Chad's POV

I was blinded by rage when I saw Hendrick cupping Bella's face, ready to kiss her. I knew she was upset, I felt it. I went straight to her room, looking for her. When I didn't find her, I knew instantly where she was. I stormed my way to Hendricks's room, not expecting to find such a scene. I knew long ago he had developed feelings for her. Cobalt was enraged as I was. I lunged myself at Hendrick with an overpowering thirst for blood.

Bella tried to stop me, but Cobalt saw Hendrick as a threat. We were practically the same person. It was a given that Bella could be attracted to him as well. Cobalt wanted to eliminate that thread. My rage turned to despair when I saw her kneeling on the floor. My heart leaped to my throat as I registered the blood running down her legs. I scooped her in my arms and ran towards the pack's hospital.

"Chad, it hurts!!" She clutched her stomach desperately. Her beautiful face was constricted with pain and marred with overflowing tears.
