MasukWilona's POV I could not count too much on him. In case Joshua really decided to change his mind, I had to be ready to make all the preparations myself.I could not allow a single person who was beginning to feel guilt to ruin the plan I had prepared. I opened the messages app and started writing something to Liam."Enjoy your vacation."I stopped right before sending it. Having pondered for a while, I deleted the phrase and rewrote it."Hope you have a good trip. We will talk when you come back."I read the phrase again. It was too nice.I deleted it.This time, I wrote a shorter phrase."I know that you are in Hawaii."I looked at it for a while and then pressed send. Having sent it, I put the phone on the table and waited. One minute had passed. No reply.Five minutes. Still no reply.I smiled slightly. I expected it from him. Right now, Liam most likely was sitting next to Sienna and did not want to risk looking at my message.
Wilona's POV Since this morning, I felt that something was odd at the office. Normally, even if Liam's plan was full, I could see him a couple of times whether he came out of a meeting room, walked to the elevator or just passed by the workers area. But today was unlike any other. I had looked down the hall to his office many times.Empty.I checked the clock on my screen again and it was nearly noon.“Where is he?”I shifted my seat a bit while seeing the folks go back and forth. There was no hint of Liam, so I got up and strolled to his secretary's desk.“Excuse me.”Liam's secretary looked up. “Yes, can I help you?”I tried to smile. “Where is Mr. Liam?”The helper looked a bit puzzled. “Mr. Liam?”“Yes.”“Oh, you don't know yet?”I shook my head. “He is on leave.”I fell silent. “On leave?”
Sienna's POV The light turned green, and the car started moving again. I leaned back against the seat and looked out the window, feeling a sense of calm that I had not experienced in a long time. However, a few minutes later, Liam's phone, which was sitting in the storage compartment between us, vibrated. I instinctively turned toward it.Liam glanced at his phone as well. We were both silent for a few seconds.“Don't look,” I said.He looked at me. “Why?”“We made a promise.”Liam smiled faintly. “Right.”His phone vibrated again, this time for longer. I watched Liam's face and noticed a small change that was difficult to explain. His smile disappeared for a moment, and his hand moved as if he wanted to pick up the phone. However, he stopped himself.“I won't look at it,” he said.I nodded. “Good.”A few seconds later, the vibration stopped. I tried not to think about it, even though an uncomfortable feeling was slowly growing in my
Sienna's POV I looked at the suitcases neatly arranged near the front door while checking one more time to make sure we had not forgotten anything. My passport was already inside my small bag, and my wallet, phone, charger, medication, and a few personal belongings were safely packed as well.I took a deep breath. Finally, we were really leaving. After the exhausting weeks we had been through, I wanted to believe that this trip could be a new beginning for us.I turned toward Liam, who was carrying two suitcases toward the car. “Don't let those get mixed up,” I said.Liam turned around. “Which ones?”“The big black suitcase is mine.”He chuckled softly. “Do you really think I would bring someone else's suitcase?”“I'm just reminding you.”“I've been your husband for years. How could I not know which suitcase belongs to my wife?”I smiled. “Sometimes, you really are forgetful.”Liam walked over and took the small bag from my hand.
Liam's POV I continued to stare at the screen of my phone. In a few moments, another message appeared."I know you are going tomorrow."Immediately, my heart started to beat very fast. I rapidly wrote back a message."Do not disturb us."After a few moments, there was a reply. "There is no intention to disturb you."I frowed. Afterward, I got another message."A secret will not disappear when you go to far places."At once, I switched off my phone. With clutched fists, I wanted to write back but I knew that it would lead to nothing good.I inhaled deeply before getting out of the chair. I won't let Wilona spoil this vacation.Or at least, I'll try.It was late, and I figured Sienna must have taken her shower. I went straight into the bedroom but paused for a few seconds before opening the door.I needed to look normal and smile because I couldn't let Sienna become suspicious of me.I entered the bedroom. The bedroom lights were lo
Liam's POV The confusion in Sienna’s eyes was clear to see. She kept on staring at me after the question about Joshua and Wilona, and I knew that she was waiting for my reply.I also understood that the more time I was spending in silence, the more questions she would ask me. I held Sienna's hand right away."Don't overthink it."Sienna kept on looking at me. "Perhaps, Joshua said all this without giving anything much thought.""Really?"I nodded my head. "He's still quite young. Perhaps, he heard something about Wilona from somewhere and decided to warn you."Sienna frowned slightly. "But why Wilona?"I paused for a second. I did not know what to say that would be completely safe."I don't know."I smiled lightly. "Perhaps, he just felt that it was his duty to remind you to be cautious with others."However, Sienna did not seem convinced instantly by what I had said. I could clearly see it from her expression as she turned away and was d
Sienna’s POV My stomach felt warm and full, the lingering aroma of seafood fried rice still rising from the plate in front of me as I leaned back into the plush seat of the family-style restaurant. The cool air from the AC brushed gently against my face—a welcome contrast after a long, emoti
Sienna's POVI never imagined I would be sitting at the same table with them. Not in a situation like this. Not in a 24-hour family diner with soft yellow lights and the faint sound of frying coming from the kitchen. But here I am now, sitting next to Noah, flanked by Liliana, while Liam and
Liam’s POV The morning was still gray when I opened my eyes. Sunlight hadn’t fully broken through the curtains yet, but the sound of last night’s rain had been replaced by a silence that felt oddly irritating. Beside me, Emily was still asleep, tucked under the blanket up to her chin. Her face loo
Liam’s POV The sun hadn’t fully risen yet, but the doorbell rang loudly and repeatedly. I had just finished washing my face—hair still a mess, wearing a wrinkled shirt—when I dragged myself toward the door. Before I could open it, Noah’s excited voice rang out as he bolted from the living room.
