Damian Stormcrest walked through the castle like he owned it.

Yes, he was in charge

Not because he was the Alpha, but because he had the weight of the pack on his shoulders.

His tall figure, broad shoulders and a hard body made him look like he was sculpted for battles.

He moved like a force in the castle, his moves were smooth, calculated and controlled. His dark hair fell a little across his forehead, which made his face look a bit softer yet tight.

His eyes were gray and really piercing. They could make you stuck in one place without him saying a word.

People did not look him in the eye easily, they could feel it in their bones and in their chest.

Then there was the Wolf Sigil on his chest. It was not very clear but you could see it.

Nobody talked about it when he was around. It was not a symbol, it was a reminder of his role in the pack.

Damian Stormcrest moved like a wind, quiet. You could not ignore his presence. His wide shoulders, muscles and a small waist showed he was really strong. He was fierce.. Inside him was a battle waiting to unfold.

He was not invincible, he was just really good at hiding his feelings. He had learned how to cover up his doubts and fears over the years. He had a responsibility taking care of the pack and it was not easy.

He could make everyone be quiet with one look but at night when nobody was watching his thoughts got the better of him. He felt lonely. It bothered him.

Being the Alpha was not about fighting, it was about making decisions and giving up things nobody saw.

People were scared of him, still they respected him. They followed him because of how he looked on the outside..

Deep down Damian Stormcrest wondered if he could be free like every other member of the pack, making life choices, living with the consequences and not being blamed for it.

But as the Alpha, his decisions are for the unity and future of the pack, not his.

Then there was Selene. Whenever she was close something inside him moved.

He didn’t want to think about it. But there was this connection between them that he could not ignore.

The symbol on his chest reminded him that this role was real even if he doubted it.

Damian Stormcrest was the Alpha. He was in control. He was the leader his pack needed.. Even with all his strength there was a part of him that was weak, a part that wanted something he could never really have.

And that was, ‘not carrying all the weight of his pack as the Alpha.’

The Moon Goddess had marked him.

He had always known this.

The small Wolf Sigil on his chest was a silent reminder that the Moon Goddess had chosen a path for him.

One he hadn’t asked for but fully understands.

Damian had learned to ignore this reminder over the years.

Damian understood why the Moon Goddess had marked him. It has to be for something great. But now this mark was starting to feel different.

At first the difference was small. Then it became harder to ignore.

Damian could not explain why Selene unsettled him in a way that he did not like.

Selene was quiet and reserved, always looking down like she was trying not to be seen. Selene was a maid and an orphan, someone who did not belong in his world.

Damian noticed Selene more than he should and this irritated him so much.

Damian had been around women like Seraphina his life, women who were strong and confident but Selene was not like that.

Selene did not fit into Damian's world or his expectations. But somehow she kept curling up into his thoughts.

When Selene was near him, he felt something shift, something Damian could not explain a pull that was not strong. But enough for him to notice and this frustrated Damian.

Damian did not like things he could not understand. Selene was becoming one of those things.

Every time Damian saw Selene something, inside him stirred it was not desire or curiosity it was something deeper and this put Damian on edge.

Because whatever this feeling was it was not going away.

The silence that followed was thick. It made Damian's skin prickle.Damian's senses sharpened instantly. Every instinct within him snapped to attention. The storm outside masked sounds, but not this one. This sound had been close. Too close. He looked around the corridor. It was dark and narrow. The flickering torches cast shadows on the stone walls. Whoever or whatever had made that sound hadn’t moved far.“Show yourself " he commanded. His voice was low. Carried the weight of authority. There was no response. But Damian didn’t move. He didn’t need to. His presence alone was enough to make most people tremble.Evelyn held her breath while pressing tightly against the cold wall. She hid behind the curve of the corridor, she wouldn't dare make a sound. Her heart pounded wildly in her chest. She was sure he could hear it. She hadn’t meant to make a sound. She had been careful and quite calculated. She saw him.Leaving Selene’s room. Her mind was still trying to piece itWhy was the Alph

  • Forsaken by the Alpha   CHAPTER 8: SHADOWS IN THE MOONLIGHT

The moon casted a pale glow over the castle, behind it was the velvet sky which carried a deep secret.Alpha Damian sat in his cold room, the weight of his responsibilities pressing against his chest. His gaze was fixed on the flickering flames of the fireplace, but his mind was obviously on something else. On SeleneNo matter how he tried to take his mind away from her, an unseen force called unto him like a siren song in his head. It was something that couldn't be ignored. He ran his hands through his hair in frustration, The Moon Goddess indeed had a lot of questions to answer because this was getting out of hand. The night has long begun and he couldn't seem to have a quiet night rest without her thought pounding in his head. And no matter how he tried to push these thoughts away, he found himself sinking deeper.Selene's room was dimly lit by the shadows the moon cast through the window. She curled up on her small wooden bed, her chest rushing and falling in the steady rhythm of

  • Forsaken by the Alpha   CHAPTER SEVEN

Selene's heart was racing as she walked towards Alpha Damian's quarters. Getting a summons from Alpha Damian was never a thing. She dried her sweaty hands on her shabby dress trying to calm herself down. Her mind was filled with questions. Why does the Alpha want to see me? Have I done something wrong this time?As she approached the door, she heard noises coming from the inside. It sounded like people were talking softly and there were strange sounds too. Her feet stopped moving for a second. Then Alpha Damian's voice called out. "Come in."Selene waited for a moment before opening the door. What she saw made her feel cold all over. Alpha Damian was standing near his bed. His shirt was open. Seraphina, the woman he was supposed to marry, was standing close to him, their lips locked into each other. The room felt really tense. Selene's stomach chunned, She couldn't breathe.Seraphina turned around. She looked really furious. "What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice mean."I was

  • Forsaken by the Alpha   CHAPTER SIX

The packhouse was alive with its usual chaos, the scent of roasted meat and fresh bread wafting through the halls in Silver Moon Castle. Selene moved quietly, her steps light as she carried a basket of freshly laundered clothes toward the dining hall. Her shoulders ached from scrubbing the heavy linens earlier, but she kept her head down, avoiding the gazes of the pack members milling about.A few muttered insults reached her ears, familiar taunts she had long learned to ignore. Selene’s grip tightened on the basket, her nails digging into the rough fabric. She wanted to snap back, to defend herself, but she knew better. Here, words of defiance only brought more trouble. She slipped into the kitchen, placing the basket on a corner table. The warmth of the room wrapped around her like a blanket, the crackling fire in the hearth offering a brief reprieve from the cold stares outside. For a moment, she allowed herself to breathe, to let the weight of the day fall away. But it wasn’t en

  • Forsaken by the Alpha   CHAPTER FOUR

The din of voices in the dining hall rolled over Selene like a crashing wave. The clinking of silverware against porcelain and the low hum of laughter and conversation created a backdrop of indifference that Selene had grown used to. Her hands trembled as she carried the heavy tray, laden with plates of food she wasn’t allowed to touch, to the Alpha’s table. Her arms ached, but the fear of faltering was stronger than the pain. The Alpha sat at the head of the table, his presence commanding the room without effort. Damian Stormcrest didn’t need to raise his voice to remind everyone who held the power here. His gaze swept over the room like a predator surveying its domain, sharp and calculating. Selene avoided his eyes, lowering her head as she placed the dishes carefully in front of him and the others seated around him.“Faster, girl,” snapped Beta Liam, his voice laced with irritation. His words cut through Selene like a blade, sharp and deliberate. She flinched but didn’t look up.
