Chapter 2 Kid and Handsome Dad

Elisa White had no idea how to talk to Bruce Brich.

Annie entered the room carrying a stack of casebooks. "Here's the case you're asking for, Elisa."

"Please place them on my desk."

She was ready to bid Bruce Brich farewell when she discovered the phone had been disconnected.

Annie saw Elisa's drowsy appearance. "What's the matter?"

"There is nothing but these bookcases here. I'm heading to the station to check. Come with me if you don't have anything whatsoever. "

"Mmm," Elisa said.

Annie and Elisa approached the ward she was in charge of and inquired gingerly about some of the patients.

Annie attentively studied Elisa's communication skills with the patients.

She had a soft spot for Dr. Elisa White.

She was extremely convincing as she stood there, yet she did not make people feel distant.

Elisa's calm, resolute, and professional demeanor drew the admiration of many specialists with more than ten years of medical experience.

Annie wondered if patients felt comfortable standing in front of her like Elisa.

Elisa tapped her on the head with a pen when she left the ward. "Where do your ideas take you?"

"You must accept me as an apprentice, Doctor Elisa."

"Fuck off, with a dumb apprentice like you, I'll live a ten-year existence."

"Not until you tread on my body." Annie said.

"Why did I hire you in the first place?"

"I must be attractive."

Annie's shameless look caught Elisa off guard for a minute. "I'd better go off work and spend some time with you. I can't help but become attached to you. "

Annie smiled and waved goodbye to Elisa White.

Despite the fact that she appeared cold, Annie was never scared of her and frequently laughed with her.

People would react extremely differently when they had a cold face and a cold heart.

Elisa, on the other hand, was cold.

"Do you wish to arrange an appointment with Dr. Saline, Elisa? Her obstetrics and gynecology departments were having issues yesterday, as though caused by her patient. She must have received a reprimand from the head of her department today. "

"Shut up, you're ordering my life at work." Elisa said without turning around.

Annie was relieved to have been reprimanded at all, and she raced to sort out the information.

At the Cafe.

Elisa sat with a pretty tiny spoon in her coffee cup, periodically stirring it, and listening to Ellen Saline's rambling complaints.

"I envy you, Elisa. Many things would be easier for me if I had your aura. However, when I saw the patients and their families, my mind went blank. Sometimes I feel like I'm not cut out to be a doctor, and I can't seem to keep patients at bay. " Ellen was envious.

"Don't underestimate yourself. Your professional skills are not bad, your nature is gentle and careful, and there is no need to worry about it because of a minor setback."

"Do you truly mean that?"

"Patients are frightened to come to the hospital when it is crowded with physicians like myself. I am sending you back because it is becoming late, and you have to go to work tomorrow. "

"How about you?"

"Some of my patients' operations are scheduled for next week, and I will be off for the weekend."

"I am envious of you. I no longer have weekends."

"I just have a weekend every now and then, and every resident has to go through that." Elisa White burst out laughing.

"Elisa White, do you regret these years?" Ellen said, noticing nothing reluctant or problematic in her expression.

"What do you regret?"

"I regret giving up the quota for studying abroad at Brandon. What about you? You will be the deputy head physician if you study your professional skills and practical skills. How did you end up as an intern? "

"Even if I travel abroad," Elisa White grinned as she swirled her coffee cup, "I can't manage it if I'm not excellent myself."

"Thank you for looking up to me so much, Great Beauty. I intend to keep working hard. " With a grin, Elisa White continued.

"You've got to be kidding me."

"I was born with a great sense of humor."

"Fuck off."

"You may be lovely, but can you just stop being so rude?" Elisa laughed.

Ellen sighed and rolled her eyes. "I'm too lazy to go around in circles with you. Brandon and Julia will return next week, and their classmates will host a welcome home celebration for them. Will you be there or not? "

"What about next weekend? I'm still undecided. Go check it out if you're not doing anything else." Elisa said.

"You should not leave. There are a lot of people waiting to hear your jokes." Ellen was smiling at her.

Elisa raised her head, sipped her cup of coffee, and grinned, "What went wrong? I simply granted my boyfriend a money allowance to study abroad at public cost and afterwards reimbursed him for a substantial portion of his living expenses. As a result, my boyfriend turned into a heartbreaker and began dating another girl. It's not a huge problem. TV plays these plots every day. "

Ellen locked her gaze on Elisa White. "Do you truly think that?"

"What else do you think?" Elisa White called the waiter to bill out. She looked at Ellen, who was sitting quietly, and said, "Let's go, Dr. Saline."

Elisa picked up her bag and stood up.

Her legs were hugged by someone before she stood up fully.

Elisa was startled. She looked down and realized it was Bruce.

Bruce, who was wearing a little SpongeBob sweater, was looking at Elisa White expectantly, and his black, bright eyes were full of surprise.

That kind of pure surprise could easily touch people's hearts.

Elisa showed a happy smile unconsciously. "Baby, good evening. Did you come with your family?"

Bruce nodded.

Elisa's legs were gripped tightly by a pair of short, tiny arms, as if he was frightened, she might run away.

Ellen noticed the kid's cuteness and smiled. "Hello, little child."

Ellen reached out her hand to Bruce Brich.

Bruce did not even bother to look at her.

In embarrassment, Ellen's hand froze in the air.

"His situation is a little different," Elisa stated.

"Did you come with the housekeeper or with your father?" She asked Bruce Brich.

He grabbed a mini-pad from his little bag and scribbled the words on it. "Father."

She was immediately reminded of the man's cold personality.

Elisa thought about it and said, "My friend and I have something to do. Let's take you to the reception first. Will you wait for your father there?"

The boy's delicate face darkened suddenly. His rosy lips also narrowed.

Elisa White felt guilty when she saw this. She was at a loss for what to do with the kid, when she heard a steady step behind him.

"Bruce, don't bother Dr. Elisa." Said William, elegantly.

William Brich's presence drew all eyes in the café to him.

Everyone was staring at him, wondering which woman was so fortunate to have the favor of such a high-class man as William Brich.

When Bruce spotted his father approaching, he clutched to Elisa White like a necklace.

Elisa White became visibly humiliated.
