Chapter Eight
She didn’t have that sense of awkwardness; she thought she would have the first time they met. They settled into the couch with him next to her, and soon, despite the movie they were watching, she felt peaceful enough to close her eyes. She didn’t realize she drifted off to sleep. She woke up, and she was nuzzled into his shoulder with his arm around her, and his eyes were closed as well. She smiled and closed her eyes again, just staying in that one spot.
She thought to herself that nothing in her life had ever been done normally, why should this be any different? Though he may have other plans, she was content to move on from this place and this spot in time. He was already her friend. To her, that was all that mattered. She sighed, and he was looking at her the next time she opened her eyes.
