Chapter 11

Kaylee pov

I don't know for how long I have been lying in the room when I hear several heavy footsteps walk down the stairs. My body starts to shake in fear when I hear them walk by the cell I'm in before they open a door, and I hear a man screaming the whole way past my door and up the stairs.

I don't have to see to know they are here to take him away and execute him. Other feet walk to another cell, and I hear someone struggling and several growls before a third is heard.

Listening closely, I try to sit up against the wall when I hear someone being dragged by my door, and it bounces when they drag the person up the stairs.

I hear them walk through another room and a woman's scream is heard. She screams the whole way through the hallway as well, past my door, and up the stairs before the cellar becomes silent.

I feel how my stomach turns again, but I have nothing to empty and all I can do is try to breathe through it and look at the door while I listen closely to what's going on outs
