5: What the bond?

My brain could not comprehend the situation at first but as Ryan took my lips in his, there was a pulse between my thighs and my wolf ached for his touch much more than a kiss. I had never felt sexually attracted to anyone as much as I did now.

His hand moved to my throat and held me in a choke hold that was not suffocating and he intensified the kiss. In a matter of a few seconds, he had pulled away and I audibly whimpered about my disagreement.

He didn't stop there. Still keeping his hand around my neck, his gaze locked with mine, his other hand found its way to my clit in the tub and he began to glide against it.

I sucked my breath in from the amount of pleasure that provided me with it while he continued to rub my clit until I gave in to the building pressure. I wanted to believe I was imagining things but I was still here.

"You're clean. Go, I'll see you tonight, I want you to be within my view, have I made myself clear?" His eyes were still on my lips, and he drew straight lines across my lower lip with the pad of his thumb.

I could only nod, trying to recover from the kiss and his fingers that I could still feel between my thighs.

Ryan reached for a towel folded on one of the many shelves here. He reached for my hand and I took it, not breaking his gaze, as I stepped out of the tub, wetting his floor from all the water dripping from me.

He wrapped the towel around me and pulled me closer to him with one hand around my waist, "I'll see you tonight." He repeated his words from earlier in a whisper into my ears.

Ryan picked my clothes from the floor and took his time dressing me back up. When he was done, he nodded once and now that I understood it was time to leave, I didn't want to but I bowed my head, "yes sir."

With an ache still thrombing between my thighs, I strolled out of Ryan's chamber, keeping my head low heading back to the omega quarters.

"Where have you been all day?! I've been looking for you." Stacey was the first person I saw. "We have to clean the dishes up and you... why aren't you listening to me?"

"Huh?"

"More importantly, what are you blushing for?" It was Casper.

I quickly wiped the smile away from my face and shook my head at them both, "It's nothing, I'll change my clothes and catch up with you guys." I said dismissively.

"Also, be rest assured guys, I think it's safe, I checked the perimeters and there's no sign of trouble or danger." Casper assured us. I nodded and turned to leave but he stopped me with a touch of my shoulder.

"Were you with Ryan?" He frowned.

I forgot how much stronger than mine his sense of smell was because of his warrior blood.

Stacey furrowed her eyebrows as she waited for my response. "No." I lied, even knowing Casper could see through me, "you guys I'll catch up with you." I hastened out of their presence into my hut. Once I was alone, I retraced everything that had happened and put my hands to my chest. I could still feel Ryan's touch and the taste of his sexy, full lips. Why would he have done any of that with me?

The only creature more excited than me was Aela. I got changed and hurried to join my friends in the kitchen.

*

When it was finally time for the festival which started a few minutes to midnight, neighbouring packs had arrived. The highest ranking wolves sat on their spaces in the podium. Alpha Park, Beta Mark, Ryan, Jenna, even Doe.

The first performance of the night was the pups taking their first shift at the full moon. It was an emotional roller coaster for the parents of the wolves and it hurt me to know omega pups missed out on this.

Next were a set of dancers from another pack entertaining us with their moves.

"Notice anything strange yet?" Stacey asked us. Casper,  Stacey and I had stuck to each other like glue the whole night.

"Nope?" I shook my head, "you?" I asked her, looking around to spot for actions or movements when my eyes landed on Ryan. He was looking directly at me and I quickly looked away. There was no way I was letting him distract me tonight.

"Calm down girls." Casper said, "remember that I've got your back."

"It's not just about us, there are pups, and other wolves. I don't want anyone dying." I swallowed, remembering Ryan's harsh words.

"No one is dying." He reminded me.

The night went on super fast and I couldn't enjoy it because I kept expecting danger to pop out of nowhere.

Silence soon befell the arena when Alpha Park stood to speak. "As you all know, i'm always grateful for the honour you all bestow on my pack and I during our annual festival." He began his speech, "this will be my last year as Alpha of the bloodmoon pack." He stated and there was an emotional murmur filling the arena.

"My son Ryan will be taking over from tonight." He said and Ryan stood to his feet, a dead cold glare staying on his face as he looked around him, his hands behind his back. The rites will be performed to make it official but everyone, join me in welcoming the new..."

He was cut off by a sudden explosion from somewhere near the arena. There were immediate shrieks of horror as people stood from their seats while others tried to figure out what was going on.

With immediate action, the alpha shifted and was backed up by the warrior wolves who were hurriedly moving people out of the way and protecting the pack.

"Guys it's happening." I panicked.

"Stay calm!" Casper held my hand tight and Stacey's hand in his other as another explosion filled our ears.

"How could Ryan let this happen?" Stacey cried as we tried to scurry to safety without letting go of each other. It was near impossible since everyone was trying to get out one way or the other and it was hundreds of wolves

All of a sudden I felt myself yanked from Casper's grip.

"Nadeline!" I heard him shout as I disappeared into the crowd. Panicking, I tried to figure out what was going on or why I was going at full speed. I realized I was hooked onto the back of a huge white wolf. Aela didn't sense danger on him so he had to be from our pack and if his wolf was white he was either the alpha or.

"Ryan?" I called in confusion.

He kept running, far away from the other wolves and further into the woods.

"No." I shook my head, "we have to go back please, my friends!" I cried. I couldn't live knowing something terrible had probably happened to Stacey or Casper but Ryan was going so fast, I would get myself killed if I dared to hop off.

We stopped in front of a wide cave and his wolf rolled the stone blocking the entrance before he shifted.

"You will stay here and stay safe." He warned me, a frown on his face and his fists clenched by his sides.

"No, my friends please!" I begged but he turned to leave.

I quickly held his hand to stop him as I shook my head fast, "please don't leave me alone all by myself." I swallowed hard.

He looked from my hand to his and I took the opportunity to argue. "I'm coming with you."

He inched me closer with his hand around my waist, "you will stay here." He ordered me,  "I'll head back to fight for the pack's safety but you are not moving an inch until I return, do I make myself clear?"

"Why do you care about me so much? Let me go." I was conscious he was a high rank but my friends mattered more.

"You will listen to me and serve me," he paused and lifted my chin to look at his face, "mate."
