Chapter 79: Falling Apart.

Damon's POV

This was the third bottle of water I had finished. I didn’t know why I was so thirsty today; maybe it was the weather.

I had spent close to thirty minutes on this street waiting for a miracle, or at least anything that would show me Susan's apartment. I knew Susan lived on this street, but I didn't know the particular house.

Yes, I was looking for Ava, and since she was no longer at the hospital, the only place she must be was Susan's, since it was where she headed when she fell ill, and also, her friends wouldn't let her out of their sight.

Just as if the universe had heard my cry, I saw someone walking out of an apartment, and even though I couldn't see his face closely, I knew it was Walter.

I was right. For Walter to be on this same street, it meant Ava was here, in the apartment a few blocks away.

My eyes followed Walter like a hawk as he walked to his car and drove off. In that moment, I thought about doing the same thing, but I couldn't.
