Chapter 7

Author: Forest Fire
Worried that Winona would figure out something was wrong, Sienna quickly pushed Adrian away, who was hugging her immensely tightly, and answered in a soft voice, "I'm in the restroom. And I… I just got bitten by a mosquito just now."

Adrian cocked his head and looked at Sienna with one of his eyebrows raised. He was just about to kiss her again when Sienna quickly covered his mouth with her other hand. She then spoke urgently into the phone.

"Wait for me for a while. I'll be right back! See ya!"

Sienna then hung up in a hurry. Adrian took advantage of the gap and left a huge red hickey on her nape.

"Adrian Humphrey!"

Sienna shoved him off and hurried over to the mirror. There was a very obvious love bite on the side of her neck. She frowned at once and glared at him. "You did that on purpose so that my sister would see it!"

Adrian came over to her and hugged her. "Hasn't she been asking you to bring your boyfriend home to meet her? If she's still asking you about it, I don't mind meeting her with you now."

Sienna's pupils constricted at once. Adrian had brought this up with her many times before, that he was more than willing to meet her family.

However, she had been very worried and refused him each time.

It seemed to Sienna that Adrian was still very eager to meet Winona. He still hadn't given up even after such a long time.

And of course, there was no way Sienna would ever let him meet Winona now. Yet, it was a very different feeling from before.

"You know very well that our families currently would never agree to ever let us be together. Why are you still saying stuff like that?" Sienna asked, touching the mark on her neck while glaring at him.

"Don't do this ever again. I'm leaving now. I can't let her wait too long for me."

Sienna headed toward the exit. Suddenly, Adrian hugged her from the back and whispered in a low, magnetic voice that tickled her eardrums.

"Then let's hurry up and have a baby together…"

A baby…

Sienna lowered her gaze and looked at her tummy. A bitter smile appeared on her lips. "Okay."

Adrian finally released her. "Alright, hurry up and go now. I'll see you tonight."

Sienna quickly made her way out of the restroom.

Adrian still wanted to see her tonight, but she didn't want to anymore. And he should also forget about the baby too.

Sienna went back to her private dining room. Winona immediately caught sight of the bite mark on her neck and narrowed her eyes at her. "Are you sure it was a mosquito earlier?"

"No. It was my boyfriend."

Winona immediately said, "Where is he, then? I might as well meet him since you've already bumped into him. I'll see if he's a good fit for you."

"There's no need anymore. I just told him I wanted to break up with him, and then he forced me into a kiss. I was worried that you would immediately storm over and fight him, so I lied and said that it was a mosquito bite."

Sienna's eyes were dull, and she looked quite grim. She kept apologizing silently to Winona. She was only lying because she had no other choice.

Otherwise, if Adrian found out that she knew the truth all along, the Colton family would immediately be affected, and her reputation would also be destroyed.

Winona was surprised. "Didn't you say that you really liked him a lot? You even said that you were going to marry him next time. Why did you guys suddenly break up? Did he do anything terrible to you?"

Winona felt sorry for Sienna. After all, she was more than willing to put in a good word for Sienna if she knew that the person Sienna was seeing was a good lad. She'd do anything to fulfill Sienna's wishes.

Sienna looked at Winona and saw the worried look in her eyes. She smiled and said, "I was just young and dumb, thinking that feeling good about someone meant you were in love.

"I've grown up and can think properly now. I know what real love is and what's not. Also, you've been the one sacrificing a lot for the family for the past few years, but I never did a thing in return. I promise that I'll go back and tell them to carry on with making marriage alliance plans for me."

"Silly girl. I only called it a marriage alliance, but I actually meant for you to bring home your boyfriend to introduce to us. I'd never want to see you used as a pawn in a marriage alliance. You should only marry for love, not for business."

Winona was the one in charge of the Colton family's future. There were a lot of things that she couldn't do, so she wanted Sienna to do them all and enjoy them on her behalf. She really wanted Sienna to be the person she could never be and to enjoy all the happiness in life that she would never be able to experience herself.

"We're sisters. We should always support each other. We don't have any other male siblings anyway, so I really just want to help you. I know you'd never just pick a random person for me to marry. The man you picked would definitely be a very capable person. I trust Mom and Dad's taste for that."

Winona inhaled deeply. "It's good that you're thinking of it this way. Mom and Dad would definitely find the perfect match for you as your fiance by considering every aspect they can think of.

"If you've really made up your mind about this, I'll tell them all about it after going back home."

Sienna nodded.

After going back to the apartment, Winona went into her own separate room. Sienna received a text message from Adrian at that time.

He had sent her a photo.

It was a candlelit dinner with a birthday cake in the background. The dining room at Serracotta was also very beautifully decorated.

"I'm waiting for you, Anna."

Sienna turned off her phone and brought her pillow into Winona's room.

Winona was still at her desk, typing away on her laptop.

"Winnie? Why are you still working? Aren't you going to sleep?"

"I'm just fine-tuning the proposal for the shared power station project. It would be for the best if we could get Nexus to invest in us. We would need to fork out a large sum of money to purchase their AI system in that case."

After typing for a while, Winona looked up and saw Sienna hugging her pillow next to her. She grinned and said, "What, were you thinking about sleeping next to me tonight?"

"Can I?"

"You're already an adult, and you're still doing things like this?"

Even though Winona sounded reluctant, she still got up and poured Sienna a glass of milk, telling her to drink up before going to sleep soon.

Sienna couldn't sleep because it was still quite early for her. So, she just settled with sitting down next to Winona, watching her work while also learning more about the new project Winona was working on.

A long while later, Winona finally finished her work and went to take a shower.

The doorbell suddenly rang. Sienna's eyes trembled. Nobody ever showed up at her apartment. Could it be Adrian outside?

He knew very well that Winona was here.

Was he doing this on purpose? Did he want to purposely make her nervous and panicked like this? Or was he here to see Winona?

Sienna couldn't afford to let Winona find out. She hurried out and opened the door.

The door had just opened when she was suddenly picked up from the ground and brought outside before getting pinned back against the wall.

Adrian smelled like red wine, and the scent enveloped her at once.

Sienna panicked. She asked in a low voice, "What are you doing? Winona is here. Hurry up and go back!"

"I don't want to."

Adrian had always treated Sienna very differently compared to how he was usually in the business world. He was known to be cold, ruthless, and unforgiving in the industry. But with her, he behaved as though he were a lovesick man stubbornly obsessed with her.

That had been the main reason why Sienna thought that Adrian truly loved her.

It wasn't until now that Sienna finally understood that only an actor would be able to showcase such drastically different personalities and character traits.

Adrian's handsome face closed in on her until they were less than half an inch apart. Then, he spoke in a deep, magnetic voice, further enhanced by the alcohol in his system. "If you don't want your sister to find out about us, then come with me."

Sienna quickly recomposed herself and calmed down. "Didn't we agree only to reveal our relationship after I got pregnant?"
