Chapter 44

After Adair left, I hopped into the shower and got dressed. We were supposed to leave today but since Leo is looking for my dad, Adair said that we should stay until he’s found.

Making myself look more presentable, I put on a black pencil skirt and a light pink blouse and throw my hair up into a high ponytail. I apply some light makeup to cover up my puffy eyes, thankful that their no longer red.

After talking to Adair about my past, I feel like the weight has been lifted off my chest and for the first time ever, I feel like I’m no longer defined by my past.

Even though I don’t know Adair for that long, there’s this strange connection between us thats rooted in comfort and trust. It puts me at ease knowing that I can tell him anything.
