Chapter 10

A tap on Ophelia's cheek woke her up from her sleep; she had fallen asleep for over two hours after Aurora left the dark room.

Her eyes flew open as she was startled by the touch.

"Who's that?" She murmured beneath her breath, darting her eyes around the empty dark room.

"Your majesty, it's me Ava."

"Fuck! What the heck are you doing here? You disappeared after serving me huh?" She spatted, being pissed off.

Ava felt pity for herself, she knew how easy it was for anyone to believe that she's responsible for the poisoning. Meanwhile, she knows nothing about it.

She walked closer to Ophelia and placed her palms on her shoulders. "I know how painful it is to be in this condition, but the truth is that I know nothing about the poison…I swear with my life."

"You're bluffing, besides, I never told you to take an oath." She imagined Ava standing before her. "Why do you care about my welfare when we're supposed to be enemies? I am of no match with you."
