THIRTY NINE

     Seven days had passed since Adelynn's unpleasant encounter with her exboyfriend. She had been anxious and apprehensive, knowing that Jensen was still out there. Within those seven days, Adelynn had been feeling a little ill. At first, she had believed it to be as a result of how stressed she'd been. But, the symptoms were quickly progressing, coupled with the fact that she had missed her monthly cycles for a while now. She didn't want to raise a false alarm yet. But, she had a gut feeling about it. She stared at her reflection in the bathroom mirror and splashed cool water on her face. Lying on the sink were the three home pregnancy test she had just urinated on. She couldn't bring herself to see what the results were, yet. She felt very anxious and had to take long, deep breaths to help herself relax.
