LOGINSienna's POV
I smooch at the shiny oven door, staring into the mirror. I used to look heavier, but now my face looks softer than it did before. I had not seen such a small smile in ages.Liam suddenly slipped my mind. His eyes remained vividly in the memory of his farewell. Something that I hadn't seen often before had a genuine authenticity to it. His head was gently lowered, his tie was changed and sometimes I could see him staring at me. The man's gaze was not a cold stare, but aSienna’s POVThat night it was getting late when I heard the front door open.I was sitting in the living room. I turned around right away. The house was so quiet that even the smallest sound seemed loud. The clock on the wall said it was eleven at night. The light from the chandelier made the room feel warm. Also a little lonely. The television was still on in front of me. I was not paying attention to it.My mind was else.Over the few weeks something had changed. I do not know what it was. It made me feel uneasy every night.I heard footsteps coming from the entrance. They were heavy and slow like someone was really tired.I stood up when Noah finally came inside."Noah, are you just getting home again?"Noah only nodded a bit without really looking at me. He seemed exhausted.Under the living room lights I could see his face clearly
Noah's POV I took a breath and leaned against the car for a moment but my mind had already moved far beyond just this track. Because this was one of three things I had to do painting, racing and one last thing that was just as difficult.Boxing. My hands clenched unconsciously as I thought about it knowing that the last part wouldn’t be easy to get through.Maybe it would be the hardest of them all. I had no choice except to keep moving forward. If this was what I had to do to prove something then I would finish it no matter how far I had to go.Sweat dripped from my chin onto the ring floor. My breathing felt heavy as if something was pressing against my chest from the inside.I raised my gloves in front of my face. I tried to stay focused. My opponent stood a step away ready to strike. The coach stood at the side of the ring watching every movement closely, his sharp eyes missing nothing. "Don’t drop your g
Noah's POVThe engine was really loud on the training track. I pushed the gas pedal down more. Felt the strong vibration of the engine all the way to my fingertips. The wind hit my helmet visor as the car went through a curve. The track was not very big. It was tough enough. The asphalt was a bit rough with sharp turns that made the driver stay focused. My hands held the steering wheel tightly. Focus.I slowed down a bit before the turn then turned the wheel fast. The tires screeched loudly. My body was pushed to the side by centrifugal force but I kept the car steady. However as I exited the turn something happened. The car in front of me suddenly slowed down. I slammed on the brakes. The tires screeched louder this time. My car almost hit the back of it a few centimeters apart. My heart was pounding hard.My reflexes kicked in away as I jerked the wheel to the left avoiding the collision just in time. My car
Noah's POV It was quiet after I spoke. I was standing in front of the canvas with a pencil in my hand not moving. In the end Gabriel finally spoke up. "You are not really going to do all those things are you?” I smiled a little. "Why not?” "Because it is crazy. You have never been serious about painting, racing or boxing.” I looked at the line I drew. It was not good yet.. It was a start. "I can learn.” Gabriel did not think that was an idea. "This is not about if you can or not. It is about why you're doing all this.” I did not say anything for a moment. I thought about Rachel and how she looked at me that night. It was cold and challenging like I was not good enough. "To prove something.” Gabriel asked, "To who?” "To Rachel.” “If she still does not car
Noah's POVA bunch of people were sitting in front of their canvases. The sound of brushes on canvas was really soft. Filled the whole space.A woman near the reception desk turned to me. "Good morning, how can I help you?"She was being really kind.I walked up to her. "I want to sign up for a painting class."She asked "Beginner class?"I shook my head because I had drawn before. When I was younger I used to draw to pass the time.It was not serious or anything. It was enough to get my hands used to lines and shapes. The woman took a form from the desk. "We have a few classes. Basic, technical and realistic painting."I looked at the list. In my mind I was only thinking about one thing. Steven. If Rachel liked his paintings then I had to be better than him.So I asked the woman, "Which one is the hardest?"
Noah’s POVI sat in my car staring at the campus building for a second. Then I turned the steering wheel.Today I decided not to go to class.Usually I would. Head straight to class.. This morning felt different. Rachel’s words from night kept replaying in my mind. She said I should try painting like Steven. I should become the number one racer. I should win a boxing tournament.I almost laughed when I remembered it.Rachel really thought that was a way to make me give up.My car moved out of the campus area and onto the road. The morning air was fresh. The streets weren’t too crowded yet. I leaned back against the seat. Let out a slow breath.“I said I’d do it." I said to myself. To people it might sound crazy. A regular college student suddenly wants to learn painting. Join motorcycle racing. Enter a boxing tournament for a girl. But I didn’t care.
Sienna's POV The answer was simple. Honest. And it left no room for pity or obligation.I smiled and nodded. “Alright. Mommy will say that.”Noah’s face looked relieved, as if a small burden had been lifted from his shoulders. He then turned to another shelf and picked up
Sienna's POV “I’ll walk you inside,” Liam said.I took his hand and gently shook my head. “It’s okay, Liam. You should go straight to work. I can handle this on my own.”He looked at me as if making sure. “You’re sure?”I smiled. “I’m sure. I’ll be fine.”Just as Liam nodded
Sienna's POV Liam’s car moved slowly toward Noah’s school. The morning air was still fresh, the sky a clear blue without even a trace of dark clouds, as if it knew today was going to matter. Noah sat in the back seat, clutching his blue bag tightly the bag that held a gift for Bam. He looked
Sienna's POV I stared at the small name in the bottom right corner, the cover artist’s name and my brow immediately furrowed.“Who is this?” I murmured. The name sounded unfamiliar, and there was no other information on the cover. No address, no phone number, not even a small website.
