Chapter 5 A Has-been Parasite

Jessica took the elevator to the exhibition hall on the top floor for the audition. As soon as the elevator door opened, everyone quite bored by the long waiting couldn't help landing their gazes on her. This woman was so good-looking.

All the women froze for a short moment before realizing what happened. They really wondered where she had done the plastic surgery. The doctor was pretty skillful!

"Isn't she Jessica, the has-been hostess in the TV station?"

Someone recognized her. "She's none other than the young lady who gave up her bright future for her fiance."

"Really? Has her family business gone south or her fiance abandoned her? Why did she attend the audition?"

"In my opinion, such a loser should stay at home instead of losing face in public. We'll be embarrassed and disgraced by competing for the same job with her."

Jessica got up and turned around, splashing the coffee onto the two women who were teasing her most boldly.

"What are you doing?!" The two women were dumbfounded.

One of them screamed. How could they attend the audition later on with their clothes as dirty as this?

"Listen. Born with a silver spoon in my mouth, I indeed have my family and a rich fiance as my backup. Watch your tongue! You can't afford to offend me!"

Jessica wanted to sit somewhere else, but the colleagues of the two women stopped her out of fury. "Never imagine being a bully even if you're rich,"

"Exactly! Apologize to them at once!"

"How dare a has-been parasite act wildly here..."

Jessica turned to them fearlessly, her eyes cold enough.

There suddenly came a soft and gentle voice from the crowd. "Let me say sorry for her. Jessica

didn't mean it at all."

Taking Jessica's hand, Adela tried hard to show her generosity.

"Jess, why not tell me beforehand that you want to be the hostess? I definitely won't compete with you."

"Adela, how come you're on her side? Is it worth it?"

All the people present began claiming justice for Adela and Jessica just stared at them with disdain.

"Anyway, I'm not sure whether I'll be chosen. With such a good appearance and powerful family, Jessica is more suitable to be the hostess."

Adela said in a humble tone. She deliberately emphasized Jessica's beauty and family background, thus managing to make other women more jealous.

"Adela, don't be modest. Maddox Group emphasized that they want to choose a lively and pure girl. You haven't even dated anyone. What a perfect candidate!"

Jessica frowned at the thought of how Adela and Adam kissed passionately on the bed. She couldn't help feeling sick. "Then you might as well give up now."

Adela was speechless. She shot a curious glanced at Jessica. 'How come Jessica seems to be different today?'

Even the bystanders had sensed Adela's hesitation and Jessica' frankness, which made them feel what Adela said was artificial.

The elevator door opened again. A woman clad in luxurious clothes walked out with two assistants behind her. How imposing her aura was!

All the people present at once gave way to the woman, but Jessica stood still.

The woman shot a piercing glance at Jessica. "You are Gail's... What are you doing here? Try hard to get a chance to compete for the hostess? Wanna take an exclusive interview with MASK! Dream on!"
