"Where can he go, Luke? It's 9 already. His phone is switched off. What do we do with all this food? What will we tell mom?" Asked a worried Serenity. She and Lucas had come in an hour ago with Alexander's dinner that their mom had sent. They'd been trying his mobile phone for the last one hour but he wasn't answering their call.
Both waited worriedly and finally decided to go home, leaving his food with the building security guards. Lucas walked to the security guard's office when a black Honda Accord screeched to a halt just outside their main gate. Several men picked up a brutally bruised and bleeding semi-conscious man and brought him inside the building. The security guards rushed towards them. Lucas too went forward.
Suddenly Serenity came rushing from where she stood beside Lucas's car. "It's Alexander. Stop everyone, he's wounded," she yelled in p
The next morning Serenity woke up and dashed to Alexander's room. He was still asleep. So she went back to freshen up. Lucas went to check up on Alexander. He saw that he had woken up and freshened up too. Kathy was just leaving after giving him a glass of warm milk and biscuits."Hey, dude, how are you feeling now?" He asked, checking his face. The swelling had reduced a lot."Alive," said Alexander with a grin. "Thanks for saving me."Lucas looked down at his hands. "You could have informed me, Alex. Why did You go to fight without informing anyone?" He asked in a hurt tone."You would have got upset and maybe would have informed uncle Eric," said Alexander, knowing that Lucas was hurt. He too felt bad but he couldn't help it.
They reached their hotel on Santa Monica beach, LA around lunchtime. Alexander stared at the beach with wonder."Is that the beach where we'd surf, uncle Eric?" Asked Alexander, staring at the beach and the ocean with wide eyes."No, that's Santa Monica State Beach, our hotel is located here. We'll surf on the Venice beach," said Lucas's dad.Their car entered the gates of a grand hotel, luxuriously decorated with sprawling lawns as they entered through the gates. They clambered out of the car and stood staring at the hotel."This is the first hotel that we built in the West," informed Lucas's dad and everyone looked at the hotel with wonder."It doesn't look that old, dad," said Lucas.
Alexander entered the locker room of the fight club and changed out of his street clothes. Mike Tyndall walked inside with a smile on his face."I've kept an easy fight for you tonight, Alexander. It shouldn't last more than two rounds. Your opponent is Knuckles from Arrowheads Fight Club. Here, check out his previous fights," said Mike, starting his laptop and showing him the videos.True to Mike's words the fight lasted for two rounds of three minutes each. Alexander knocked out his opponent at the end of his second round and Knuckles was rendered unconscious. Alexander remained the reigning champion and won the fight. He returned back to his apartment to find a very agitated Lucas sitting in the living room. The moment he came inside, Lucas jumped up to his feet and went towards Alexander to inspect h
The next day, Alexander, Lucas, and Eric Parker flew to New York for an important meeting."Our client is world-renowned MMA champion Mark Orbitz, who retired from the fighting scene five years ago. He now is the main organizer of the world championships that are scheduled to be held here in New York, next month. Mark trains aspiring talents too along with organizing MMA events. He's interested in booking our hotels for the world championships for all the world-famous MMA participants," informed Lucas's dad and Alexander listened with avid interest. He knew MMA was a full-contact combat sport based on striking, grappling, and ground fighting, made up of various combat sports and martial arts from around the world. Mixed Martial Arts was completely legal compared to the fights he undertook and had stringent rules and safety measures for the participa
Lucas was furious. How could Alexander play with his sister's feelings? He had trusted him blindly, accepted him as a brother into his world, shared his stuff with him and this was what he got in return?"Luke, I love him," Serenity confessed, trembling with fear. She knew how protective Lucas was with her. She was afraid that he would overreact."You love that low life? What do you know of love? You are innocent. He must have brainwashed you into this," said Lucas with gritted teeth."No, you're wrong. We both love each other," said Serenity, gathering up all the courage she had in her to speak out for themselves, for their love. Lucas was more furious at her statement."How much do you know about him? Did you see the slum that he lived in? If we hadn't take
Lucas woke up the next morning with a heavy heart. He was wild with anger last night and took an extreme step in his temper. It was Sunday and he felt a strange restlessness within him. The whole day he drove around aimlessly. At dinner time he didn't want to face Alexander so he returned home late. He found out that Alexander hadn't arrived for dinner. His parents were worried as he had never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. The next day he woke up early to get ready for college. He didn't want to go back to his apartment to face Alexander but he had to go get his books and get ready for college. He got ready for college and Serenity still hadn't emerged from her room. He hadn't seen her since Saturday night. Their parents were worried about her. Lucas left for college, stopping at their apartment to get his things. He wouldn't live there with Alexander anymore.
Five years laterSerenity tried very hard to move on but couldn't. She was still stuck on that dreadful night when she lost her Lex forever. Heartache was something that she had learned to live with. She couldn't forgive Lucas during the initial year. She had enrolled in Lucas's college to pursue her passion, Interior Designing but at the back of her mind, she was always worried about Alexander. Initially, she had no clue where he was and what he was doing. However, a year after that dreadful night, a small article on the sports page of the national newspaper had caught Liam's attention. He had brought it to her and she was astonished at what she read. There, along with the article was a picture of Alexander in a Mixed Martial Arts uniform, posing for an after-match photo. The venue was in New York. He was an MMA fighter doing quite well for himself it seemed. He posed w
"Violet worked at our Beverly Hills hotel. I fell for her badly last time when I stayed there. She's a nineteen-year-old orphan with two little brothers to take care of. I saw that she was struggling, so I convinced them to stay with me at my Santa Monica home. I want to marry her, Sera. You remember Leilani and her minions from my school days?" He asked Serenity who was patiently listening to him.So he was in love with a poor orphaned girl. Destiny proved to him that all these things were immaterial when you fall in love. The heart refuses to see anything else. It just falls in love with the other person's soul."Yes, the bi*ch who made your life a living hell in school? She's still after you? She messages you, doesn't she?" Asked Serenity."Yes. But I've blocked her. Still, she lands up at our h
