Chapter 82

Bella's POV

Arona had been ranting non-stop about the competition's theme. Instead of trying to work out a solution, she became increasingly unreasonable. I could be patient and accommodating, but I draw the line where my child is concerned. For my child, I don't care who I cross, nor do I think about the consequences. My child is untouchable.

The slap made a satisfying sound against her cheek. Her face contorted with shock as she cupped her cheek in disbelief.

"How dare you, you bitch!!" Arona threw herself at me. But I was prepared. Claws out and everything. My eyes flashed, ready to rip the skin off of her face if necessary.

"Don't!" A loud growl startled me. Chad?! Before I could even react, I was out of harm's way. Chad had put himself between us. Arona's claws ripped into Chad's back. Alpha King Hudson and the masked guard appeared out of nowhere, restraining Arona and putting her out of Chad's reach.

"Chad!!" I bellowed. His back was dripping with blood, but he was s
