Chapter 36

Kaylee pov

The rest of the day went fast. I got too help in the kitchen and enjoyed having things to do to keep my mind busy from overthinking about the whole mess I'm in.

"Kaylee, come and eat," I hear Sofia say, and place the last plate I have washed away. Some others are cleaning the kitchen while Heidi and the other cook are preparing for tomorrow by doing inventory and making sure nothing is missing.

"Coming," I say to Sofia, and starts to walk out of the kitchen and head over to a table in the restaurant that they have set up for all of us to eat dinner at. The restaurant closed about an hour ago, and we only got to eat something fast once we had any time over, and I'm used to it, so I didn't mind.

"Here, take a seat," Sofia says when Liz comes walking over with another woman and some kids. It doesn't take long until I see the kids take a seat with their mothers around the table while I take a seat at the far end.
