Chapter 79: Moving

Hearing the pain in Charlene's voice, Calvin was heartbroken. He wished he didn't have to hurt her like this, but this was inevitable since they were not meant to be. He wished he could answer her questions, but he just couldn't bring himself to do it. How could he tell her that he couldn't be with her since they didn't have a future together? She would be shattered, he thought.

Maybe she knew that Richard was her mate. But she had probably kept it from him because she wanted to be with him.

"Calvin?" She whimpered and he just sighed.

"Please go to bed, Charlene" he told her. "We'll talk when next we see."

Calvin was not emotionally ready to confront the situation with Charlene. Left to him, he would avoid the topic and eventually let it be, but she deserved an explanation for his sudden change of attitude towards her.

"Earlier, you asked me to go home and now, it's go to bed?" Charlene asked in an angry voice.
