Anna’s Point of View still

“Never again! This is the last time! I swear!”

I threw myself onto the back seat of the car, the tears streaming in hot rivulets down my cheeks. This humiliation cut deep, it had broken something fundamental inside me.

Going through a broken mate bond three times was utterly devastating, I’m telling you! The pain was a familiar ache, but each time it cut sharper, stabbed deeper.

“Anna!” Amy cried out in panic beside me. “What did he do to you? Don’t tell us he rejected you, a minute after he found you!”

She looked out the window, her eyes blazing a fierce, dangerous red.

When she made a move to get out to confront Ettire, I quickly grabbed her hand, my fingers digging into her arm. Amy, like Jor, was still just a rankless wolf in my pack, completely unprepared to face an Alpha, even one as mentally deeply wounded as Ettire. Their courage was admirable, but utterly

"And you? Where are you traveling to?" The Alpha's probe was the million-dollar question.I admit, I had bought my ticket in a frenzied, last-minute search, looking for the farthest destination from America, a continent where Atticus could easily reappear before me. His imprisonment in the Kingdom was meant to be secure, but I also knew what he was capable of. A man who had more than once effortlessly escaped a maximum-security prison, a cage built for monsters, could do it again. I had to assume he would. The Alpha still looked at me, a slow, knowing smile spreading across his face as he observed my hesitation. "The flight we're both on is going to Latin America," he informed me. "But if you truly want to be untraceable, run from the ghosts in your life, I suggest you come with me on my private jet. No customs checks, just you, me, and the pilot. Completely off the grid." My head snapped u

After an emotional farewell to Jor, the long drive back to the villa felt steeped in a suffocating silence. The moment I stepped out of the car, the warm, salty air that had once felt so welcoming now carried a chilling sense of desolation. I stood on the sprawling terrace, a place where Atticus and I had shared so many nights, and the beauty of the scene, the gentle, rhythmic lapping of the river against the shore and the soothing green expanse of the forest, was now a cruel mockery. This house, this life, had been a lie. A beautiful, meticulously crafted lie. My time here felt like a vivid, all-consuming dream, intense and fleeting. It was in this very house that my pups had been conceived, in a bed that had felt like a sanctuary of love. But the central figure in that dream, the man I had believed in so completely, was not who he seemed. The Hawk, Atticus, was a liar, a betrayer, a murderer.

This last encounter with the Beta, and his warning about his pack’s potential investigation, left no room for hesitation. I had to leave. Not after more restless night of weighing consequences or hoping for a shift in fate, I had to disappear, quietly and completely, before Atticus knew about the new lives in me. The Beta would find him. Of course he would. He’d tell him everything, that I knew who he truly was, that I’d uncovered the identity he’d buried beneath his mask and charm, that I’d seen through the lies he spun so effortlessly. I didn’t know the full story behind his imprisonment, and maybe I never would, but I knew what he was capable of. Axel’s death had already proven that. Axel, my first love, the one whose absence still felt like a wound that refused to close. Atticus had taken him from me, and with that act, he had severed any possibility of redemption. I hated him. I hated the memor

The sound of sharp claws scrambling rapidly over the stone wall shattered my fragile peace. I strained my senses, desperately trying to pinpoint the scent of the approaching visitor to prepare myself for either a friend or a foe. The sound was too quick, too efficient, for a simple animal. My heart hammered against my ribs, a familiar beat of dread, as the noise grew closer, ascending the side of the building with unnatural speed. Before I could even identify what I might be dealing with, a massive, muscular wolf appeared on the ledge before me, his powerful physique taking up what felt like the entire space of the balcony. He was a high-ranking, I knew instantly. His sheer size and commanding build had a strange familiarity, a resemblance to the Lycans I had met just yesterday. His presence radiated authority, but it was tinged with an undercurrent of desperation that I couldn't place.

Anna’s Point of View still It was already a small miracle that Jor and I were able to temporarily push our personal problems to the background during Amy's Luna and mating ceremony. Joy and reverence pulsed through the air, vivid and alive, so unlike the quiet storm of unease tightening in my gut. The ceremony itself had been a beautiful, sacred affair. Held in a grand clearing nestled at the edge of the Crescent Moon territory, the space was adorned with twisting vines, delicate white flowers, and lanterns that cast a soft, ethereal glow as dusk fell. The entire pack was in attendance, their faces radiating happiness for their new Luna. Amy looked breathtakingly beautiful in a gown that shimmered like moonlight, and the love in Henrich's eyes as he spoke his vows was so pure it was almost blinding. The ceremony was a testament to the strength and beauty of the mate bond, and for a few precious hours, I al

"Jor, is it Manager Andrew?" I asked, a thin veil over the panic in my own mind. "Girl, you're in big trouble. If his wife finds out about this, you're going to be in a world of hurt!" My words were a desperate attempt to deflect attention, to get a momentary stay of execution for myself. What explanation did I have for my friend for keeping my relationship with the Hawk a secret? And how could I possibly confess that I had been deceived and fallen in love with my fated mate's murderer? I knew she would be so disappointed in me, I didn't know if my actions could be forgiven or if our friendship could survive this. Jor's face cracked with naked emotion, her shoulders slumping in defeat. Her eyes began to well with tears, and a deep sob escaped from her chest. The mask she had been wearing finally shattered, revealing the deep pain underneath. "Anna, my life is a complete mess," she confessed, thick with emo
