Alina’s POV

“Fuck,” I muttered under my breath.

The moment the Dr Nala stepped into the villa, my whole body went cold. I tried to smile, to act normal, to pretend my heart wasn’t about to explode. But my palms were slick with sweat, and even the air felt too thick to breathe.

“Good evening,” she said warmly.

I forced a polite, “Good evening,” hoping my voice didn’t crack.

Edrick shook her hands.

“I'm sorry for the delay Mr Vale.” She said.

“No worries at all,” Edrick replied. “You made it,

  • Forced to Marry my Sister’s Fiancée    The Doctor's Offer

Aria’s POVThe burns weren't that serious. At least, that's what the nurses said. The guards didn't even care. And even though the burns were minor, they still left marks on my skin.Still, the next day, I was pulled out of the line and escorted to the kitchen to wash dishes with her again.Did these people care at all? I wondered. But there was no sign of care on their faces."She's going to kill me, I swear!" I cried to the guards as they escorted us. "Look at her! She's trying to harm me. She burned me. She cut me. She started the fight!"But it was as if I were some crazy bitch hallucinating. Not a single guard said a word until we reached the kitchen."You can see your doctor tomorrow. Then you can make all these crazy complaints to him," one of the guards said before closing the door.I was left alone with her again, but thankfully, she didn't try to harm me today.Still, the colder and quieter she was, the more alert I became.I stayed away from the hot water, stayed away from

  • Forced to Marry my Sister’s Fiancée    The Money Trail

Edrick’s POVMy visit to Desmond Smith's house had been almost useless. His daughter had no idea about anything, except for one thing she assured me of: her father did have another boss. A boss she knew nothing about. She had thought that boss was me, Edrick Vale, but she had also mentioned that he was older than me.I tried to think of someone in our elite society who had that much money and a connection to Aria.I stopped by the private investigator's office. He was working on another case, but I made him put it aside and focus on mine for the day."Check everything," I said.We went through Aria's socials, her relationships, and the people she had been in contact with. I'd never really had the time to investigate everyone in her life, but right now, it was necessary.Maybe the person was someone we knew, someone she had a very good relationship with.I tried to think it through, but nothing made sense.According to my investigation, the only people Aria had real contact with were

  • Forced to Marry my Sister’s Fiancée    Alone with my enemy

Aria’s POVThe next morning, they weren't joking. They were not fucking joking. After breakfast, we were lined up to return to our cells, but Liza and I were pulled out of the queue.Maya watched me with dread and pity as the guards escorted everyone else back to their cells, leaving me standing there with Liza, who had a satisfied grin on her face the entire time. The guards took us to a part of the kitchen we'd never been taken to before. It was at the back, where all the dishes were sent. There was a huge pile of plates and cups from the breakfast we'd just had.We were given hairnets, scrubs, sponges, soapy water, and running water to rinse the dishes afterward.I looked around, thinking there would be other prisoners washing dishes alongside us, but it was just the two of us.All those dishes for just the two of us?I wanted to scream. But that wasn't what scared me. The real danger came when the guard stepped out and closed the door behind us.I gulped. It was just me and her.I

  • Forced to Marry my Sister’s Fiancée    They want me Dead

Aria’s POVWith the cold silver dagger pressed against my stomach, I felt my life flash before my eyes.No. She was going to kill me.I just knew it.Her grip on the knife was tight as she pulled it back and plunged it towards me with so much force. We were packed tightly together, suffocated by the crowd, so there was no way for me to escape.I closed my eyes and waited for the friction, but it never came.Instead, I felt a force pulling me away. I felt my body sliding across the floor, away from her.It happened so fast that it took me a second to realize someone was pulling me.I looked up.Maya.Relief washed over me. I'd never been so grateful to see anyone before.I touched my stomach where the knife had been pressed against me. She'd managed to leave a deep cut on my waist, but she hadn't gotten the chance to plunge that dagger into me.“What the hell?” Maya helped me to my feet, and I stood there, holding my stomach."You're bleeding. We need to take you to the nurse.”"Thank

  • Forced to Marry my Sister’s Fiancée    Failed Escape

Edrick’s POVThe night was cold and beautiful. Alina was leaning against my bare chest as I raked my hands through her hair.My laptop was on the desk, and with my other hand, I was scrolling through the documents. Patrick had assured me that the money wasn't from our business, but I had to be sure.We were enjoying the silence. Our peaceful silence was broken by my phone ringing.John.I picked it up as quickly as I could."Hello?""Edrick, we have some updates on Desmond.""What happened?""We have good news and bad news," he said."Just tell me what happened, John." My heart was beating fast. "We found Desmond.""In New York?""Yes, in New York.""So he's in police custody?""He was in police custody," John said."So what happened?""Well, he was brought in for questioning, and he refused to admit to anything. We didn't have an arrest warrant, so...""Why didn't you just..." I stopped myself."The police couldn't force anything from him. He refused to admit being connected to this

  • Forced to Marry my Sister’s Fiancée    Blade Against my Skin

Aria’s POVI spent the rest of the evening avoiding the girl with the dagger.I didn't know what else to call her. That was all I knew about her: the girl with the dagger.Who walked around in prison with a dagger? Even Kansas, who was a bully and sometimes got a whip, wasn't free enough to have a dagger in here.Who was she?She had just moved in, yet she looked like she wasn't scared of anything. And that smile. That smile she gave me was... creepy. It scared me.Forget the smile and the knife. Why wasn't she staring at anyone else? Why was it always me?Or maybe I was just imagining things."Dinner time, Aria. Aren't you coming?" one of my roommates, Maya, asked.Of all three of them, she was the only one who managed to talk to me once in a while. She was less mean than the others, and although they'd reduced the bullying, they still treated me like some outsider who disgusted them.Baby murderer, they called me.So they did their best to avoid talking to me.But Maya had been quit
