and the next, the world folded inward. I blinked multiple times, trying to adjust my eyes to the new scene in front of me. The air was different. Heavy, but sweet. All around me, the land was gray— neither night nor day, just shifting fog and hollow wind. Trees loomed with pale bark like bone, and beneath my bare feet, the earth pulsed faintly, like it remembered something long buried. Ahead, a cave yawned open in the cliffside— Hollow Veil. I didn’t know how I knew the name. I just did. As if the syllables were etched in my blood. The entrance shimmered faintly with silver mist. The kind that didn’t belong in nature. Then I heard it. A voice—not loud, not frightening, but —ancient, Worn with age, and carved from the bones o
