I took a risk I should not have taken.

If I had let Seline believe that I was behind everything, it would have solidified her hatred for me. It was what I wanted all along. But to see that hurt in her eyes, that bitterness and defeat that I was capable of something like this, it drove me insane.

The other problem was her closeness to that Alpha.

The fact that he was the one who convinced Seline that I was trying to frame her made me even more cautious of him. I don’t trust him, and now I know there is something cooking in that brain of his.

But then, he doesn’t know the investigation I’ve been conducting, trying to clear Seline’s name. While the pack elders are adamant it’s her who murdered Marsha, their own reasoning more than obvious, I have managed to collect enough evidence to prove it wasn’t her. The mayor was surprisingly helpful with this effort.

And that’s the evidence I gave to her an hour ago that made her face go pale.
