He really did believe her!

I couldn’t believe it. It had always been me convincing him that she wasn’t a problem. Up until the truth came out, I had defended her all the way. And just like that, our roles had been reversed. And I couldn’t let go.

“You have to try Lilah.” He tells me again as we get ready for bed.

“It’s not that easy.”

“I remember when I was telling you the same thing. You used to tell me to relax. Now, if I were to say that to you. How would you react?”

I roll my eyes at him

“Exactly. We need to look at the bigger picture.”

I couldn’t believe he was using my own words against me.

“Shut up, Colt.”

“Really, Lilah. Can we not be adults about this?”

“It wasn’t that long ago that I was worried about you hunting me down.” I mutter

“And what does that have to do with this?”

“I’m just saying so much has changed.” I sigh

He leans in through the bathroom door, watching me brush my teeth. “You’re right. We have a son. I bet you never saw that coming?” He half smiles at me

ok Aiden needs to stop before he's older than his parents. his mom is what 19 or 20 if and he's already a teenager with a 4yr old mentality?
