Then, I immediately drove away.

After sending Olivia home, I asked Sam to join me at the bar.

After I told him what I had seen, he started laughing uncontrollably. He kept reaching over to ruffle my hair.

“Hey, don’t be so stingy. I’m just trying to comfort you, let me pat your head.”

“Get out! I asked you to analyze this for me. Don’t fool around.”

“What’s left to analyze? If Olivia really loves Martin and still wants to marry you, it’s obvious that she’s after your money.”

“But I was already estranged from my family when I got together with her. She knew that.”

“Ethan, those are your parents. Would you realistically be estranged from them forever? Besides, Madison is right there. She’s beautiful, and you’ve known her for so long. Why are you dating outside the pool? Now you know why you should listen to your parents.”

When Sam mentioned that, I started blushing.

Back then, Madison’s parents lost their lives when they saved my parents. She was only fourteen. My father immediately adopted her.

I also relied on her a lot when I was younger. I loved to follow her around.

However, when I was in my last semester in college, I found out that my parents were raising her so she could be their daughter-in-law.

I was young and rash, so I fought with them over it.

“You’re the ones who owe her parents for saving your lives. Why do you have to sacrifice me? I want freedom! I want to have the chance to find someone I love!”

Coincidentally, I met Olivia at the same time. She was in her sophomore year.

She was wearing a white dress, and she stood among the field of flowers. I would never forget her smile. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life.

I immediately fell in love with her. I felt it was fate. Even the universe was helping me to get away from my family.

After my parents found out that I was dating her, they scolded me. I immediately left home and never went back.

I started my own business with Sam, and my company managed to scale up in just two years.

During that time, Olivia told me that her best friend, Martin’s company, was facing some issues, and she asked me for help.

Hence, I outsourced a lot of my projects to Martin’s company. Very soon, I managed to save his business.

Olivia had finally graduated, and I immediately proposed to her. I also reserved the most luxurious wedding venue in this city. I wanted to prove to everyone that I could have my own career and happiness without my family’s support.

However, I did not expect to be proven wrong.

Sam sighed when he saw the regret on my face.

“For so many years, Madison has been supporting such a huge family business on top of helping you to take care of your parents. She has loved you in secret for so long. What are you doing? No wonder you got cheated on!”

My eyes widened in shock. “You said she’s been in love with me all along?”

“Of course. Why do you think our company can progress this fast? She’s been helping us in secret, and she told me not to let you know.”

At the same time, my phone started ringing. It was the person in charge of the wedding venue.

“Mr. Anderson, I’m calling to confirm that the wedding will proceed in three days as scheduled.”

“Yes, we’re going ahead with it.”

After I ended the call, Sam shot me a dirty look.

“You’re so dumb. Why are you still marrying Olivia? From now on, I’m going to cut you off!”

I yelled at his retreating back, “You’d better arrive on time for the wedding! If you’re late, I’m going to kill you!”
