. **Bella's POV**

“Well, well. Luna Bella?” I turned around to find myself face to face with the Alpha King. He exuded power and mystery. His black hair was tousled as if he had run his hands through it numerous times, or perhaps a woman had. His enigmatic blue eyes scanned me up and down.

“I’m sorry, Alpha King. I got lost. I should go,” I said, attempting to walk away. He firmly grabbed my arm, forcing me to stay in place. I stared down at his hand still holding me. “I suggest you unhand me, King Hudson. My mate is very possessive.” He chuckled and let go of me.

“With a woman like you, I think I would be as possessive as well.” His eyes roamed down my face and body. I recognized that look of uninvited interest, one I often caught from men. I sidestepped him and continued toward the garden.

“I wanted to let you know that I accept. I will release the prisoners as you requested once the competition is over.” I stopped. Could he really be serious? I hadn’t considered it much before,
