Bella's POV

The piercing coldness of the urn with my son's ashes hurt my skin. I kissed it before placing it next to my father's. Chad touches my shoulder once I step back after leaving the tiny urn in its niche. We moved away to let Jasper have a moment as well. He had tried to talk to me before, but Chad's aura was like a barrier around me.

I couldn't breathe but clung to Chad as if he were my lifeline. Maybe I was destined to never become a mother.
