Chapter 3

~

Ophelia was brought to the king as he ordered, she placed the vegetables on the table in his room.

"Your majesty, this is the vegetable you ordered for." She managed to say something with her head bent low.

The king glanced at her, he stood up from the sofa and moved closer to her.

She wasn't shocked to see him wrap his hands around her waist. All these while, Alpha Asher has been pleading to make her his Luna, but she would always turn him down.

He would confess how much he loves and cherishes her, but she wouldn't care.

"I got a report from the Lycan king of Lycan Keepers clan this morning, and I knew you're the one."

She felt her heart sink into her stomach.

He showed her the bracelet. "This is yours right?"

She widened her eyes and glanced at her left wrist, but her bracelet wasn't there any longer.

She tried taking it from him, but he couldn't let her.

"Just answer my question, Ophelia. This is yours right?"

She nodded. "I guess, since I can't find mine on my wrist again."

He smiled and let go of her waist. "Tell me the truth, how did you get into the Lycan Keepers clan and returned alive."

Her heart began pounding heavily, she was baffled on the answer to give which will suit everything.

For over two minutes, she hasn't given an answer.

"I asked you a simple question, Ophelia. How did you get into the Lycan Keepers clan and returned alive without this bracelet?"

She swallowed her saliva. "Ummm… I… I…"

"What's so difficult to answer a simple question?" He yelled at her.

"I wasn't able to shift, so I got into a run out of frustration and passed the boundary unintentionally. They had thought that I'm a thief, so I escaped when they were about to catch me… not knowing that the bracelet fell off my wrist."

The king turned to her. "Did I hear you say that you couldn't shift?"

She nodded, that was actually what she wanted to keep hidden from anyone in the pack. Although, she knows how difficult it is since they will still find out.

The king was confused, he couldn't get why the girl he loves should be wolf less.

"Since you're wolf less, you must be weak as well." He referred to her.

"Your majesty, it's there anything wrong with the bracelet? How did you get it?" She was so anxious to know what's going on, since she was actually telling him lies about the bracelet.

"The Lycan king wants you. And failure to bring you to him, our pack will be destroyed."

She fell to her knees. "He wants to kill me, please I don't want to go there." She broke out in tears.

Alpha Asher was touched by those tears, but he had no other option.

"I don't know what to do now, but I can only drop a message to him either. But, you'll be taken there now."

She swallowed bitterly. 'But he promised to set me free since I'm his mate, why then did he change his mind?' She thought, recalling the promise Alpha Wymond had made to her.

The king rang the gong and the two guards appeared again.

"Give him this to read once you reach there. You will take Ophelia to him now." He ordered the guards.

The took the paper where he had written a message and pulled Ophelia up.

"Make sure to protect her." He reminded them and they bowed to him.

Alpha Wymond was sipping from the bottle of liquor in his palm while pacing round the room.

He was so baffled.

"If I destroy that pack, she will die as well and that will worsen things for me. But then, Asher is being stubborn this time."

He angrily placed the liquor on the table and began dressing up. "I'll have to go there myself."

"Your majesty, she is here."

He heard a voice at his doorpost. "The girl I sent for?"

"Yes! The guards brought her."

He pulled his lips into a wide smile and began having his clothes on again.

"I'll be there now." He referred to the guard.

He matched into his chamber afterwards to see Ophelia who was staring at the floor.

Those smiles couldn't escape his face while staring at his epitome of beauty that turned out to be Wolf Less and weak.

"Greetings, the Lycan king. Alpha Asher requested that you go through this." The guard standing at the right hand of Ophelia handed the letter to Alpha Wymond.

He took it from him and went through it immediately, pretending to be sad.

"Asher wouldn't tell me what to do with this thief. I'll treat her the way I like." He replied to the guard.

They glanced at each other.

"Throw her into the dungeon for now, make sure her hands and legs are tied up." Alpha Wymond ordered his guards.

They dragged Ophelia away from the other guards.

She lifted her face and stared at his face for a while, causing him to smile widely again.

They said nothing to each other, then she was dragged out of the chamber.

"Tell Asher to get her eyes off her." The king referred to the guards again and left the chamber.

He noticed his wolf growling in anger, he was so furious than ever.

"What's that roar for, Chloe? You should be happy that I brought her back." He referred to his wolf.

"I want her back, but not to be in the dungeon." His wolf whispered angrily.

He couldn't hold his laughter.

"Anyways, it was a camouflage for those guards. And I'll continue with it after she's crowned."

"Shut that crap you call a mouth, Wymond." His wolf cursed him.

He hasn't felt his wolf angry, but since he met Ophelia, everything turned upside down for them.

"Get her out of that dungeon immediately, she's too beautiful to me there." Chloe snapped.

He nodded. "I'll surely do that, but not now." He replied quietly.

He reached his room and pushed the door open only for goose pimples to fall on his skin repeatedly.

"Aurora, when did you come in here?" He thundered, scared that she might have heard about Ophelia.

He wouldn't want her to find out that he has found his mate.
