Chapter 10: The Married Old Man

Aurora Geordie was secretly startled.

Herbert Bradley was actually coming back to the country?

It seemed she finally realized that she still had a husband.

Her husband, Herbert Bradley, disappeared without a trace right after their wedding, with no word at all. If it weren't for his vast business empire and the photo of him in the master bedroom, Aurora Geordie would have almost thought she had just imagined getting married.

He had been gone for a year, and she was starting to forget what he looked like. All she could remember was that he had a handsome face and a fit body...

Just as Aurora Geordie was about to say something to Harry, she noticed through her motorcycle's rearview mirror that two SUVs had been following her stealthily for quite some time.

Not just two, but at least four suspicious vehicles were tailing her at a steady pace.

Something was off!

Aurora Geordie quickly told Harry, "Harry, I'm on East Road. There are a few suspicious cars following me. One of them has the license plate number: xxxxxx. Can you check where they're from?"

Harry sensed the urgency: "Don't hang up, I'll be right there."

He immediately checked the license plate number Aurora Geordie provided and found out it belonged to a vehicle that had already been scrapped.

A fake license plate!

Harry realized the severity of the situation. The Zhang family was preparing to make a move even before the lawsuit was over!

When he tried to talk to Aurora Geordie again, he only heard the sound of wind and her heavy breathing, with no response.

Harry rushed out of Villa No. 8 in Imperial Palace. The young maid, Emily, called out to him, "Harry, where are you going? The boss is on his way back!"

Harry revved the engine: "The madam is in trouble. I'll explain to the boss when he gets back."

At this moment, Aurora Geordie was being boxed in by four vehicles. Earlier, in a more congested section of the road, the attackers had no room to act, but now, with fewer cars around, they started to make their move. One car sped ahead to block her path, while two others flanked her sides, and another blocked her retreat.

The two side cars began to close in. If either one made a slight turn, both she and her Yamaha motorcycle would be instantly wrecked.

In the split second before the four cars closed in, a gap appeared between the left and front cars. Aurora Geordie seized the opportunity, accelerated sharply, and broke through the encirclement. She reached a speed of 100 km/h, pushing the motorcycle to its limits.

The advantage of a motorcycle is its agility. Once she escaped, it would be hard for them to catch her. Aurora Geordie and her Yamaha deftly weaved through the dense traffic, like a nimble loach.

The four pursuing vehicles were manned by mercenaries, each with a history of taking lives. They charged through the traffic, causing collisions and curses along the way.

Aurora Geordie kept glancing at her rearview mirror. The four SUVs were relentless; it seemed they wouldn't stop until they got her.

'Vroom—'

The Yamaha buzzed like a little bee, darting through the traffic.

Up ahead, there was a black Lincoln stretch limousine with the license plate XX88888.

The people inside were either powerful or wealthy, and clearly not to be messed with!

Aurora Geordie, checking the rearview mirror and seeing the four SUVs still in pursuit, decided to stick close to the Lincoln.

The polished body of the Lincoln acted like a mirror, reflecting her image.

Her wild, curly hair danced in the wind, and her once neat shirt was now tied up, revealing her slim waist. She hunched over the motorcycle, focused on the road ahead, looking like a crouching wild leopard.

She followed the Lincoln for a while, and the people inside had already noticed her.

"Look, there's a hot chick outside the window!"

Three men were drinking and chatting in the car. One, wearing a flashy leather jacket with an earring and dyed blonde hair, put down his glass and excitedly rolled down the window. Seeing Aurora Geordie so close, he saw a poised wild leopard reflected in her sunglasses and whistled loudly.

"Whistle—"

Aurora Geordie heard the lewd whistle over the roar of the engine. She shot a cold glance at the blonde man, but her sunglasses hid her icy stare.

The blonde man, even more excited, whistled again, but Aurora Geordie ignored him. Through the rearview mirror, she saw the four SUVs closing in. Because she was sticking close to the Lincoln, they seemed hesitant to approach.

Another head popped up in the Lincoln. Herbert Bradley craned his neck to look: "Where's the hot chick? Let me see too!"

A large hand pushed his face back: "Get lost, you married old man! Stay away from my hot chick!"

The blonde man slapped Herbert Bradley's face away and continued making faces at Aurora Geordie, almost leaning out to greet her.

A larger hand pressed down on his handsome, infuriating face, squishing it into the seat.

"I want to see!"

Herbert Bradley tried to peek out, but all he saw was the wild back of her head.

Suddenly, Aurora Geordie accelerated and moved in front of the Lincoln.

The blonde man was delighted: "Is the hot chick trying to get us to stop? Kim, pull over!"

The driver, Kim, glanced in the rearview mirror and felt something was wrong. Sure enough, the car jolted as an SUV rammed into the Lincoln.

The three men in the car tumbled around.

Herbert Bradley steadied himself and realized the situation. He asked Kim, who sighed, "We seem to be caught in the crossfire."

The Yamaha was dodging the SUV, and because of the proximity, the Lincoln was also affected.

Aurora Geordie seemed to be using the Lincoln as a shield, knowing the SUVs wouldn't dare to mess with it.

Herbert Bradley became interested: "Hit them!"

Their car was specially modified. It could handle a few ordinary SUVs, or even military vehicles.

Kim, easing off the gas and turning the steering wheel, rammed into the SUV. The impact sent the SUV crashing into the roadside barrier, ending its pursuit.

Herbert Bradley moved to the passenger seat, buckled up, and saw the Yamaha still being pursued by two SUVs. A third SUV was trying to overtake and block the Yamaha's escape.

As the SUV approached, Herbert Bradley ordered, "Hit it!"

With a loud crash, the Lincoln rammed into the SUV, causing it to blow a tire and crash into a utility pole.

"Nice!" The blonde man clapped enthusiastically: "Move over, Kim, let me try to be the hero and save the beauty!"

Herbert Bradley slapped the blonde man's face back and took the wheel himself, eager to continue.

Dennis Boyle, who had been silent, turned pale and fumbled with his seatbelt: "You two are crazy!"

The blonde man was exhilarated: "This is thrilling! More, more! The last time it was this exciting was during a car chase scene in South Africa, but that was just for a movie. This is real!"

Herbert Bradley was thoroughly enjoying himself, his eyes fixed on the wild leopard on the Yamaha. He really wanted to see what she looked like when she turned around.

Even though he was married, it didn't mean he couldn't enjoy the show.
