Chapter 3

Author: Noodle Stir-Fry
Jessica's mother, Sienna Biles, walked over to me, her face dark. She looked at me with such hatred that it was like she wanted to tear me apart.

"Olivia, Toby deliberately embarrassed Jessica and didn't even apologize. You can't even teach your own brother properly, and now that someone is kind enough to discipline him for you, you should stay out of it!"

Afraid that the two of us might start fighting, Florian quickly explained, "Olivia, Toby did push Jessica first. You should be glad I was the one who dealt with him. If Jessica's family had handled it themselves, he would've had it worse."

He suddenly leaned in close and whispered, "Don't worry, Toby isn't badly hurt. I didn't use much force."

His words instantly fueled my anger. Toby's pant leg was covered in blood from the knee down, and he was limping as he walked. How could Florian brush it off just like that?

I couldn't swallow my anger. "Jessica was threatening to jump off the building just over two hours ago. Didn't you find that embarrassing? She also shamelessly tried to steal my fiance in front of everyone. Isn't that embarrassing too? By your logic, she's the one who should be taught a lesson."

Jessica and Sienna's expressions darkened. Florian tugged on my arm, trying to get me to shut up.

I ignored him and continued, "When Toby arrived and didn't see me, he thought I was being bullied. He only pushed Jessica because he was trying to stand up for me. Jessica is able to stand here now because I told Florian to talk to her and compromised to meet her demands. Since I'm not asking you for anything in return, you'd better stop going after Toby."

Sienna and Jessica froze on the spot. They wanted to refute what I said, but couldn't find the words.

Toby tried to help me up, but the pain had already drained all my strength. My legs gave way, and I immediately lost my balance and fell backward.

Florian reacted quickly and caught me. "Olivia, what's wrong?"

I ignored him and asked Toby to contact the healer.

Seeing how frighteningly pale I was, Florian carefully helped me into a chair and asked with concern, "Olivia, are you okay? Why are you contacting the healer? Did that fall hurt you badly?"

Seeing an opening to get back at me, Jessica said, "Florian, don't let her fool you. That was just a minor fall. What could possibly be wrong with her? She's just putting on an act. Maybe she even told her brother to come here and deliberately interrupt us."

The concern on Florian's face disappeared, his expression turning cold. "Olivia, you know I hate it when people lie."

Toby tried to speak up for me, but I stopped him.

Someone who truly cared about you wouldn't be easily fooled by just a few words from someone else. There was no point explaining myself anymore. I didn't want to see them again. Staying here would only upset me.

I stood up with great difficulty, and Toby quickly came over to support me. Then, he slowly helped me toward the door.

Every step felt like someone was stabbing me in the stomach, but until the healer arrived, all I could do was endure the pain.

Florian felt himself waver when he saw how weak I looked, and he moved to help me. But the moment he stepped forward, he heard that Jessica had fainted. Without hesitation, he ran to her. The concern on his face was far greater than it had been for me just moments ago.

Even though I had expected it, my heart still ached.

Toby noticed how upset I was and gently comforted me, "Olivia, don't be sad. When I get stronger and more capable, no one can bully you anymore."

We hadn't even reached the door when the healer walked in and asked, "Who's feeling unwell?"

I was about to speak when Sienna beat me to it. "Here! Please save my daughter!"

Florian quickly carried Jessica over to the healer. He knew I'd contacted the healer first, yet he didn't look the least bit embarrassed.

"Olivia, you can still stand and walk. Jessica is in much worse shape than you."

Jessica was lying there, her complexion rosy as always. It was obvious she was faking it.

I wasn't going to compromise when it came to my life, so I shook my head firmly. "No, I was the one who contacted the healer. You should examine me first."

The next moment, Sienna slapped me hard across the face. She yelled furiously, "Who do you think you are to compete against my daughter?"

Toby tried to help me, but he was shoved to the ground. He clutched his knee in pain after hitting it on the floor again.

To keep us from getting in the way, Sienna ordered the servants to drag us both away and lock us up.

Desperate, I clung tightly to Florian's hand, but he shook me off without a flicker of hesitation. "Olivia, just stay away while Jessica is being treated."

I closed my eyes in despair. I had just been dragged into the room when the servant suddenly let out a piercing scream.

She saw my blood all over the floor.

Meanwhile, after narrowly escaping death, I had just finished the paperwork to transfer to another werewolf pack under my new identity.I quietly listened as Jax told me everything that went down, not feeling any satisfaction at all. If anything, I just felt a little sad. After all that back and forth, they still ended up dying young, just like they had in my last life.Seeing me lower my head without a word, Jax thought I was grieving and thoughtfully handed me a tissue.I didn't take it. Instead, I finally asked the question I'd been wanting to ask all along. "Jax, you were reborn too, weren't you? You weren't at the marking ritual in my last life, and I remember you'd already left for another werewolf pack by then."Jax's expression froze for a moment before he took a deep breath and nodded.I quickly asked, "How did you die?"Although I didn't know why I was given a second chance at life, death was clearly a necessary part of it.Jax stared at me in silence. There were too

Florian quickly regained his composure. He got to his feet and wiped his face. The tear stains remained, but his gaze had already turned cold.He simply refused to believe that I had died so suddenly.Florian ordered his assistant to pull up all the surveillance footage of me, then locked himself in his room and watched it nonstop. Frame after frame flashed by, but the more he watched, the more his heart ached. He saw how I would stand by the door looking dejected for a long time every time he left, only going back to my room after dark.He also saw how, just yesterday, I could only helplessly curl up on the floor while the werewolves Jessica brought beat me up.With every scene, his guilt and heartache grew. After Florian left yesterday, I stayed inside the room. Then Jessica appeared in the surveillance footage. She secretly sneaked in with a group of werewolves and tampered with the door. Before leaving, Jessica also started a fire in the kitchen. She smiled triumphantly as t

Blood dripped from the corner of my mouth, but instead of getting angry, I laughed. "Jessica, if I don't come out, I'm afraid you'll end up having to dissolve your mate bond with Florian."My words hit her like a spark, burning her eyes red."Shut up!" Jessica's chest heaved as her voice turned sharp. "Florian would never be willing to leave me."She glared at me, practically screaming, "I'm the one he loves most. This pup is the best proof."Then, as if suddenly remembering something happy, the anger on Jessica's face vanished, and she let out a soft laugh. "Florian never told you, did he? I deliberately drugged myself that day. He wouldn't touch me at first, but the moment he saw another man holding me, he went crazy."He threw me onto the bed and didn't stop until morning. He kept saying my name over and over, telling me he loved me."She looked as if she were back in that night, unconsciously wrapping her arms around herself with a sweet smile on her lips."After that night,

Florian's expression stiffened as he made his way back to Jessica's side despite himself, still pretending not to care. "Then it's settled."With that, he ran straight to her.Jessica had no idea what we'd talked about. All she knew was that Florian had chosen her again and left me behind. She flashed a victorious smile, as if she were showing off Florian's love for her.It was only after those two disappeared from sight that I dropped my pitiful act."You…" Jax hesitated, unsure how to say what was on his mind. He couldn't understand how I'd suddenly seemed like a completely different person.I explained, "I'm still me. I didn't believe any of his lies. If I left right away, he'd find me again. There's no way he'd let me go so easily. So, we have to wait for an opportunity that will drive him crazy."I went back to our place the next day. Florian seemed pleased that I'd listened to him. He pulled me close and held me like nothing between us had ever gone wrong."I thought you'd

They were both stunned.Worried that I'd get upset again, Jax quickly drove Florian out of the room.Even though Florian looked concerned, he didn't stay any longer. "I'll come see you again once you've calmed down."Florian said he would come back, but I didn't see him for the next few days.Meanwhile, Jax stayed and took great care of me. Whenever it was time to eat, he'd blow on the food to cool it down before gently feeding it to me. He treated me like a pup, which made me feel pretty embarrassed.I wanted to politely refuse, so I reached for the bowl in his hands. "Jax, thank you, but I can eat on my own."But Jax pulled the bowl away. "It's no big deal. You're the patient. You should get some rest."I could only obediently open my mouth and let him finish feeding me.Because I was still weak and couldn't walk, every time I needed to use the bathroom, I had to ask Jax to carry me there. He could carry me effortlessly, yet he walked so slowly. I was starting to wonder if I

The excruciating pain was gone. I instinctively reached down and touched my flat stomach.
