It was night now, and the darkness was creeping around us.

I hear nothing except my own heavy breathing and Aesira's impatient stomping. "Let's go now, Rona," Aesira said through the mind link.

I looked at Aesira as she walked impatiently across the trail and quickly ducked around the tree branches, leaning over the pathway.

The full moon shone down on her red fur, and the sheen made it look like she was set on fire.

"Yeah, let's go," I replied through the mind link.

Aesira took the lead and soon found a stable rhythm I could quickly sink into behind. She leaped joyfully over a rock and made a great leap over a river that crossed our way. We made our way deeper into the forest.

We had run for two consecutive days, and the forest we traversed was elongated and thick with trees and wildlife.

But we didn't see an issue with that. The other animals ran the other way when they sensed us coming. We're two big werewolves, after all.

And humans were scarce in this area of the woods.

I'm a werewolf named Rona, and my human is Marise. I'm no ordinary werewolf; I'm a black wolf. I am one of the strongest among our breeds.

We are not that type of werewolf that walks on two legs and has eight arms and two head kinds of a wolf. We look like ordinary wolves but duplicates in size. But it's time to put Marise in the limelight since this story is hers.

But don't worry; I'll be there; I'm her soul. I am her wolf, Rona.
