What is he doing here, and how did he find me in this place? Alpha Kryptos mansion has a lot of warriors, a lot that one man won’t be able to break in. So how is Alpha Arkon in the mansion of Alpha Kryptos?
Our gazes lock as I stare wistfully at his face. For some seconds, I’ve forgotten what is going on - the fact my life is in great danger. His face moves from side to side, and he sniffs countless times trying to figure out how close Alpha Kryptos’ men are. “We’ll go this way,” he whispers. He pulls me by the wrist and leads us through the open field. My feet hasten behind him, trying to catch up with his fast pace. “Over there,” Alpha Kryptos’ man roars, and I hear how fast their feet become. They chase after us but surprisingly Alpha Arkon knows his way around. Seems he has been here before and through the route. I can’t tell how long we’ve darted but our feet finally make a stop right in the woods. “You’ve to take this off right now,” Alpha Arkon utters, reaching for my clothes. I snatch my body away from his hold. “What do you think you’re doing?” How dare he want to strip me before him? “Hey, Mate, W…” “I’m not your mate,” my nose flares in anger as I gaze at him. “This is not the time for your opinion. Our lives are in danger. Take this off,” he holds my dress once again and tears it in a flash. I try to fight him off but he’s more powerful than 100 women put together. He bends down, packing the soil, and makes to damp it on. “What are you doing?” My brow knots as I gaze right at him. Confused. “To fucking save our lives.” “With this?” “Yes,” he responds nonchalantly before applying the soil over me. “This is to mask our scent. We can’t pass through the old fool territory with our scents,” and with that, he rips off his own clothes. Also masks his body with the soil. The soil has a strong earthy scent that overpowers a wolf scent. “This way,” he picks up my dress, fix it in my hand. His fingers wrap around my wrist and he drags me behind him, our clothes sitting perfectly in our other hands. The howling of wolves fills the woods as the warriors keep chasing after us in the dark. We sprint as fast as we can, and Alpha Arkon makes us hide behind a huge stone for coverage. Masking our bodies with earth is a great idea ‘cause the warriors are unable to whiff our scents. We bury ourselves beneath the rock while our eyes watch the warriors chase ahead. They have no idea where we are, and after a few more hours, they lost us. But we are yet to get the confirmation that they are indeed gone. Tiredness washes over me suddenly and my head tilts, resting on the shoulder of Alpha Arkon. My eyes closed in a deep sleep. It’s dawn when my eyelids blink open, and I slowly move my head away from his shoulder. My eyes ran through the woods. “Did we lose them?” I straighten on my feet. “Yes,” Alpha Arkon stands on his feet. For some unknown reason, his response makes me feel free. Free from my pack, family, and the old disgusting man. However, I have no idea where we are, but I know we are far away from the home of Alpha Kryptos. Trying to dust the soil off me, but my hands halt at a realization. I’m bare. I rush toward my dress I left on the floor and throw it on my body. Holding the torn part with my hand, trying to cover every part of me, my eyes meet with that of Alpha Arkon. He stands - bare in front of me. I can’t help but tear my eyes away from him to the side. “Thank you for saving me. I can track down my way from now henceforth. Our paths end here.” As much as I hate his aura because of his father, I can’t overlook the fact he saved my life. I have no idea what would have become of me if Alpha Kryptos warriors had gotten hold of me. Thinking of it, why did Luna Violeta do that to me? What crime have I committed before her that she wants my life? Thank Goddess I’m out of that home. It’s time for me to start a new life away from my pack and have a new identity. “We head to my pack,” Alpha Arkon picks up his clothes from the floor. “Huh?” My brow rises as I gaze at him. Questioning. “My pack. That’s our new direction,” he confirme and I giggle hard in disbelief. Shaking my head, “Not your pack, Alpha. I go South while you go North.” Alpha Arkon’s pack - The Rogues, is positioned in the North. My pack is positioned in the West and Alpha Thane’s pack - The DeadMoon Pack, is positioned in the South. I know Alpha Thane is also a ruthless man based on rumors but I would rather be a slave in his pack than return to my pack, or go with Alpha Arkon. As for the West and Central regions, I know nothing about their Alphas or the people. Things are hardly said about them. “I wasn't asking you, Mate. It’s an order from me,” Alpha Arkon pulls me back as I make to walk away from him. “Let go of me, Alpha. I’m not your mate, and I only take orders from my Alpha,” I snatch my arm away from his hold. He scoffs in amusement. “You think I risked my life to save you just to let you go? You’re mine, and I'm here to claim you.” “I never asked you to,” I hiss and start for the South. Something I hate so much is what Alpha Arkon is spitting out of his mouth. Yeah, I'm grateful for his help, but I never asked for it. Why the hell is he sounding like someone who just did me a favor? Even with his supposed favor, I still know he’s an enemy. I scoff hard and roll my eyes as I focus in my direction - South. I don’t know what lies ahead for me, but I will face it with my head held up high. But as I move, I notice Alpha Arkon follow behind me. His steps match up with every step I take. Whiffing in annoyance, my feet pause. “This is not your direction, Alpha,” I turn to look at him. “We still have a long way ahead, keep moving.” “What do…” My voice stop right in my throat when Alpha Arkon lifts me up from the floor, placing my abdomen on his shoulder. He makes his way ahead in the South. I hit him hard, trying to break free but it’s impossible. “Let go of me, Alpha,” I scream at the top of my voice. “The warriors of that old rag will soon return and the sun is predicted to settle early today. We are not safe right now,” he coldly responds to me. “I’m heading South, Alpha, and I….” “Ssshhh!! Your voice hurts my ears,” he rudely interrupts me. Such a bastard. I stay still, letting him carry me toward the South. Not as if I even have a choice. After walking for long miles, he finally plants my feet on the soil. “We are closer to the boundary of the South. There is a shorter route from the South that will lead us to my pack. I know you might be worn out before we get there, but I will try to make things easy for you,” he utters and I let out a mockery scoff. “I go nowhere with you. Our journey ends here,” I make it clear to him before ambling toward the South. I’m a little grateful that he has to carry me all the way here, but he should stop being a joker. My lips drag in a smile as a whiff of the South soil fills my nostrils - it feels like home. My heart dances in excitement. But just then, I feel a hard hit on my neck from behind, and everything suddenly becomes blank.Parking the car, we climb out of it. “Vynessa!” The girl who came to my pack as a messenger rushes towards my mate. A young girl who looks just her age ran behind her. They both bow their heads in respect. “You don’t look good, Luna,” the girl utters. “I’m fine, Nina.” My Mate waves at the other girl.” How have you been, Muna?”“Very well, Luna,” Muna smiles.“We have the evidence. Not sure if it’s still needed because Alpha Beckett told us your stepmother has been arrested,” Nina says. “There isn’t any need for the evidence. Everything has been sorted out.”“I’m very happy, Luna,” Muna giggles. “The same here,” Nina adds.“I’m glad we all got what we wanted.” My mate looks around. “Where is Helena?”“Oh,” Nina points over her shoulder. “She is in Luna Violeta’s quarter. They are taking care of our Prince.”“My boy. I need to hold him.” My mate reaches for my hand, “Sweetheart, I need to go check up on our boy.” Drawing her face closer, she whispers, “See you in the room soon.”Th
Alpha Arkon;Pacing back and forth, I try to push my mind away from the heart breaking news waiting for my mate inside. How will she feel? How will she be able to look her Father right in the eyes when the truth about her Mother and what her Father did is laid out to her? How wills she stand it when she hears that her Mother’s Murderer is her stepmother. The same woman her father had brought into their home. The woman who took her mother’s place.I hope she is strong enough. She promised me she won’t get shocked over anything again. I hope she keeps to that promise. Earlier before I went to face that old bastard Alpha and destroy him, I had branched the office of Doc. Lukeman. I didn’t go alone. I went with Kael, Cormac, and the flocks of my men who had come to bring down the fucking old man.. Kael had knocked off Mrs. Gravus and the other men. We carried them down the West even as we sprinted in our wolf forms. Doc. Lukeman was invited out when we arrived. Mrs. Gravus and the men
Still in the arms of Alpha Arkon. We arrived at the compound of the packhouse. This is unbelievable. The yard of the courthouse is beyond recognizable. Blood flows through the green grass and the tied ground. Bodies of dead wolves litter everywhere. Rogues tear the skin of the rest of Alpha Kryptos warriors fighting for survival. My running eyes find Beckett who is walking towards us. He is in his human form. Bare. The ripped head of Titans dangles in his hand as he holds it by his side. Stopping in front of us, “With how tight your hands are all over Arkon, I don't need to ask if you are feeling better. Your skin is back to being flawless, Vynessa.” Beckett smiles. Alpha Arkon growls. “Take your eyes off her skin or I will rip it off.”“Sorry, Alpha.”“Where is my son?” Alpha Arkon asks and my heart skips. “You received my message?” I whisper. He nods. His eyes fix on me once again. His face leans in, a few inches from mine. Someone clears her throat, interrupting our moment. It w
Helena stretches her head behind Beckett. “Where is the child who you sent out?”“My messenger who did a perfect job?”“Yes, the young child.”“I let her go. She said she needed to go find someone. There is someone she wants Vynessa to meet.”“Did that child mention that someone to be, ‘Muna?”“Yes. She said I should tell you that, when you ask about her.”Helena sucks in a deep breath like she has been holding it for long. “Thank you so much for keeping to your words of looking after her.”“Don’t thank me right now, Helena. When we survive, you can,” the last words he said before walking away. The hunger I had hoped to kill me vanished in an instant. 24 hours is what’s left to determine my fate. Will the Alpha of the Rogue carry out this task and come save me? This situation is more confusing than ever. A part of me says to trust him to come for me. And another part won’t stop reminding me of his betrayal in his pack. He had given me off to my old husband for the sake of his people
Vynessa; My body stays still on the floor, the throbbing ache never leaving. Can’t count the number of times my stomach chirps, crying to be fed. It’s one thing to be dying of pain and it’s another to be dying of hunger. Why do I have to go through both? This is unfair. Nevertheless, life has always been unfair to me. “I’m sorry, Child. I couldn’t get any warrior who will bring in food,” Helena returns from where she has gone to beg a warrior for bread. “They were all strict with their words. Alpha Kryptos will cut off their head if they try to disobey his order.” She sits beside me. “What can I do now, Child?”My head swings lightly. The only thing it can do. My lips are still too heavy to speak. “I know you do not want me to worry, but I can't leave you this way. Hunger might kill you faster than your…..” The crackling of the dungeon door stops Helena’s words in her throat. My gaze stretches a little as they watch Luna Violeta and her daughters walk into the dungeon. What do the
Just as expected, in less than a few minutes, Beckett arrives in the courtroom. But he does it alone. I understand what he is trying to prove. A man entering the territory of another man, without weapons or men, only means he comes in peace. That is the message and it’s well understood. He takes a seat closer to Kael. I'm already seated on my throne. I lean to my left, my fingers brushing my chin hair as I gaze at him. “It’s been ages, Beckett. I thought you were no more.”“I know you don’t wish death for me, Arkon.”“But I do wish it on your brother.”“Everyone does.”Cocking my head a little, “He is a dick afterall.” Clearing my throat, “Your messenger did a great job with the message.”“That’s why I chose her. She looks like one who holds such destiny.”“I can’t tell. I do not own four eyes like you. Let’s cut the chase. Why do you want the Throne?”“I don’t want the Throne, Arkon. Everyone knows I despise it. And that’s why I despise men like you and wish to bring all of you dow
