6: Intimate Orders

Ryan left me standing confused. Did he just call me his mate? He rolled the stone to cover the cave and disappeared. I shifted so Aela would protect us in case anyone tried to attack.

I couldn't be the alpha's mate, it was impossible. 

The next time I opened my eyes, Ryan was back. His wolf was huge and handsome and Aela was so eager to pounce on him and feel his fur but we were scared too.

"Come with me." He said through the mind link.

"No."  I felt like a betrayal knowing that my friends were probably dead by now.

"Not a request, it's an order." His deep voice was stained with nothing but impatience and my wolf naturally succumbed to the orders of the alpha. We shifted and I walked slowly behind him as we made our way back to what used to be our territory, I supposed.

Ryan was faster than me and stopped every few seconds so I could catch up. He took me by surprise when he extended his hand. I watched it like it was an explosive that was about to go off and then reluctantly took it in mine. His hand was much bigger than mine and swallowed it in his grip but his touch sent sparks through me, I hungered for more.

In no time, we were back at the territory. The arena was damaged, the omega quarters and some of the high rank chambers. There were tree branches littering everywhere but barely any signs of blood.

"Oh no." I threw my hands up to my mouth, holding back my tears, "what happened?"

"The starlight pack, they attacked. They wanted our territory because they knew the alpha was retiring and they thought they could meet us at a time where we would be vulnerable to attack." He explained like he wasn't talking to me. His hands behind his back as he talked, looking into the damage ahead of us.

"You knew, why didn't you warn us? Now my friends are gone and..."

"No one died." He turned to look at me, "we fought them off. We have injured wolves but the healer is taking care of that."

"Where is everyone then?" I wondered.

"The high ranks are in their reserved chambers, and not all chambers were penetrated. The pack is resting in caves in that nearby mountain, come on." He said and took me with him to the tall mountain I'd always watched from my hut.

There were murmurs when we got there as wolves gathered to talk about what had happened. 

I left Ryan's side to blend with the wolves so I could find my friends but as I was walking away, Doe ran up to him and threw her arms around his neck sobbing, "Ryan where did you go?" She cried into his shoulder, pressing herself hard against his chest. I sucked my breath, finding her suffocating suddenly. 

'He's not hugging her back.' Aela calmed my jealousy and I noticed his hands were stuffed in his pockets.

I found Stacey sitting on a rock and Casper crouching before her, attending to her foot.

"Stacey, Casper!" I ran towards them. Casper stood upright and caught me when I ran into his arms. He pressed me so tight against him.

"Fuck, I thought I lost you." He refused to let go. Aela warned me that Ryan was staring at us with cold blood eyes. I quickly let Casper go.

"Stacey, are you okay? What happened to you?" I crouched low.

"I broke my ankle, I'm fine, we thought we lost you." She hugged me tight as well, "where on earth were you?"

"Um fine guys." I didn't want to tell them about Ryan calling me his mate even though he hadn't marked me as his. I had not processed it yet and so letting them know would only stress me out.

"Bloodmoon pack." A deep voice filled the midnight air, and it belonged to Ryan,  "as you all know, a great misfortune befell us today. I'm glad to say that we did not lose any wolf and i'm also glad to announce to you that the bloodmoon pack as a new alpha from henceforth." As he spoke, most wolves began to shift and howl. There was a new feeling in the air and we could all sense the connection to our new alpha.

By the time I shifted, all of the pack was howling in their wolf form, sending night birds clattering away from the sky. 

Ryan's wolf seemed to grow significantly in size and all the high ranks surrounded him to perform the usual rites. A new alpha if brought about by a good cause usually brought joy, healing and peace to the pack. 

By the time the rites were done, we were all connected to the new alpha and soon began to shift back.

"Thank you for your acceptance. The wolves in charge will lead you to the respective caves, be rest assured no form of attack will be happening. The warriors and myself will be active all night long." His voice was scary and I knew just many wolves were sad that Alpha Park was gone. 

Alpha Ryan announced further, "my father is in an injured state as he fronted most to save us and he's in good hands not to worry. Go to sleep everyone."

"Yes alpha." The wolves around chorused and dispersed with the leaders in charge of coordination.

"Hey, Nadeline." Alpha Ryan called through the silence causing me to stop dead in my tracks as all eyes in the room turned to look at me. "Come with me."

He could have just called me privately but he chose to do this in front of everyone, just great.

My cheeks went a bright red, and I clenched my fists by my side as I walked with shaky legs towards him, "yes Alpha."

I didn't have to look at Casper to see how furious he was or Stacey to know that she was dumbfounded. I stood by the alpha's side and followed him while hs led the way to his chambers, leaving everyone confused.

Once we were in the privacy of his chambers and he had locked the door behind us, I let out, "What was that about Ry- alpha Ryan? Do you know what people will say? How could you... ah!" I trailed off into a shriek because at the speed of light, he'd had me pressed against the wall, while he inched over me.

"You will not talk to your alpha like that." He warned and I swallowed visibly. My chest rose and fall as the distance between us had my chest pressed against his abdomen and I just knew he could feel my stiffened nipples. 

He held my neck and forced me to look at me, "you will not talk to your alpha like that." He repeated.

I should be scared but I wasn't. When he pulled away, he moved an inch backwards still watching me closely. He ran his fingers through his hair and unbuttoned his shirt.

My eyes would not stray from his abs and defined muscles. Aela was acting mad threatening to front if I didn't strip naked and fuck this man.

"What are you doing?" I asked, my voice barely coming in anything but a whisper.

"I'm going to fuck you." Alpha Ryan said blatantly, coming closer to me.
