I took my time to explain everything that we were going to do while he listened with keen attention. When I was finally done, he leaned back in his seat and let out a low breath, like he was trying to make sense of what I’d just said. I didn’t interrupt and I just let him process it all.

“No.” he finally let out while shaking his head slowly.

“Excuse me?” I blinked in unbelief, hoping that I'd misheard him.

“I’m not doing this with you, Sophie.” His voice was calm but firm, like he’d already made up his mind.

“This isn’t some petty high school game where we sabotage people’s lives because we can’t have what we want. I’m not doing it.” he added while I smiled, mostly out of amusement.

“You think I’m playing a game here?”

“No, I don't think you're playing a game. I think you’re obsessed,” he said.

“And that's actually none of my business. Viola made her choice and if she’s marrying someone else, that’s on her. I'm not getting dragged into your little revenge plot. Even if I w

Sophie I made sure to get to the restaurant before him. I always do that because I like to first observe the crowd, the waitstaff, the lighting and everything else. I picked a spot in the far corner of the private lounge, one that gave me a clear view of the entrance. It was dim enough to feel intimate but not too dark to look suspicious. The jazz band playing in the background helped set the tone which was just perfect for what I wanted.Jake was exactly three minutes late and he stepped in looking hesitant. Just like me, he scanned the whole place but the only difference was he looked like he wasn’t sure what he was walking into. I on the other hand was so sure.Calvin had done well finding him for me. He gave me all his details and I handled the rest. I reached out to him, fixed a meeting and here we are. He seemed more different than what I expected though. He was taller and more rugged but with something boyish about his eyes, like he was still figuring life out. Viola definit

  • Forever Contracted to the Billionaire’s Heart   What is she up to this time?

MarkI so much hate this part of weddings. Having to get outfits is so annoying and to think it’s for a wedding that I have no interest in whatsoever. That was why I asked Sophie to take care of it but the high and mighty Barry had other plans. I’m not even in the mood for any of this but I know he wouldn’t shut up about it which is the reason I’m now standing still in the middle of Stefano's Atelier, while he measured my inseam and now commenting on the tone of my frame.“Mark Rowland,” Stefano greeted me like I was royalty returning from exile. “The last time I saw you, you were refusing to wear cufflinks.” He added while I grunted. “Well you know me well, and yes, I still don’t like them.” I chimed in while he only smiled.“But he’s still wearing them,” Barry jumped in from the couch, flipping through a glossy catalogue like he was shopping for a yacht. “We’re not here for a board meeting, we’re here for your wedding. You should look the part.” He added while I just ignored him.

  • Forever Contracted to the Billionaire’s Heart   The damn kiss…

MarkI barely had time to register what was happening when Viola let out a scream that damn near pierced my skull.“Jesus, will you just stop shouting!” I barked, the sound sharp and raw from my throat as I instinctively pushed her aside. I didn’t realize how fast and hard the push was until I saw her body wobbled. I saw it before she hit the ground. Her knees buckled backward like she was about to crash, and in that split second, everything inside me went still. The baby!!! My parents were going to have my head if anything happened to their precious heir. I didn’t think further, I lunged forward, catching her just before her back could meet the floor. My arms wrapped around her waist, the slick heat of her skin instantly pressed against mine.We were both naked and breathless, and for just a second, time stopped. I don’t even know what it was… I couldn’t tell if it was the heat or the fact that out naked body was on each other. Or maybe the weight of two people who’ve been toeing t

  • Forever Contracted to the Billionaire’s Heart   Both naked again…

Viola I didn’t even know when I slept off last night. Mark had really pissed me off but somehow, I had a really good sleep and didn’t even know how the night went by so quickly.I blinked my eyes open slowly, the faint morning light leaking through the heavy curtains. The dream I had replayed in my head and I couldn’t get enough of it. I was enjoying my old life where everything was perfect and sweet.Looking around the room now, I couldn’t understand what was happening because for a second, I forgot where I was. The sheets smelled unfamiliar, and there was a strong masculine energy in the air. The bed was far too firm, too cold and that was when it hit me. I was in Mark’s room in his bed… our room apparently.I sighed and rolled over to the other side as the reality hit me deeper. It was empty and cold and I stared at the smooth, undisturbed sheets. Of course there was no trace of him around, he must have gone to work early. He probably couldn’t wait to get away from me after the

  • Forever Contracted to the Billionaire’s Heart   The fake dinner

ViolaI was really hoping Mark wouldn’t make it to dinner. I just wanted to eat in peace without seeing his wicked face. We have been trying to stay out of each other’s lanes despite sharing a room. It was working all well but Frank just had to come up with this dinner tonight and how we all have to be a happy family.Mark was running late and I was so happy until he suddenly showed up. I rolled my eyes and Brenda almost caught me. I quickly forced out a smile and then got Mark a plate just to throw her off.We started eating and I spent most of the time wearing a smile that hurt my cheeks and nodding at things I barely heard. Mark sat beside me, close enough that our arms brushed every now and then, but not once did he look at me like a man should look at his fiancé or even like a man who cared.Still, we played our parts and even when Brenda asked how we were adjusting, he reached for my hand under the table and I let him. He squeezed it like a silent warning and then looked at me
