"Why are you doing this to me, mother?" I asked her and she immediately dismissed my help, who walked away without fuss.

She turned to me. "What exactly do you mean, Ashlyn?" She asked. She was being pretentious and I knew it.

"This, mother. You cannot claim to be oblivious to what's happening. This forced marriage." I said to her in despair.

She walked closer to me. "Eli has confessed his feelings for you, Ashlyn, my darling. He'd love you and care for you." She replied d, holding my face so sweetly and unable to see my pain or rather pretending not to.

"What about me, mother? It takes two to tango. I do not love him and I never will." I said to her.

"You'd learn to. Love comes after marriage." She said. I took her hands away from my face.

"What happened to you, mother?" I asked her with sadness in my voice. "I'm your only daughter, yet you do not treat me like a prized possession. I'm your only replica and yet you throw me into the arms of a man not worthy of me." I said to her, anger etched in my tone.

"He is worthy of you. You should not be saying otherwise." She said, staring at me. What was she trying to say? That I was lucky getting married to Eli and I was not worthy of being with him?

"You married father out of love, mother. Why cannot I do the same?" I questioned her with pain in my heart and in my eyes.

She straightened her back and her expression was replaced with the stony look she always had on as the Lady of the Clutch. That's us, vampires.

"Eli awaits you." She said and I knew that stated end of the discussion as she walked away. I sighed and wiped a tear from my eyes. It was time to get this over with.

I walked out of my room and down the stairs and there was Eli standing by the foot of the stairs. He took my hand in his and placed a kiss on it.

"You still look as beautiful as the horizon in the sky." He said with a smile that did not reach his eyes. What a pretentious swine!

"Shall we get this melodramatic day over with?" I asked, speaking rudely to him.

His hand immediately squeezed my fragile one hard and I gasped. I felt my bones breaking. "Learn not to speak to me in such manner ever again." He said and I squirmed at the impact of his hand as tears stung my eyes.

Just then, I heard a clearing of a voice. I turned to see Darius leaning on the wall. Eli followed the direction of my eyes and the moment he saw him, he let go of my hand. Darius instilled fear in him. He turned on a fake smile.

He knew how much my brother cared for me. He knew it was best not to anger him for my sake.

"Darius," he said, charmingly. "I was just complimenting your sister on her beautiful looks." He said, his face all full of smiles.

How much more of a chameleon could he be? I wondered, rolling my eyes.

Darius raised a finger to stop him from going further. "Spare me the details," he said crudely as he walked closer to us.

Eli moved away to give us space or perhaps in fear of what Darius could do to him.

I shook my head at Darius. "I do not want to go," I muttered to him, trying to hold back my tears.

He held my face lovingly. "Go, Ash. But, I promise you, this will be your last outing with him. I'll ensure that." He promised.

"He tried to hurt me," I said, objecting to what he wanted.

"Do not go against my wishes, Ash, or do you not trust your brother anymore? Do you not believe in the brother and sister bond we share? Do you have a doubt that I cannot protect my own little sister?" He questioned with a little hurt in his eyes.

I placed a kiss on his forehead as I held his hand that held my face. I knew he'd do anything to protect me. This was now the time I was loving the fact that he was my brother. He was not like the rest of my brothers. He wanted to protect his little one and I was sure if there were two of us, he would do the same thing for us.

He closed his eyes. "Go." He ordered and I obeyed.

Eli was standing at the door when I walked up to him. He offered his hand to act like the perfect gentleman in front of Darius, but I walked right past him. I might be a weak vampire, but my self-respect mattered a lot to me. I walked towards the carriage and was helped into the carriage by one of the guards.

Yet again, I had become rude to him and only the good Lord knows if he will spare me.

"What did your brother say to you?" He asked me the moment he got into the carriage.

"You're a vampire, Eli. It would not be a shock to me if you heard the conversation between my brother and I. You must know already what he had said." I said curtly to him. I met his dangerous glare.

"I asked a question, Ashlyn, and I am not fond of repeating them. Tell me or I will force it out of you." He threatened.

I cowered a little bit, but straightened up, chin lifted, face up ahead. I was not about to let this lowlife ridicule me.

"If you must know, Eli, he promised to wipe your existence from the face of the earth completely if you do anything to hurt me more," I said to him.

From the corners of my eyes, I did not miss the shudder that went through him as he looked out the window. I curved a smile. My brother was not one to be toiled with. Once he makes an utterance, he makes it happen. He was a mean and silent killer.

It was not a lunch date, but a scenario of disaster. He literally mocked me for being a spineless vampire. All he did was want to enhance his ego by telling me what a favor he was doing for me. No one would want to be with a weak vampire. He made me understand that he was just getting married to me because of my father. I held myself strong and determined not to let this man see me cry.

"To hell with you." I spat at him and he grew angry. With one hand on my throat, he drove me to the wall.

I gasped as his hand tightened around my neck, choking me.

He smiled cynically. "Need I ask where that your brother who thinks highly of himself and threatens to wipe off my existence is if I touch you?" He asked, sneering at me. Tears gathered around my eyes. I was suffocating.

"Right here, Eli." I heard the unmistakable voice of Darius.

"Turn around," Darius said again, and I believed he was really there and I was not hearing things.

I saw a look of fear flash through Eli's eyes as he let go of me and I dropped to the floor.

He turned around to see Darius' blazing eyes and at a speed like that of lightning, Darius had him pinned on the wall. Never doubt a brother's love for his sister. I smirked.

  • Fated to the Lycan   Chapter sixty eight

Ashlyn's POV I had left the pack house earlier that morning to the river and that was when a shot was fired at me leaving me unconscious. I was regaining consciousness when I heard Lucifer renounce his position as the Laird and when Hawking had let his guard down and I took the chance to take the gun from him without wasting time, I fired the rifle. Hell let loose as bullets and arrows flew around. Lucifer transformed immediately and as an arrow was fired towards me, he stood in front of me, grabbing the arrow and breaking it into two before running over to the shooter to rip his head off. His comrades too had shifted and many of the pack warriors were coming out of the territory. The battle was fierce as the battalion of rebels took over fighting too. Lucifer ex mistresses all charged towards me and had also transformed into their forms except Sofia. Celine transformed into a werewolf and Sia, Juliette and Meredith transformed into Lycanthropes.I let Iona take control and shifte

Roselia's POV I heaved. It was time the Lady knew about the alpha. "Come with me, dear," I said motioning to her to follow me to my room. She did. We got to my room and I locked the door. "Come sit with me." I said holding her hand and leading her to the bed. We both sat down. She had curiosity written allover her. "It was forty decades ago when Queen Katrin, Lucifer's mother was married to Alpha Charles, Lucifer's father and I was her trusted and youngest servant. She was married to him for years without a child and when a decade passed without her still not carrying his child, she decided to go the extra mile just to get a child." I said to her. She stared at me paying rapt attention. "Another year passed again and when she could not get a child from the moon goddess, she went to the witches of the night to get one. That was how she got Lucifer." I said to her and she gasped in shock. "She told me that a pentagram was drawn and the witch she had gone to was a dark witch who co

Ashlyn's POV I sat on the ground in the study room crying my eyes out till noon. If I could believe that he had nothing to do with Celine, why does he not believe that I have nothing to do with Stye? I stood up from the floor wiping my tears. Crying would not solve my problem. I have to prove my innocence. I walked out of the study room and bumped into Celine. "Pardon me," she said, smirking. At that moment, all of my frustrations and anger rose up again. "You bitch!" I said to her in anger as I pulled her by the hair. "Have you gone crazy? Let me go!" She yelled at me. I refused. "Listen to me you nitwit, I know you have a hand in everything happening to me. I just know it." I said to her. She freed herself from my grasp. "Do not accuse me for your infidelity, Ashlyn," she said in anger. "I did not ask you to spread your legs for another man to lay with you." She added snickering. "You know I did not do it. I'll prove my innocence, I promise you." I said to her and she snicke

  • Fated to the Lycan   Chapter sixty five

Ashlyn's POV Three days passed, and today was the day Lucifer was to return back to the house and to me. I was anticipating his return. Ripper, Stealth, and Roselia had played a good part of keeping me out of boredom till he returns. I was seated at the dining area when Roselia brought in a tray having a cup of tea, bread, grits and gravy, sausages and devilled eggs on it. "Is this not too much?" I asked her in surprise as she placed it in front of me. She chuckled. "No, milady. You need to eat more than drink blood." She said to me. I smiled at her. "Thank you." I said to her as I began to munch on the breakfast before me. "You're glowing so much today, milady. I'm sure it's your anticipation for the Laird's return." She said to me smiling and I blushed and nodded. I took a sip from the tea and placed it back on the saucer. Before I could take another bite from the sausage, the urge to throw up took over and I turned aside and vomited blood on the floor. "Oh my, are you alrig

Ashlyn's POV He held me in arms in that position for a long time till my tears could no longer flow down my cheeks. I raised my head up to look at him, and his was filled with warm emotions. He held my chin in between his thumb and index finger. "There's never going to be another woman in my life, Ash. Not in this life or the next." He said to me and I believed him. I should have known it was another scheme of Celine to separate us. I do believe him but why does he not believe me? I opened my mouth to speak, but he stopped me. "Do not say a word." He said as he placed his lips on mine. • Morning approached quickly and the familiar warmth that laid beside me last night was gone and replaced with an empty and cold bed. I opened my eyes and indeed Lucifer was no longer beside me. I got up to a sitting position on the bed and sighed. Then I had a weird feeling that everything was about change. Just then, Lucifer walked into my room. The door was still broken and unfixed. He was a

  • Fated to the Lycan   Chapter sixty three

Ashlyn's POVIt was noon when I finally stepped out of my room. I walked down the stairs feeling very famished. Hungry for food and a little blood too. I walked into the kitchen to find Roselia making lunch with a few helps in the kitchen too. "Just a few minutes, milady and lunch would be ready." She said just as if she knew why I was here. I chuckled as I went towards a tin of biscuits. "I can have this till lunch is ready init?" I asked her. She smiled. "Yes, milady." She said. I opened the tin of biscuits and munched on a few before heading out of the kitchen. Maybe I should speak to Lucifer and see if I could get a bag of blood or two. I walked towards the living room and saw Alpha Hawking walking into the house with his beta beside him. His eyes lit the instant he saw me. "My days on earth have been blessed to have seen the goddess of beauty herself this noon." He said to me. I faked a smile at his flattery. I really do not know why Lucifer trusted this man when everything
