Liam's POV

Willy nodded. A trace of bitterness flashed in his eyes. "I get it sir. I’m not requesting anything from you. I merely believed it was crucial that you were aware of the truth. Emily isn’t merely exhausted. She appears confused.”

Quietness remained for moments.

The gentle buzz of the air conditioner occupied the space like a burden settling in.

"And I need to be truthful, " Willy murmured softly. "Our reason for becoming the group of managers wasn't for the paycheck. We simply didn’t want her to collapse entirely without anyone realizing."

I gazed at him attempting to discern the honesty on his face. An unexpected feeling of admiration welled up inside me. He wasn’t talking as a member of the agency. He was expressing himself as a person who truly cared.

“I know you put your effort in," I remarked.

Willy lowered his head. "Thanks. However we’re uncertain about any options. If she reje

Sienna's POV The words made the room feel tight all of a sudden. The room was so warm a moment ago. Liam rubbed his face. He leaned toward me. Liam said "I am sorry. I did not know she was still trying like this." Liam looked really sorry. "I honestly did not know she was still trying like this," and Liam sounded like he meant it. Liam was talking about her. What she was doing. Liam seemed to be really upset about what she was doing. The room was still feeling tight because of what Liam said about her and what she was doing.I told them that I know this thing. I said it in a voice so nobody would hear me. My friend and I had a good time laughing together.” I said, “alright.” Then I rubbed Noah's cheek. Mommy needs a minute to drink her coffee. Noah nodded like he really understood. Then he went back to the floor. He started making noises like an airplane. Noah was making those airplane noises again. He was having a time. Noah was really into making those airplane sounds. It was pretty funny to watch Noah making those airplane noises. Noah was having much fun making those airplane sounds. Liam leaned in close to me. He spoke in a soft voice. "You look really tired." Liam was being very gentle when he said that I looked tired. Liam said it like he really cared about me and Liam did not want to hurt my feelings when Liam told me that Liam thought I looked tired. I nodded a little. "I am feeling a bit better now th

Sienna's POV My stomach felt warm and happy when we were done eating. The food was really good. Noah had eaten a lot of food. He even finished two bowls of the corn soup that Noah made for us. That corn soup was delicious. Liam turned off the oven after we were done using it. Then Liam cleaned up some of the kitchen. I started picking up the plates and the forks and taking them to the sink so we could wash them.I said to Noah, “Do you want to help Mommy wash the dishes?”I looked at Noah when I asked Noah that.Noah turned around. His face was a mess. It was all covered in cake crumbs. He said "I do not want to do that Mommy. I have to eat my cake." Noah really wanted to eat his cake. His cake was very important to Noah.He went back to looking at the cake box that Liliana had bought. This cake box was really important to him now. Sienna's POV I nodded in agreement. There were still many things we hadn’t talked about, many old wounds that hadn’t fully healed. But tonight, in this simple kitchen, I didn’t want to unpack any of it. I just wanted to enjoy the safety that was quietly growing. Noah came back with wet hands and a wide grin. “Mommy, can we eat now?” “Soon,” I said. I glanced at Liam, then back at Noah. “The chef and his assistant need to get ready first.” Noah nodded seriously and climbed back onto his stool. I watched his small back, then turned to Liam. Gratitude I couldn’t hide flowed quietly and sincerely through me. I took a breath and said, my voice honest and almost trembling, “I’m happy seeing you like this.” Liam held my gaze for a moment, his eyes warm. “We are too.” I placed the bag of pastries Liliana had given me on the counter. “Oh, there are cakes. Liliana bought some for Noah too.” “Cake? Yay!”

Sienna's POV Liam chuckled softly. “If Mommy likes it, you can become this house’s official chef.”“Really?” Noah’s eyes widened. “Chef Noah?”“Really,” Liam said firmly. “But chefs have to be patient. Soup can’t be forced to cook faster.”Noah nodded seriously, then stopped stirring. “Soup doesn't take too long, okay? Mommy will get hungry.”I held back a smile. His innocence hit my chest gently, pushing the day’s exhaustion and tension farther away. I noticed how Liam instinctively kept Noah at a safe distance from the stove, one hand always ready at the small of his back movements far too natural to be accidental. He didn’t say much, but his care was evident in every small gesture.Liam picked up another wooden spoon and stirred a second pot. “This one’s for Mommy. The other one’s for you. Mommy’s soup is softer.”“Because Mommy’s tired?” Noah asked innocently.“Yes,” Liam answered simply. “Mommy had a tiring day.”My heart gave a small ache.
