~Serena~

“Are they Obsidian’s men?” I fired when Viggo and Spade stepped inside the apartment. They just came back from the cleaning crew. I had been anxiously waiting for them to come back because I wasn’t allowed to deal with Blackmist’s contact in the city anymore.

In our line of work, we have a cleaning crew that takes care of our mess to keep our existence a secret. And the wait had been killing me all morning.

Spade shook his head. “They have no physical marks that would tell us which group they are from. Even their scent can’t tell us anything. We told the crew to tell us what they would find out.”

He meant that if they have chips embedded in their bodies. “I hope they find one,” I said and slumped down on the couch. “That sniper… he was really good, and if he had wanted to kill us, he could’ve done that.”

This only means that whoever was coming after us didn’t want us dead yet. And who were they after? Me, Lia? I doubt they were after Viggo and Spade. These two were as slick a

~Serena~My wolf hissed as I called her back, annoyed that her freedom under the moonlight was cut short. ‘We’re not done running. I just need to deal with this,’ I told her. She huffed, stomping with elephant footsteps as she sat and waited for me to finish this quickly. In my human form, I rose to my feet and glared at Viggo with blazing eyes. I had to speak to him in my human form.“What the hell, Vi?” I groaned out, the scrapes on my legs and body quickly healing.“You were too fast,” he reasoned, as if that justified his wolf barreling towards mine.“And? You had to run me over? It’s a full moon, you dummy.”“I need to talk to you,” he said, walking towards me, buck naked. Before I was mated to Declan, I didn’t mind seeing Viggo naked. We were werewolves, and nudity is not trivial to us, but I kept my eyes on his face, glowering when he blatantly licked my body with his hungry gaze. He had never looked at me like that before. Yes, Viggo was vocal about wanting to be my mate, but

  • Forever Yours, Alpha   97|The Run

~Serena~I feel it in my skin, the power of the full moon as it draws nearer. The clock was ticking, and the members of the Fallenmist pack had started to fill out the complex.I can’t thank Alpha Seth and Cora enough for allowing Spade and Viggo to join the run. I wasn’t big on sentiments, but there’s a mixed emotion stirring in my chest knowing this could be the last full moon run I would have with them. There’s a dull roar of conversation filling the silence of the night. Even the members who choose to live in the city come here every full moon for the run.“This is nostalgic,” Viggo murmured. He was standing tall on my right while Spade was on my left, two towering werewolves that may have looked like my bodyguards from afar.“Tell me about it,” Spade said. “I haven’t been in this kind of crowd on a full moon for a long time.”They have experience running with their previous pack. I, on the other hand, am inexperienced with massive crowds. The Blackmist pack isn’t exactly a big cr

~Serena~I didn’t come back into Spade’s apartment after my conversation with Gladia. I had a lot on my mind, finding loopholes in my deal with Gladia, Lia, and whoever was listening in on her. Lia wanted to be here, that’s for sure. It could be part of their plan. I need to work this information to my advantage and not the other way around.“Serena? This is a pleasant surprise,” Cora greeted me with the warmest smile, drawing me in for a hug.Alpha Seth gave me a pass into their pack. The guards let me in without asking further questions. I just wanted to go for a run, clear my head without looking over my shoulder. Alpha Seth allowed her to stay in the city, but the pack grounds were off-limits.I embraced Cora back, finally feeling a little sense of peace since last night. Cora’s motherly instinct kicked in. She sensed something was up just from the way I hugged her.“What’s wrong?” She asked, keeping me at arm’s length, a deep crease on her forehead as she scanned my face.“Everyt

~Serena~“What’s your deal with Lia? Why are you protecting her?” Viggo asked, not even bothering to lower his voice. After that heartfelt conversation on the side of the road, the three of us finally decided to continue our coffee session at Spade’s apartment. But instead of coffee, we were drinking whiskey. We grabbed Chinese takeout and pizza on the way for a super late midnight snack. We invited Lia to eat with us, but she refused. She locked herself in the guest room, but that wouldn’t stop her hyperactive listening senses from hearing Viggo’s bitter tone.“She’s the reason your life is a mess in the first place,” Viggo added.“I was wondering the same thing,” Spade seconded.“I don’t know, pity, maybe?” I murmured my truth. Their concern and animosity towards Lia were justifiable, so I get it, really. I would say the same if I were in their shoes.“Pity?” Viggo raised an eyebrow. “Did you ever think if she felt the same for you after what she did?”I shrugged. “I don’t care, and

  • Forever Yours, Alpha   93|Romantic Eyes

~Declan~I stared down at the fuming girl before me. She was so mad, she would turn me to ashes if her eyes could shoot fire. Red flames tainted her cheeks, and molten gold swirled in her eyes. She clenches her hands too tightly, enough to draw blood from her palms.I sighed and turned to Jared and H. “Give us the room.”‘I need to hear this, Alpha,’ H spoke to me through the mate bond.‘Later, H,’ I answered him.H can wait, but this angry little werewolf can’t.As soon as Jared and H were out of the room, I turned back to the window and admired the view of Embercrest, calming my weary mind.“How old are you, Ara?” I asked, keeping my voice calm and friendly, and as an alpha, I am never friendly. I am always in business mode unless I’m with Jared.“Don’t change the topic,” the fumes of her anger slithering towards my neck. She has already harnessed the power of the alpha blood in her system. She could command a regular wolf when she’s mad.I tilted my head in her direction, plasterin
