CHAPTER FIVE

On getting home the house was usually quiet,I was thankful because I was in no mood for scolding.I decided to go get a quick shower and rest before everyone returns.

  “I lay down in my bed trying to forget all that has happened for the day.

    “I suddenly snapped my eyes open,when I realised I just let a stranger steal my first kiss!

“How dare him touch me!? All everyone wants is just to take advantage of me,that was “my was first kiss…now a stranger took it away,” I lay down in my bed as tears streamed down my face,

      Eva dear! Are you home already?

I heard my dad's voice from the hallway,I hurriedly wiped my tears away.

“I Walked towards the door and opened it”

F-father?

  “Am glad you are home can we talk for a while,dad asked?

  Sure dad please have a sit,I pulled out that only manageable stool in my room for  him while I sat on the bed,

Is everything ok dad I asked ,my heart was beating none stop as I have never seen my father looked so worried like this before, 

“For the first time I could see my father wasn't able to look me in eye while talking to me”

 “ Dear there's actually something I feel like you should know”

 

Did you cry dear?”

    N-no I didn't am just exhausted from today's activities that's all,

“By the way tell me, what the problem is dad 

He sighed heavily looking hesitant in what he wants to say “Eva listen I think it's time for you and Marcus to take things to another level.

“What!! Get marriage…I asked surprisedly because that's the last thing my dad would ever talk to me about”

Dad..how could you say something so ridiculous,I asked in a Shaky voice”

   

 

“I know how hard it is for you to stay in this house, Eva, while I am away I know how much your step mother treats you. Your step sister is no exception, they treat you like a servant, ain’t you tired of that ? Don’t you sometimes wish you could just leave here and be free? I mean, I just want you to be happy, Eva” I know you might not approve of my decision now but just know that whatever I am doing is for your own good my dear,

    “Left with no choice I had to tell dad everything that transpired on that day 

   Dad,“I spoke with tears in my eyes.. I don't  have any intention of getting married anymore all I just want is just to finish my studies, and-d besides I-i don't even have anyone in my life yet” 

  “What if I have someone in mind already for you,

I furrowed my brows, “D-Dad? What are you saying? I just survived a serious heartbreak and you are already planning to have me get married ? I don’t want to get married yet, Father, I want to fulfill my dreams, I just want to make you proud, a-and I want to marry the man that I really love.”

 

“I still think —

Dad, please I don't mind the treatment or serving anyone besides I can study and join you soon at work also. “So don't worry “I said with a smile”even though I still feel a sense uneasy in my heart”

  I will be down in a bit and I will make your favourite green  tea for you.

  Smiles… alright dear take your time “

“And yes we will be going out for our family dinner tonight be ready ok dear “

I nodded, sure dad I will”

 I would love to introduce you to someone important, be ready  okay ?

    “Sure,”

  Dad stood at the door  and turned at me” 

“Dear just know that I love you always no matter what happens “

   “ I love you too father.”
