"We are moving again?" I tried to keep my voice as calm as possible but I couldn't. My mom was bent on making me go crazy.
"Violet, I'm not going to repeat myself. Pack your bags, now" She scolded with a stern expression on her beautiful face before exiting the room. I sat up with a huff, one minute I was chatting with my stupid best friend, and the next I had to pack my property from this room that I was getting used to after three months. Kill me now. This is my life, today as a princess, tomorrow as a heiress of a conglomerate family! Well, it is okay with me because I don't have to pack all by myself. I picked up my phone and called one of the maids taking care of this big-for-nothing mansion. My room is at the far end of the second floor, secluded which I like because I could never get used to maids hovering around me. She walked in soon and got to work while I sat on the sofa to stay out of her way. I watch her pack every one of my numerous plushies while playing Candy Crush to relieve my stress. *** I hate planes. Tell me why we took one for a distance we could cover with a car ride, it is just an hour's drive! I mean we are moving from one top of the city area to another. I prefer subways but Mom would never use them, it is below her standards that kept inflating every second. I was jet lagged and thankfully the new family we will be barging into had cars ready for us as soon as we landed. The airport wasn't as crowded as the normal ones, I guess it was because it was for the richest amongst the rich. I couldn't wait to see the new big golden fish that Mom caught in her net again. Mom is a beautiful woman and she knows it, and she is confident about it unlike me. I'm a younger version of my mid-twenty-looking thirty-seven-year-old mother. She gave me all her genes except the black straight hair, I have copper colour hair which has tight waves and goes down to my butts. The only thing I got from my nonexistent Dad. I was dozing off when the car stopped causing me to sit up and glance outside the glasses. As expected, the new house is bigger than the last one. I wordlessly got out of the car and made my way to the entrance not bothering to wait for Mom, I needed some sleep. I'm used to this, going into a new house and introducing myself as my mom's daughter to her boyfriend. The last two houses we lived in had grown-up kids, I was the youngest, things were awkward and I was thankful that we moved after two months. Sometimes, I wonder if my mom is an undercover agent to check the rich families in the city. And how do they all fall for her? My thoughts were cut short when a fit-looking man walked out of the house excitedly, he B-lined for Mom and pulled her into a tight warm hug. "You are here finally" The man beamed happily, Mom gave him her signature sweet smile. "Yeah. I miss you" I felt my teeth ach at how sweet they sounded. They finally pulled away and turned to me, I resisted the urge to roll my eyes when Mom sent me a warning glare. "You must be Violet" The man stated still smiling like a lovestruck puppy, he looked familiar. Although vaguely, I felt like I had seen him somewhere. Maybe a magazine since he's this rich. "Yes. Good afternoon sir" "Call me Archer, how was the journey?" "Stressing" I started truthfully. "Fourteen hours journey is no joke. Let's go in so you can rest" My eyes widened, did he just said Fourteen hours journey? We have been in the city since last year! My mom's warning gaze made me realize that she probably lied to him about our journey. I shrugged and went in behind them, I just need some sleep. "Violet, you can choose any room you want on the third floor, your bags will be taken there," Archer said once we got into the living room. I'm not surprised at how expensive everything looked, this young man is sure loaded. I watch the couple go towards the stairs, laughing and whispering to themselves. My mom is such a... As usual, I chose a secluded room and wasted no time slumping on the bed. "Rich people are sick" I mumbled at the thought that every room on this floor has a well-made bed like this. My phone chimed but I couldn't lift myself to reach for my bag, I needed some sleep. *** I woke up with a start, something was weighing on my waist, I groaned as I rolled out of the bed to get away from whatever was trying to smother me. "Fuck" I heard a deep voice cussed followed by a muffled groan. Someone broke into my room? I sprang up as my eyes trained on the large figure occupying the bed. It is a male, with a familiar back and that unruly black curls atop his head. "Excuse me?" I tapped his broad shoulder causing him to move, he lifted his hand and the next minute I was back to being trapped under a big log of muscle. "Shut up and let me sleep" the voice! Why is familiar too? I looked up at the half-exposed face and my breath caught my throat. The main character of my sinful fantasies! Is this a dream or what? Lucian Archer is sleeping on my bed in the new home I just moved to....wait! Lucian Archer? "Call me Archer..." Thirty two years old Archer Ryders the youngest trillionaire in Yakas...!MIRA "Thank you" Allen said when Leah and Reilly finally left. Mira huffed and let go of his arm in frustration. She didn't get the desired reaction from him. "Mphm! You only know to thank me now? So much for staying up all night to bring down your fever." She sat down where Leah was sitting earlier, facing Allen squarely. "I was busy " Seeing his serious expression, Mira didn't know what to say immediately. "Of course you were. Busy helping someone move in" Mira unconsciously poured her lips having said that. Allen's face twitched. Kiss. Something whispered to him as he stared at those inviting lips. "Leah is Maverick's sister" he shook off the tempting thought. "Huh? That Maverick? And So? What does that have to do with her moving in here?" Mira accused defiantly. What could Maverick do to her? He might scare others just like Allen does, but not her. Mafia boss? Then she's Mafia Queen! "Some people found out about her and tried to harm her, so she's staying here un
ALLEN Allen waited impatiently to have dinner with Leah, at least before he starts ghosting her. He wanted to go find Mira right away. She must have gotten the pictures, right? Then, why has she not bombarded him with messages? She didn't even check up on him, knowing that he was down with fever the previous night. Is she storming over to face him directly? Or, she hasn't gotten the pictures yet. Maha made use of his app, so she must have gotten the pictures. Why is she not here already? It will be better if she comes over and claim him as hers again, right in front of Leah. But, why is he thinking about all of these? He used to hate how clingy she is. He was supposed to hate how she came back all of a sudden and tried to claim him. Everything... Just why is the thought of her all over his mind? Allen pulled himself out of his shameless thoughts when Leah walked in. Smiling shyly at Allen whose expression barely moved, she slipped into a seat opposite him. "I'm sorry I ke
ALLEN The heaviness on his chest woke him after tormenting him throughout the second half of the night. Although he slept surprisingly well, the weight on his chest kept him vigilant even in his deep sleep. Allen gently carried the sleeping Mira off him and settled her into the couch. He took off his overcoat and covered her with it. Easily finding his glasses on the table in front of the couch, he slipped it on and threw a cold glance at the man sleeping in an uncomfortable looking position. Maha actually slept off on his self-imposed night watch duty. Allen held back a scoff abd exited the studio as silently as he could. It was only when the car drove out of the parking lot that he realised he didn't leave any note for Mira. She stayed up all night to take care of him and he didn't even say thanks. Feeling guilty, but having a lot of pressing things to do. He made a mental note to go back to the studio in the evening once he was done with his schedule for the day. Maveric
MIRA Waking up to find yourself all alone after spending the night taking care of someone_the one you love, was a good sign. Mira was livid. After spending all her time and energy to take care of him, he left. Again! Just like that. Just when she thought he was bending to her, he seems to have snapped right back to the rigid man she always knew. Not even a thank you? He could have just woken her up to say thank you, or wait until she wakes up. "Mannerless jerk!" Mira muttered angrily under her breath and threw his overcoat aside. He only knows to cover her with that. What a way to start the day. Maha was already waiting to take her home. He looked like he hardly slept all night. Mira was at the back seat fuming with her phone as she held back herself from putting a call across to Allen to give him an earful. ' I should ignore him. Yes, I have been too forward ' 'But I have decided to pursue him. Things like this should be expected, right?' Mira sighed and leaned bac
MIRA Who the hell faints during a kiss? Allen Lincoln of course! Mira didn't know if she should be panicking or find out what is wrong with the unconscious man laying heavily against her. With all her strength, she dragged him towards the sofa in the room and they both plopped down heavily. "Allen" Shaking him as she called, Allen barely moved. Mira was confused and clueless on what to do. It was past midnight, who would she call? Maha? In her disoriented mood, she looked around for her phone, not seeing the device anywhere in sight. "What the fuck! Allen! " She called again, getting no response. Finally finding her phone laying somewhere among a pile of unused fabric, she quickly called Maha. "Maha? Come to my studio with any form of first aid for an unconscious person. I... He just fainted. I don't know what's going on" Mira rapped on as soon as the call was picked. "Okay ma'am" Maha replied and disconnected the call. Allen was still laying unconscious on t
LEAH No matter how many times she washed her face, Leah couldn't get rid of the feeling of bloodstain on her face. Her head was spinning in thoughts that she couldn't decipher their direction. Maverick is a gangster. No, a fancier or more high-class word is Mafia. How is she just finding out? Just how? She could only remember him being a caring and loving brother, as for his job... Leah only remembered that Maverick was slowly taking over the company their father and managing their family company while Warren Lain and his wife rested. He wasn't supposed to be into any illegal dealings. Delaying herself in the bathroom was nothing, she has to face him anyways. It wasn't a simple issue that she could just avoid. ' I should dry my hair ' she thought as her eyes caught the hairdryer on the rack. Anything to delay meeting her brother who was patiently waiting for her in the room, Leah was ready to do it. Sectioning her damp hair into smaller sections, she meticulously did he
