“How can you hear me?”

“It’s an ability that pack members and mates have with each other since we are now connected.”

“Did the entire pack hear me, too?”

“No, just me, unless your abilities enable you to speak to people in their minds.”

She shook her head. Bree retracted the search for Bran to prevent her from accidentally divulging their secret.

She wondered if there was a range to her abilities, or was the mind-speak like her connection to Bran where she could push it further?

“It’s so loud. Do you hear all these sounds all the time?”

“Loud? It should just be you and me on the channel. Do you hear the other pack members, too?”

“No, but I hear murmurs.” Brianna paused to listen. She could definitely hear the rest of the pack talking about her and teasing each other, but she did not think her findings should be shared with Grayson right away.

They had sex and all, but she knew nothing about the guy. What if he seduced her to keep her in control?

So, until she completely trusted Grays

Using energy to block communication from the rest of the pack and learning to filter the opinions she shared with Grayson took a toll on Brianna. As soon as her head hit the back of the car seat, she dozed off immediately.Grayson tried to rouse her several times, but she was sleeping too deeply, so he had to carry her upstairs to the spare bedroom to get her energy back. Brianna woke up, momentarily oblivious to her surroundings. The last thing she remembered was running out of the cave with Bran and encountering the alpha who tried to rape her and the three wolves who had ganged up on Bran. She was snug under the covers and the heavy comforter paired with the heavy woodwork on the bed frame gave her an idea that she was in Grayson’s house. The air blew in through the window, and Brianna shuddered at the eerie sensation she felt when the cold air touched her skin.‘Bran, I hope you’re safe. I’ll come find you.’ She pushed the thoughts into the darkness as she looked out the window,

Brianna lifted her eyes with suspicion. They both knew Grayson took the diary because he wanted to read what was inside, but since he said nothing untruthful, there was no lie in his statement.“Are you the one my brother spoke of on the last page? Were your pack members hunting him down because we did not belong to any pack?”“I saw that entry, and I asked everyone, but no one had been in the forest the last few weeks.”Brianna held his gaze. So she was correct that he wanted to read the diary.“Aside from the abandoned car they found a few miles from the forest entrance a few days ago when you disappeared, there was no record of wolves visiting from other packs, either. But then again, it’s a big forest and several trails connect from Mexico to Canada, so they could have come from anywhere.”Brianna nodded. “I see.”“Did you like the bedroom? Were you comfortable enough?” He asked, changing the topic.“I haven’t seen much, but it’s lovely. Thanks for letting taking me in. I want to

“You can’t let thoughts like that leak out and expect me to do nothing about it.”“I can’t stop it. You make me lose focus.” She looked away shyly, licking her lips unconsciously.“I feel the same way about you, but I don’t want to hear that you’re out of control when you make love with me.” Bree looked up, pursed her lips, and nodded.“I want to know that you feel every kiss.” He lifted the left hand he held and brought it to his lips, giving it a light kiss.Bree held her breath when his mouth continued to up her arm. She never knew the crook of her elbow was an erogenous zone until Grayson licked it.Brianna sighed. Her legs felt like they’ve turned to jelly, she had to lean on the counter to steady herself. The oversized shirt she wore hitched up her thigh, and Grayson’s temperature shot another degree. The pastel pink shirt made her look like a giant cotton candy ready to be eaten.“Gray…” Bree touched his hair to stop what he was doing, but the soft texture distracted her.“I l

Bree smirked. “It’s okay, I’m comfortable being naked. My boobs are perky enough I don’t need a bra, but it seems like you need them for extra padding.”She was used to taking digs from popular girls at school and had become somewhat of an expert when it came to clap backs and putting mean girls in their place.“Ugh! I have boobs. Thank you very much.” An irritated Marina adjusted her breasts to give a more pronounced cleavage. “And Grayson loves them the way they are.” “I bet he’s never seen them.” Marina stomped away, disgusted that Brianna had been quick-witted. She thought that the clueless, non-shifting werewolf was stupid. But being oblivious to their ways did not mean she was not smart.“I remembered giving you enough clothes to wear. Are you really naked underneath this sweater?” Grayson had his lips close to her ear, his breath fanning her hair. Bree laughed as she turned around. “Everyone is naked underneath their clothes, unless your entire body is covered in fur.”Her ga

“Says the woman who can’t keep her hands off my brother.”“It’s the werewolf gene that’s manipulating me. I have no control when I’m around him.”“That’s how it’s supposed to work. True mates should immediately feel the pull of their bond.”“What if I don’t want it?”“There is no resisting the call. It is how you know you are compatible with each other. Fate has chosen your partner for you.”“But that takes the fun out of dating and getting to know each other.”“How? Gauging if the person likes you or not is the most awkward part of dating and I would gladly skip that part any time. It would have been perfect if you and I were paired up, but fate has spoken.”Bree shook her head.“But if you do not want my brother, I’ll be here. You’re not bad to look and probably great in bed.”Bree blushed. Aiden knew just how to make her cringe, and she knew that his attitude was the main reason they would never work as a couple. He was too flirty, and he joked around a lot. It was hard to figure ou

‘That stupid bitch! This is the last time she will get her way.’ Marina needed to act fast. She could feel Grayson pulling away from her grasp.Marina knew he still saw her as his younger sister, and it would take time before he noticed that her body was fully developed. Her breasts were fuller and her butt firmer, but all he could see was Marina in her pigtails following her elders around to annoy them.Gone were the baby fat cheeks and the stringy hair he always teased her about. She had finally transformed into a butterfly with silky hair, pearly white teeth, and pouty lips. What was not to love?Everywhere she went, wolves swooned at her feet, yet she had eyes for nobody but Grayson. It was frustrating that everyone accepted Brianna readily as Grayson’s mate when they knew Marina had been in love with him since they were kids. When Brianna disappeared into the forest, Marina thought she was rid of the competition. She even gave the visitors directions so they could easily find Br

In the days that followed, Marina heard Brianna had fallen into a deep slumber, which worried Grayson a lot. He came to work the following day after finding his mate in the forest with congratulations from everybody. The locals thought they were congratulating him on a successful search, but the wolves knew the event was something more special. It was rare for natural-born wolves to find their fated mates. It was not unheard of but rarely witnessed, so the people who helped search for Brianna in the forest felt lucky to have witnessed such a union.Marina tried to be on her best behavior, bringing Grayson flowers as a sign of acceptance. She wanted to show her maturity and hoped he would notice that she had changed. But nothing she did in the last three days had earned her anything. She did not want to give away her plan before she got to execute it.Several minutes later, she heard Grayson announce he was heading to the shower, and she almost giggled. The object of her desire had returned, and it was her turn to reap the benefits. Marina was in love with Grayson because he was loyal and kind. He also cared for every werewolf that needed attention, orphans, and strays, especially. She still remembers what he said when her parents passed. ‘Don’t worry Marina, you will never be alone. I will always care for you.’ And she held him to that promise ever since. The only reason she knew Grayson was attracted to Brianna was because he saw her naked in the forest, and Marina thought she would do the same. She pinched her face to add color to her cheeks and rolled her nipples between her thumb and forefinger to perk them up. It was time to entice Grayson to establish their bond.He had just

“Hey, Marg,” Bran and Marina enter the bar, followed by ten of their new friends. “Can you give my new friends their first drink and charge it on my tab.”Marg raised her brow. “Friends of yours?” She was suspicious. Since when did Brandon have friends the pack didn’t know about? She tried to catch Marina’s attention, but the younger woman escaped to the ladies’ room. Who were these people and why were there so many of them? Why did they come? Are they here for peace or to cause problems? These are just some of the questions she needed answered. However, it was not her place to confront the individuals involved.Marg sent a message to Grayson through the pack link to alert him of the newcomers. Ten werewolves on a motorcycle can mean anything, and she wanted to err on the side of caution.Several minutes later, Grayson and Brianna appear at the bar as if they came casually. Like they were out on a date and had come to the pub for drinks. The jukebox was blaring an old song about the

“Brandon! Get out of the way! A truck is coming.” She yells while pulling him toward the trees. But Brandon did not budge and kept his ground. He did not want to confront the creature lurking behind the shadows unless necessary. It was too late, Marina thought. When the truck hit the rock, the momentum would crumple the vehicle and them at the same time. She did not want to lose Bran to an accident they could have prevented, so she decided to stay with him. Better die together than cry because of his loss.‘It’s okay. It’s not a truck.’ He communicated through their link as the lights came closer, halting a couple of feet before the rock, the sound of machinery louder than before. His range to hear and see things around him was more enhanced than Marina’s because of his alpha blood. So he knew way before she did that it wasn’t a big vehicle that was approaching.“Need help there young werewolf?” A deep voice boomed behind the light and Marina’s eyes widened in fear as she scented at l

Inside the vehicle, Marina could not sit still. How did Seth know where she was, and how did he know she would be on a date with Brandon?Brandon asked her about a song and she said yes instead of telling him she’d heard it before. She could not focus. Seth just thanked her for luring Brandon away from the pack and threatened to kill him.Marina needed all her faculties to detect any coming danger, so she tuned Bran out, slid the windows down, and listened to the sounds outside. They were halfway to the border between Silvercreek and the next town when her fears finally manifested. She saw glimpses of a werewolf running alongside their car hidden behind the treeline. He was running so fast she could hear him grunting as he ran. Like in a horror film, the hair on her arms stood on end and she knew it was only a matter of minutes before they met this wolf in person. The action was easy to miss by a regular human, but since she had enhanced hearing and could see in the dark, she was su

Marina walked down the stairs, and Brandon couldn’t help but hold his breath. He always knew she was beautiful, but with minimal makeup and her hair down, she looked younger. The thick foundation, black eyeliner, and red lipstick she wore most of the time made her look more mature, hiding her soft, smooth skin. Having all that armor made him wonder what she wanted to hide under all that facade.“You look so—” Brandon hesitated. He had no words to describe her.“I need to change.” Marina felt conscious and retreated up the steps, but before she could reach the top, Bran’s arm shot out to stop her.“You don’t,” he said after pulling her to his chest, lifting her off the ground and making her feet dangle. His face was positioned right on top of the V of her neckline, and he gave her a naughty smile. “I like this view too.” His eyes lowered, and she covered her breasts with her hands.“Let me go. The answer was yes. She wanted to have sex with Bran, to risk the wrath of their alpha and his mate, to try her chance at happiness. If she would get exiled, why not for her happiness? But now was not the right time and place, not at the barracks, where it felt impersonal and hurried.‘Let’s go on a date first, like you suggested.’ Brandon groaned silently against her neck, but the rumble in his chest told her how disappointed he felt.‘Then we can do all this and more after the… third date?’‘Third date?’ He whined through their link, yet his hand never stopped moving.‘Isn’t that the norm?’‘How about I show you what I can do with my mouth now?’‘Oh…’ How was she supposed to say no when his hands alone brought her to her knees? ‘I have no doubt it’ll be—aghhh…good—aghhh… Brandon, don’t stop.’ Marina fused their lips and clutched his hair as the feeling in her core intensified. There was no sound anyone could hear, but Bran could feel what she did through their link. She was about t

The couple awoke in the dark at the same time, clothes covering their bodies, and sweat running down their backs. They were back at the barracks on the bed they slept in, arms wrapped around each other. The dream had been so real he felt the slickness when their naked bodies glided against each other. He was having an erotic dream about Marina and he wondered if he walked into her dream or if he dragged her into his.Bran looked into Marina’s eyes as she rubbed their legs together, noticing they were clouded. Was she still asleep? Should he wake her up?He sniffed the air and scented her arousal. It was a big possibility that they had just shared every part of his sexually charged dream.‘What were you dreaming about?’ He touched the tip of their noses together and asked through their link. He was the only handsome guy in town, so it was only right that every girl in this area was infatuated with him.”“And now?”“Now…” She looked over at Bran and smirked. “I have to check my options. He wanted to stare into her eyes while she gave her answer.“Yes...
