CLARA
I made my way down the hallway, still coming across the same interiors as before. I couldn't remember the route I took or where I was, but one thing I knew for sure was that I was cooked! I'd missed my way now I didn't know where I was. My body trembled just by thinking about it. The hallway got darker, but then I couldn't stop now. What if Alpha Asher discovers that I had escaped and he comes to find me? My heart beated faster inside my chest as I made my way forward. This wasn't helping thing at all. There were two door down the hallway and I couldn't stop thinking about waiting inside one, maybe someone would find me in there soon. It was getting too cold and silent. I was frightened so I didn't get attacked by someone.. or something. It was getting really spooky. My legs wobbled as I took two steps forward, standing in front of the huge mahogany double doors, placing my hands on the knob and about to open them. It was as if there was someone inside or behind me. However, a strange dark aura emanated from within and circulated the atmosphere. My hands trembled as I turned the knob open. All of a sudden, something moved as fast as flash, pulling me away and we arrived at some room in the mansion. I was pushed on the bed and soon it was on top of me. I screamed out loudly in fear as our eyes met, it all happened so fast, I passed out… ********* My eyes forced themselves open as it was obviously tired of keeping shut for long.I did not know how much I'd been unconscious for, but when I looked up, the atmosphere was bright and there were sun rays plopping into the bedroom through the window. I looked up at the man standing in front of the door with his back facing me. He was clearly on the phone discussing with someone. I recognized him, I tried to stand up from the bed, sitting upright and moving my legs down to the ground. “Clara, you're awake” he said, making his way towards me.. I thought that he'd changed And had come back to pick me. I didn't expect his next actions, or should I say I should've been expecting it? His heavy palms rested on my fragile face which obviously turned crimson immediately. “Father…” I whispered, masking the pain I felt at that moment. “How dare you try to escape, Clara? Do you want us to be discovered? Do you want to blow our cover?” He yelled at me, letting out a guttural growl as he grabbed my neck tightly, strangling me. I coughed out, unable to hold on anymore, I held his hands and struggled to let myself out of his tight grip.. “P- please let me go…” I cried out. My eyes were literally tearing up, yet he didn't let go. Why did he hate me so much? Why? Isn't he my father? I asked myself as I shut my eyes preparing for my fate.. The door suddenly barged open and a sharp wind followed. Before I could look, my father was pinned against the walls with a pair of huge hands tightened around his neck. As I stared, I saw him, Alpha Asher, defending me from him. “How dare you touch her? Don't you know she's mine?” He yelled out.. I could sense the anger in his voice… He was enraged by my father's actions. I sat down on the ground rubbing my neck slowly as I heard them talk. Father tried to explain to him but he wouldn't listen. He immediately summoned his guards to drag him out of the bedroom… I couldn't say a word as my neck still hurts from the maltreatment. He came to meet me, leaning down near me to ask. “Are you alright?” He asked, I ignored, I didn't want his care, I just didn't want anything to do with him. I stared at my hurting neck which might have probably gone crimson by now. “I'll help you treat that” he said, carrying me towards the bed in bridal style. After he'd placed me there, he went on to bring the first aid kit to treat me. I watched him do his thing, And he was definitely good at it. By the time he'd finished applying the medicine, I could barely feel the pain anymore. But I couldn't help but wonder why he was so kind to me. Yesterday, he hated me so much, he was distant and cold. Why did he change all of a sudden? Soon, a maiden knocked on the door and walked inside after he let her. She was holding a tray of food. “Alpha, I've brought the Luna's breakfast” she said, He stood up and got the tray from her. He brought it up to the bed and placed it by the drawer. “How do you feel now?” He asked me, I didn't want to speak to him yet so I just nodded. “Did he ruin your voice? Tell me and I'll make sure he loses his tongue!” Alpha Asher declared. “N- no” I stuttered immediately, it was a bit painful and he noticed. I was trying to save my father after all. After I ate breakfast, he left the bedroom, leaving me to wonder why he'd done all of these in the last few minutes. Just yesterday, he hated me, and now, today, he's being so kind. I couldn't lie, I was very confused about him.Clara MookeI broke into a run once I was close to my room, the tears falling like the Niagara river from my eyes. Why I was crying was beyond me since his attitude was expected. After all, this man has told me specifically why he ever wanted a wife. But why did he need me to act like we were in love? Why?!That only heightened my hatred and irritation for him. He didn’t know what love felt like so it was expected he wouldn’t be ashamed to lie openly about loving me when he knew he wouldn’t.I clenched to my chest as I threw myself on my bed, letting the tears flow.In the morning, I woke up with puffy eyes and a sore throat. I groaned out as I stirred to the other end of the bed.And to think I’ll have to play loving wife to Asher today.Well, I’ve always been a firm believer of the earlier you deal with your problem, the better. And right now, I needed to deal with acting like I loved Asher.I took a shower and got dressed to the dinning area for breakfast. The morning routine tort
Asher Blackwood We got back to the mansion at dusk and I could feel the shift in Clara’s energy as we walked inside. I didn’t know what had happened to cause it since she had been quite happy while we were out.“I’ll go freshen up quickly. See you at dinner,” she said briskly with a city nod before going in the direction of her room.I wondered what I had done wrong and why she was acting this way to me all of a sudden. Her reception in the village had been warm and for a moment, I felt we were heading somewhere.Or maybe that had been in my head perhaps. With a deep sigh, I went to my chambers to take a bath, getting ready for dinner.I had just got out from the shower when I heard a soft knock on my door.“Speak,” I ordered.“It’s Clara,” came her feminine, ever sweet voice.I tied a towel around my waist and walked to door. When I opened it, I was graced with Clara’s beautiful face. Her eyes going wide as she casted her head down immediately.“Why didn’t you say you were busy? I w
Asher BlackwoodClara walked ahead of me, though she had no idea where I was taking her too. A part of me knows it’s because she doesn’t want to be anywhere near me which hurt me.How could I show her that I was willing to make out union work?Honestly, Clara wasn’t to be blamed for how difficult interacting together was but I couldn’t control myself whenever I was angry. Especially when I had reminded her of the betrayal she had experienced from her own family.“Not your right. Left,” I said loudly as she took the wrong way.Clara didn’t turn to acknowledge me, instead she retraced her steps, taking the corner at the left and continued walking ahead. She was feisty and I liked it. I loved it, if I dared say. I just wished we would get along. When I had been thinking about the teaching her about my pack, I had hoped it would be a way for us to bond with each other but I doubted any bonding of any sort will be happening now.Clara looked pissed and disgusted and I in turn faked my disg
Clara Mookes I didn’t leave my room till the next day and when I did, I walked briskly to the dinning area for breakfast. As expected, Asher was seated already at the head table having his breaks fast.He stopped eating the moment I walked in, his eyes on me as I took my seat, letting the servant serve me. I wished he would avert his eyes from me but Asher didn’t.Instead he sat down cooly in his chair, his eyes accessing me as I ate my food.“Good morning Luna,” Asher said out loud.I lifted my eyes from my food to look at him.“Good morning Alpha,” I replied, my tone flat and my eyes devoid of emotion.Asher smiled, shocking me. What was he finding funny? He cleared his throat, picking up his spoon as he continued to eat.“You’ll be spending the rest of your day with me,” I took in a deep breath, dropping my spoon on my plate because suddenly, I had no appetite again.“Why?” I asked.“You’re the Luna now. You need to know what it entails to be the Luna of this pack. I’ll be put
Clara Mookes Living in Asher’s mansion was a little boring. I had no friends to talk with and also didn’t do nothing apart from stroll the halls of the mansion or go hide in the scenery garden Asher had shown me.Today, I wanted to do something different and that’s why when I saw a huge man who looked like a warrior passing by, I did the most foolish thing of following him and ended in the training ground.Back in my father’s pack, women were never allowed near the training ground and I wondered if it was the same here.I scanned the place and found two female wolves snickering at each other as they watched the warriors who pranced around with their chest open.A sigh of relief left my lips as I realized it was perfectly okay for me to be here.My eyes were quick to find Asher among the muscular men. His aura was unmatched and I could tell he was the strongest among them all. I moved to a corner as I watched Asher gnash his teeth before going in for his opponent.I realized, it was a
Clara Mookes “What?! But… he can’t possibly do that!” I exclaimed. My father shook his head, his eyes sad and accusing.“This wouldn’t have happened in the first place if you had never tried to run!” He yelled accusingly.I glared at him, preventing myself from hauling words at him.How could he possibly ask such a ridiculous question. Why else would I have tried to run?!“Still, it doesn’t give him the right to isolate me. I’m going to have a word with him,” I gritted out, getting up to leave. My father blocked my way, a disapproving scowl on his face.“Alpha Asher is your husband and Alpha now. Questioning his order is not only disrespectful but shows your mother and I have done a bad job in raising you,” he said sternly.“So that’s it?! You’re okay in never seeing your daughter again because some Alpha gave the order?” I snapped.I wished he would prove me wrong and deny my statement but the look in his eyes gave him away. My heart sank as I realized my father was okay never seei
