Chapter 4

Olivia's P.O.V

“Girl, your asshole brother just asked me if I wanted to help them clean up the beer and cups that's lying around the house,” my best friend Megan huffed, walked into my bedroom and tossed her purse onto my bed. “I wasn't even invited, and he had the balls to ask me if I wanted to help clean up after it.”

“Oh Megan,” I sighed and sat on my bed. “Last night was horrible.”

“What happened?” she urged, and immediately rushed to my bed and sat beside me. “Tell me,” she ordered gently.

“I was trying to study last night, but they had the music so fucking loud that I kept having to reread the words in my history textbook. I got so frustrated that I stormed outside and asked Jason to turn the music lower.”

“And what did your brother do?”

“He told me to drink something instead of trying to ruin his party and then Sean added to the already embarrassing situation and called me a bore, and I stupidly looked at his lap and he caught me,” I whispered embarrassed, but my best friend knows that I used to and still kind of have a crush on my brothers best friend. “He freaking patted his other thigh and asked if I wanted to join Heather on his lap. I was freaking humiliated.”

“What a dickhead,” she growled, and rubbed my back, trying to comfort me.

“That's not even the worst part, Megs. I heard noises from the extra bedroom, and I thought Sean and Heather were arguing. I wanted to check on him to make sure he was okay, but when I opened the door, I found him kneeling behind her, fucking her on the bed.”

“Oh Olivia-,”

“That's not even the worst part. He told me he didn't finish yet and then dismissed me and went back to fucking her while I was standing in the doorway,” I mumbled.

“They are both jerks,” she snarled.

“I made them breakfast this morning because I knew they would be hungry and when I went to walk out of the room, he stopped me and basically apologized for what happened,-”

“Wait. Sean actually apologized?” She asked, shocked and not truly being able to believe that asshole had it in him.

“Well, he didn't say sorry in so many words, but I think he would have if my brother hadn't walked into the room while we were discussing what had taken place.”

“Of course your brothers did,” she sighed, and I smirked at her comment. She can't stand my brother and takes every opportunity she can to make sure he is well aware of how she feels about him.

“Everything was just so embarrassing. I wish you had come over last night. Miley and Heather were laughing at me like I was the stupidest joke they have ever seen, and neither Jason nor Sean made them stop.”

“I know, I'm sorry, babes, but I had to have dinner with my grandmother for her birthday,” she explained. “So your brother finally fucked the horny bitch.”

“Yes, and Sean fucked Heather,” I added. “They both acted like they agreed, with Sean calling me a bore.”

“So why the hell do you care? We don't like them,” she reminded me. “They are bitches. Who gives a crap what those two dumb blondes think.”

“I don't care, but I would rather not be remembered as the girl who was a bore in high-school Megan. I know I choose to make sure I have good grades, but I'm not trying to stand out as a loser,” I defended myself.

“You are not a loser, Olivia. You just do the things that make you happy,” my best friend told me gently and smiled. “I'm happy to have you as my best friend, and I'm not a loser, therefore that means my best friend is not a loser either.”

“Everyone just seems to think the way I act is a bad thing,” I tell her quietly, not wanting my brother and Sean to overhear this conversation.

Megan gives me a knowing look before asking. “When you say everyone, you mean Sean, don't you?”

My best friend is the only person who knew I had feelings once for my brother's best friend. I like the old Sean, the Sean that would defend me against my brother when he ran his mouth without thinking. I don't like this one, I don't trust this one. He has taken every opportunity to make my life hell over the past few years of high school.

“I'm just tired of being that girl,” I growled.

“So don't be that girl anymore,” my best friend announced and shrugged like it wasn't that big of a deal to change my entire personality.

“You know what? You are right. I don't have to be this girl anymore. I can be fun.” I informed her and jumped off my bed. “I'll just stop being me.”

“I didn't say that,” she said and rolled her eyes, grabbed the nail polish from her back pocket, slipped off her saddles and repainted her black toenails.

“I just meant to try to be more outgoing. I know you would rather stay in than go out, but maybe try going out more.”

“How? I don't know how to act like you, Heather and Miley-”

“Do not compare me to those two fake bitches,” my best friend snarled and looked like she was ready to beat my ass, which made me giggle. “I don't practically dry hum your brother any chance I get.”

“Gross,” I laughed and wrinkled my nose in disgust. That was not something I needed to picture.

“Yea, gross,” she sighed.

“I'm not saying you act like them. I just meant I don't know how to look pretty. I don't really know how to apply make up, I don't know how to fix my hair every day, and I don't know what to wear to seem sexy. I never even been to a party before, and the ones my brother and Sean throw don't count,” I briefly explained.

“Let's change that then,” she shouted, put the top on her nail polish, and tip toed to my closet, careful of her freshly painted toenails.

“What are you doing?” I asked and watched as she began throwing things out of my closet in her search for whatever the heck she was looking for. “Hello Megan?” I called out, trying to get her attention.

“Picking out what you are going to wear to Heather's party tonight,” she paused and looked back towards me. “You would look hot as hell fire in red.”

“What do you mean? You can't be serious about going to her party. We don't like them, remember? Why would we go to her party?”

“Well I wasn't going to go, but you want to stop being you and want to learn how to be a popular girl and going to this party will start that transition,” she informed me and jerked a short red dress out of my closet. “This is where you have been hiding this dress. I got you this for your birthday last year.”

My eyes bulged as I watched as she crossed the room, striding towards me holding out that tiny dress. “Megan, that isn't exactly my style-”

“That's the point.”

"Are we even invited?” I asked. I don't really feel like walking into a party just to be turned out at the door and told they did not invite us.

I have had enough embarrassing moments and I don't need to add to the list.

Plus, Sean would probably laugh about that and will probably call me a bore again and add to that embarrassment.

For once, I want to become the old Olivia again. I want to be the Olivia that is outgoing. The Olivia that can have fun. The Olivia I was before my brother became popular and left me behind.

“Fine,” I sighed.

“Wait really?” Megan asked, shocked that I actually agreed to go to my first high school party.

“Yes. Let's do this.” I grinned and held out my hand to try on the dress for tonight.

“Hell yes,” Megan shouted and handed the dress over to Mr. “Tonight will be so fun. Our first high-school party together.”

“I'm a little nervous, though,” I told her honestly. I have never worn anything so revealing in my life and I can already tell, just by holding the dress out that my boobs will be showing and most of my thighs.

“I thought I was going to have to talk you into this a little more,” Megan laughed. “Don't be afraid. I'm sure your brother will be there and even though he's a jerk, he won't let any else that isn't him or Sean mess with you and I'll have your back.

I guess she is right.

My brother may like to make stupid remarks about me, but he only allows Sean to go along with it. If anyone else tries, he shuts them down hard. Last year he broke a boy's nose for calling me a tease.

Hopefully tonight doesn't take a horrible turn.
