Chapter Twenty – Encounter With Felixe

Lena’s POV

I rushed into the office reception before Zephyrus could stop me. I could feel him connecting with me through our mind-link, but I blocked him out. This was my only chance to find out about my family.

Felixe was almost fourteen when Alpha Achilles attacked Lucania twenty years ago. He had witnessed it all. Surely he knew more than anyone else did. Now that Alpha Atticus was dead, there was nothing to stop him from talking about the taboo topic. Was there?

I marched confidently up to the receptionist, acutely aware of the attention I was receiving. This was my first encounter with a human, and I was nervous. Could they sense I wasn’t one of them?
