Chapter 6

Author: Forest Fire
It was Adrian's birthday today. For the past few years, Adrian would first celebrate his birthday with his friends before coming back and celebrating privately with Sienna at home.

Sienna let out a self-mocking laugh.

His so-called promise was just their years of tradition of her waiting for him in their bed with another scanty, racy costume on her body, waiting for him to defile her.

Sienna turned off her phone and turned on her laptop, getting ready to enroll in a college abroad.

She was just 20 years old this year and in her second year of college. After sitting for her SATs when she was 18, she had initially planned to go overseas for college to pursue animation production, something she was very interested in.

However, she met Adrian afterward, and then gave up on the idea of studying abroad. Instead, she enrolled herself in a local college in Wharf Bay so that she could be as close to him as possible.

In the end, she wasted two years of her life here for nothing.

So, from today onward, she wasn't going to continue wasting another second of her life on something as meaningless as this anymore.

After filling in her details, Sienna looked at the time on her wrist and saw that it was almost time to wake Winona up, so she did.

Winona had booked a private dining room at Brandeaux Wine & Dine. When Winona told Sienna about it, Sienna was mildly shocked.

Brandeaux Wine & Dine, or simply known as Brandeaux, was listed as one of the top three fine dining restaurants in Wharf Bay. Sienna believed that Adrian would also be celebrating his birthday with his friends in the same restaurant.

However, Sienna quickly regained her composure afterward.

After going into the private dining room, Sienna asked Winona curiously, "Winnie, what's the project that got you here in Wharf Bay?"

"I'm installing an artificial intelligence system for my shared power station."

"You mean Nexus Technology, right?"

Winona grinned in satisfaction. "You're smart, Anna."

The development of artificial intelligence, or AI, had been on the rapid rise over the past few years, and Nexus Technology had been at the helm of the rise, soaring to great heights in just a very short period of time with its current valuation at several tens of billions of dollars.

"Nexus is a leading company in AI, currently in the forefront," Sienna said. "And based on the way you work, I knew for sure that you would choose to work with Nexus."

"As expected from my little sister. You know me from the inside out after all," Winona said, shooting Sienna an endearing look. "However, you don't have to worry much about the matters in Colton Group. You just need to focus on your studies and do whatever you want, and be good at it."

Sienna couldn't help feeling a little bad for Winona. There weren't any males in their generation. So, Winona, who was the firstborn child of the family, naturally had to shoulder the responsibility of taking over the company in the future.

It was also because of this that their parents had been very strict with Winona ever since she was a little child.

On the flipside, they were very forgiving and easygoing when raising Sienna.

"Do you ever get exhausted with work, Winnie?"

Winona answered while ordering their food. "Of course, I get exhausted. That's why I don't want you to have to go through something like this."

Sienna knew that Winona had always been good and talented at playing the piano. When they had still been little kids, Winona had shown massive interest and talent in playing the piano. However, their family said that she had to take over Colton Group in the future, so they forbade her from taking piano lessons after that.

By the time Winona was about ten years old, she already had to ensure that she always got good grades at school while making time to learn business and management on the side.

That was why Winona could never do the things she'd always been interested in since she was young.

There had been many times when Sienna thought that it would have been so much better if they had a younger brother. Then, Winona wouldn't have had to go through so much hardship.

Halfway through their meal, Sienna's phone suddenly rang. It was a phone call from Adrian.

She declined his call. However, Adrian called her again, and she once again rejected him.

Winona looked at her. "Who's calling you? Why aren't you picking up?"

"It's a spam caller. Go ahead with your food, Winnie. I'll just use the restroom real quick."

Sienna walked out of their private dining room. She had just reached the restroom entrance with her head down, about to text Adrian, when she was suddenly grabbed by an outstretched arm and dragged into the restroom.

Adrian pulled her in and pinned her against the back of the door. He kept inching closer to her aggressively.

Yet, Sienna wasn't the least bit surprised to meet Adrian here.

"Why didn't you answer any of my texts or pick up my calls?" Adrian asked, his handsome features all turning dark as he stared at her. He looked displeased.

Sienna decided to play dumb. "Huh? I was with my sister."

"You never ignored my texts even when you were with her last time."

Had Adrian finally caught on to something?

Sienna lowered her gaze and didn't dare to look into his dark, endless orbs anymore. She spoke in a lower, slightly disappointed voice. "Don't you have someone else keeping you company anyway?"

At that, Adrian's frown eased up almost completely.

It was obvious that he was delighted with Sienna's response.

He raised a lithe finger and tilted Sienna's chin upward. His thin lips then curled up in a soft smirk as he asked, "You're jealous, aren't you?"

Sienna stayed quiet.

Adrian pressed their foreheads together. They were in such close proximity that their breaths mingled with each other.

When Adrian pressed forward to kiss Sienna on the lips, she turned her head to the side again, avoiding it.

"You're really jealous?"

Adrian's eyes smiled this time. He draped an arm around Sienna's waist and said, "She was just my friend's wife who needed a ride to the airport. Don't overthink things, alright?"

Was Sienna the one overthinking things? Or was he the one who'd been lying to her with a straight face all this while?

Fiona was obviously his own wife!

Sienna stared into Adrian's deep, dark eyes, but he never averted his gaze.

Could it be true that all men could always lie with a clear conscience like this without getting red in the face or a rapidly beating heart?

"I've been out for a while. Winona's going to come looking for me. I need to go back."

Adrian still gripped her waist tightly and had no intentions of letting her go.

"Adrian Humphrey. Let go of me."

"Call me 'Rian.'"

Sienna froze for a bit. Then, she obediently said in a low voice, "Rian."

"Anna?"

It was Winona's voice, coming from outside.

Sienna panicked. She looked at Adrian nervously. However, Adrian simply pressed his lips onto Sienna's and kissed her deeply.

His kiss was deep and very passionate. Sienna was caught entirely off guard and found herself melting into it at first, nearly squealing aloud.

However, she managed to stop herself after remembering that Winona was just right outside the door, not daring to make a sound. She braced her hands against Adrian's firm chest and tried to push him off.

Adrian eventually parted with her mouth reluctantly. His eyes were deep and gentle, and he could still somehow smile softly back at her.

Sienna was about to die from her panic. She simply couldn't let Winona find out about her real relationship with Adrian.

Just then, she heard another voice outside the door. "Sorry, miss, but the restroom here is currently out of service. Kindly use the restroom at the other end of the corridor instead."

"Alright. Thank you."

Sienna only let out a sigh of relief after hearing Winona's footsteps disappear.

She then balled her hands into fists and pummeled them against Adrian's chest.

He had already gotten someone to stand guard at the door outside, and yet, he still wanted to give her a nasty scare.

Adrian grabbed her hands and kissed them. He then said in a low, hoarse voice, "Go and finish dinner with your sister. And try to leave her and come back out as quickly as you can."

"I don't think I can leave her today…"

Before she could finish her sentence, Sienna's phone began ringing. She took out her phone and saw that it was Winona calling her.

Sienna placed a finger on her lips, reminding Adrian to stay quiet.

As soon as she accepted the call, Adrian immediately moved to bite on Sienna's earlobe. Sienna nearly screeched out loud. Even her voice sounded rather breathless on the phone.

Winona sounded anxious on the phone. "Anna? What are you doing?"
