Aria’s POV

I woke up gasping for air.

My chest felt tight, like something heavy was pressing down on me. Sweat clung to my skin, cold and sticky. For a few seconds, I didn’t know where I was. The ceiling above me wasn’t familiar. The sheets weren’t mine. The air smelled different—like musk and masculine.

Then it hit me. Everything. The memories slammed into me all at once, and I froze.

Right. I was brought here. Saved.

I blinked a few times, trying to steady my breathing. My head was spinning, and my throat was dry. I tried to sit up.

My dream flashed through my mind.

“Stay away. He’s dangerous.”

The words echoed, and I had to shake my head to push them away. It didn’t make sense. The same man who could’ve ended me… saved me instead.
