LOGINThird Person POVMarissa didn’t let up until they had reached safety, slowing and then lying down to let the hunter off. He climbed off confidently, and then she shifted to human form, the man, “Darius,” wrapping a cloak around her as she shivered from the cold. She didn't know him too well, but something about him made her skin crawl. That and her wolf was acting strangely towards him, which further made Marissa feel disquieted.“Thanks,” she said, sounding wretched. She'd left her mother behind to die. Ran away like a coward and allowed this hunter to help her escape, even though it went against everything she believed in. It was unnatural for a hunter to ally itself with a shifter. He and her mother, though, had some form of relationship and tonight, it had come in handy. He didn't even bother to ask about MaryAnne, though, perhaps already aware she had to be dead. They walked to the main road where a car was waiting. She climbed in as Darius got in the driver’s seat.“Where to now
Raven POV“Hey, MaryAnne,” I turned my head to look at her, even as I slowly gathered up my strength, my wolf lending me hers, our bodies beginning to tense in anticipation. “I bet you’re missing your old lover, aren’t you? You know, the man you kept secret from everybody,” I mocked, "well, I killed him. Slowly. Painfully. He begged me to stop,” I spat out as MaryAnne tensed, her grip loosening, “he screamed. He cried. I took so much pleasure out of his misery,” I taunted. “I carved him up, and then I put him in the forest for the little animals to feast on his flesh. I bet he’s a big old bag of bones now,” I said as she hissed between her teeth, “probably has maggots climbing all over him. He loved you too, you know,” I added gleefully as she clenched her hands into fists, “he died crying out your name,” I hissed, my eyes gleaming with satisfaction. What can I say? Go big or go home. It was working too. She was completely focused on me now, forgetting all about Aeress.I yanked out o
Raven POVI held my breath before feeling the knife slowly trace along my face, MaryAnne taking her time as Marissa looked on, her face almost turning green. She opened her mouth to say something and then closed it, glancing away as though unable to witness what MaryAnne was about to do.“Which should I ruin first?” MaryAnne murmured to herself, “Your pretty little face, or your body? I’m going to make it so that Hades can’t bear to look at your dead body, because you’ll be repulsive to him,” she threatened."Raven,” Aeress screamed, trying to move towards me despite her broken ankle. her eyes wide with horror, her whole body shaking.“Shut up,” MaryAnne growled, “else you might distract me and wouldn't that be even worse for your friend?" she taunted Aeress. She ripped the front of my dress, using the knife to tear it. I winced as the expensive fabric tore, exposing my lacy bra to her gaze. “No wonder Hades has a thing for you, what with that creamy skin and all,” she taunted, puttin
Raven POV“Wake up,” a voice said crudely.I jolted awake as cold water was poured over me, blinking against the darkness, my vision slowly coming into focus as I stared at the two people I knew were responsible for mine and Aeress’s kidnapping: Marissa and her mother. I tried to move my arms and felt them firmly restrained in silver cuffs behind my back, the sudden pain flaring as it burned my skin. My ankles were also restrained and as I glanced over, I could see that Aeress was in the same position as me. They weren’t taking any chances, that was for sure.Cowards, both of them. If I could just free my hands...then we might still have a chance. I couldn't reach my wolf, though, not between the drug and the restraints. “What do you want?” My voice is hoarse and tired.“What do you think?” MaryAnne demanded, a sly smile on her face. "Revenge for what you did to me, revenge for what you did to Marissa."I glare at her, “If you want revenge, then come at me, leave Aeress alone,” I dem
Hades POV“Congratulations, Hades,” Alpha Daxton offered, handing me a glass of bourbon as I drank it down, grateful for the slight smoky aftertaste, inhaling deeply, almost gulping it down in an effort to settle my nerves.“Thank you,” I rasped, smoothing down my shirt, adjusting my jacket, and fiddling with my bowtie. “I’m a lucky man,” I added as Damien snorted, elbowing me.“More than lucky. You hurt my sister, and you’ll have to answer to me,” he added sternly as we stood outside. It was a promise, not a threat. I believed wholeheartedly that he meant every single word. “I promise, I will never do anything to harm her, I swear on my life,” I vowed.Raven was my whole world and the centre of my universe. Just the thought of hurting her made my heart hurt.I looked at the crowd, eagerly whispering amongst each other and then darted a look at Jackson, who looked like a nervous wreck. Omegas whipped through the crowd, offering refreshments and little canapes for the guests. Damien g
Raven POVTwo weeks later: I looked at myself in the mirror, twisting every which way, unable to hold back my happiness as I looked at the beautiful black wedding dress that clung tightly to my bodice and then flowed down to my ankles, corset-style ribbons criss-crossed on the back of it. I was a princess, a dark force to be reckoned with. The dress was exactly as I'd wanted it, fitting like a glove, and my face glowed with excitement as I twirled around, the dress billowing around me. Today was going to be perfect. Like a fairytale. Happiness consumed me. By the end of the evening, I would offically become Hades' wife and the recognized Luna of this pack. My father and brother had worked hard to make this day come true, and I knew without a doubt that they would make this day memorable. A memory to cherish forever. “Soon,” I murmured, wringing my hands together, nervous as the auspicious time drew nearer. It felt strange, being at my father’s pack, but also right in a sense. I was
