Chapter sixteen

Tiana had forgotten all about her birthday which was apparently a big deal in her family. Twenty one, the year of something. It was weird how excited they had been for this day to come and now that it was here they were in Oklahoma doing god knows what. Which was a good thing in her case because her parents could be very overbearing at times.

After listening to a horribly done birthday song on a regular call. She was forced to listen to another off tune birthday song, this time on a video call staring her dad with his guitar while her mum danced in the background. She laughed through out the entire call and when it ended she felt rather lonely. Jumping out of bed she entered the bathroom, brushed her teeth and as soon as she was done, she made her way downstairs. She was in good spirits up until she entered the still untidy kitchen. Her shoulders slumped and her sadness was back.
