**Chapter Three **
*Damien’s POV*
The sound of my boots echoed off the marble floors as I stormed out of my office and into the sprawling halls of the mansion. My wolf, Orion, snarled incessantly in my head, demanding answers I didn’t have. How could the Moon Goddess curse me with someone so... beneath me? A stripper? The humiliation was enough to make my blood boil.
“Damien, where are you going?” Zayn’s voice trailed behind me, calm but firm.
I didn’t stop. “Out.”
“Out? To where? You’ve been pacing like a caged beast for hours. Talk to me, man. What’s going on?”
I halted abruptly, spinning on my heel to face him. If there's one thing about my Beta was his stubborn nature, he was always persistent until he got what he wanted. but not this time. My glowing amber eyes locked onto his, and I saw him stiffen. “If I wanted to talk, I would have called you. Back off, Zayn.”
He didn’t flinch, the stubborn bastard. “This is about her, isn’t it? Your mate.”
His words hit like a bullet, and for a second, I froze. My fist slammed against his chest, shoving him back hard enough to make him stumble.
“Who the hell told you that?” I growled, my voice dipping into dangerous territory.
Zayn straightened, brushing off the attack like it was nothing. “You think I can’t see it? The anger. The restlessness. The way you’ve been snapping at everyone like a rabid dog since you came back with your friends from that …that club? It’s obvious, Damien.”
Before I could rip into him further, a sharp voice interrupted.
“So, the rumors are true.”
My father’s presence filled the room like a storm cloud. His sharp gray eyes bore into me as he stepped forward, his posture commanding even in his age.
I clenched my jaw. “What rumors?”
“That you’ve found your mate.”
I scoffed and turned away from him. “It’s none of your damn business.”
“It is my business Damien,” he said sharply, his tone cutting through the tension like a blade. “You’re the Alpha of this pack. Everything you do reflects on us. So, tell me, who is she?”
I stayed silent, my hands curling into fists.
When I didn’t answer, he turned to Zayn. “Well?”
Zayn hesitated, glancing at me for permission. I shot him a glare, but my father’s Alpha authority was stronger, even now. There was no way he would lie to my father especially when his eyes were blazing like that and imposing the Alpha aura on him. Why was this old man still alive in the first place? I cursed at my thoughts and Zayn opened his big mouth.
“She works at the Lunar Lust Club,” Zayn admitted reluctantly. “She’s a stripper.”
The silence that followed was deafening. My father’s expression darkened, his disappointment palpable.
“A stripper?” he repeated, his voice low and dangerous. “The Moon Goddess paired you with a stripper?”
I snapped, “Don't ever call my mate a stripper, she works there doesn't mean that she's a stripper!” I told my father, hating how that defence came smoothly from my tongue, Fuck Orion! That damn wolf controlled me.
“You don’t get to reject her, Damien,” he said firmly. “ I know you're obviously irritated that she's working in some place like that but do you have any idea what will happen if you do? Half your power will transfer to her, leaving you weaker than a rogue. The Pack will lose faith in you. And don’t forget the political ramifications—”
“I don’t need a lecture,” I interrupted, my voice sharp as I avoided his gaze.
“You do if you’re stupid enough to reject her,” he shot back. “You have five days to bring her here and introduce her to the Pack . If you don’t, I’ll strip you of your title and give it to Zayn’s son.”
My head snapped up, rage flaring in my chest as I imagined the young boy being crowned Alpha in my place “You wouldn’t dare do that to your son! You’d really throw away your own son for a woman?”
“No, Damien,” he said coldly. “I’d throw away a fool who thinks he’s above the laws of nature.”
The weight of his words settled in my chest, but I didn’t let it show. He turned to leave but paused at the door.
“And don’t forget,” he added, “your mother and sisters still live in Lupine City. If you lose your position, you lose the ability to protect them. Think about that before you make any reckless decisions.”
I kept my expression unreadable as he walked out, but the reminder stung like a fresh wound.
As much as I resented them, they were still my blood. And I would never allow anyone to use them against me.
He turned and left, leaving a suffocating silence in his wake.
Zayn sighed, running a hand through his hair. “You know he means it, right? He doesn’t bluff.”
“Shut up,” I snarled, storming past him.
“Where are you going now?”
“To handle this,” I growled. “Don’t follow me.”
**Lunar Lust Club**
The neon sign of the club glared at me like an accusation as I pulled up in front of it. The place reeked of cheap alcohol and desperation, and I hated every second of being here.
I shoved the door open, the bass of the music pounding in my ears. The bartender froze mid-pour when he saw me, his eyes wide with recognition.
“Where’s your boss?” I demanded, my voice cutting through the noise.
“H-he’s in the back,” the bartender stammered, pointing toward a door.
I didn’t bother knocking. I kicked the door open, the wood splintering under the force. The club owner, a greasy middle aged man named Vince, jumped to his feet, his face pale.
“Alpha Damien,” he stammered. “What an honor—”
“Shut up,” I snapped. “Where’s Ivory?”
He blinked, confused. “Who?”
“The stripper who danced for me two nights ago. Where is she?”
Realization dawned on his face, and he quickly shook his head. “She left the city, Alpha. She said she wouldn’t be coming back—”
I was across the room in a heartbeat, my hand wrapping around his throat. I slammed him against the wall, the cheap drywall cracking under the force.
“You expect me to believe that?” I growled, my voice deadly. “Tell me where she is, or I’ll rip your throat out.”
“I-I swear, I don’t know!” he choked out. “She was saving up to leave—she didn’t tell anyone where she was going!”
My grip tightened. “You’re lying. Repeat that again and your head would kiss the ground while I cut off your silly dick!”
“I swear on my life!” he gasped. “Her real name is Serena Vales—that’s all I know, I swear!”
I dropped him unceremoniously, and he crumpled to the floor, gasping for air.
“You’re fucking useless,” I muttered.
“Wait! Please, Alpha! I’ll do anything—”
I spun around, my eyes glowing with fury. “You want to do something? Fine. I’m buying this dump. Fifty million dollars. Sign the papers, and get out of my sight. If I ever see your face again, I’ll feed you to my wolves.”
His jaw dropped. “F-fifty million?”
“Did I stutter?”
He scrambled to his feet, nodding frantically. “I’ll sign right now!”
Within minutes, the deal was done. The club was mine, and Vince was gone. I can't have news flying around that my mate works for Vince as a damn stripper. Spending so Much already for a little slut.
Owning this place gave me control. Control over her past, her movements, and every damn thing connected to her.
If she ever stepped foot in this city again, I would know. If she came here to this Psycho, I'll know as well and kill him for existing in the first place for her to even think of meeting him.
As I drove back to the mansion, the anger simmering in my chest didn’t fade. I hated her. Hated that she had this hold over me, this strong fucking urge and protection just bloomed from nowhere, Hated that she was turning my life upside down.
“She’s not worth it,” I muttered to myself.
But even as I said the words, I couldn’t stop thinking about her. Serena Vales. My mate. Her damn perfect body under the neon lights.
‘You’ll regret it if you reject her.’ Orion growled in my head and I hissed.
I clenched the steering wheel, my mind racing. Five days. That’s all I had to figure this out.
Five days to decide if I would keep her—or destroy her
**Chapter Four***Serena’s POV*The room felt too small, too suffocating. I had packed everything I could possibly carry in the box, the last of my clothes folded neatly inside. I was leaving, and there was no turning back. No more hiding. No more pretending this place, this family, was my home. I had tried. For years, I had tried to belong. But in the end, I was just the weak Omega, the nobody, the invisible girl in the house that no one cared for. My stepmother’s sneers, my stepsisters' jabs, the countless rejections from four different mates… all of it had chipped away at me until there was nothing left but an empty shell. And Damien... I could still feel the sting of that night , the way he had looked at me like I was just another one of his toys, ordered out of his presence without a second glance. His words were like daggers in my mind. “Get out. I don’t want you here. You’re nothing but a slut.” I imagined him saying that in his mind.I was nothing. I knew that. No one would
** Five ***Damien’s POV*Few hours ago, The drive was uncomfortable, every mile feeling like an eternity as I wrestled with my thoughts. Zayn, my loyal beta, had given me the location of Serena Vales, and while I should have felt a sense of duty to find her, all I could feel was unease. The place wasn’t unfamiliar to me, but that didn’t make it any easier. My mother lived there. The same woman who abandoned me in a dumpster like I was nothing. The same woman who had wanted nothing more than to be Luna to a powerful Alpha, only to end up a mere beta's mate. The irony of it all hit me like a punch to the gut.It was a place I had avoided for years, my father’s constant preaching about letting go of grudges falling on deaf ears. But my beta insisted it was the right place, and so, against every ounce of my will, I nodded and told him to take me there. I gripped the seat beneath me as the house grew closer, the dark clouds overhead mirroring the storm brewing inside me. When Zayn parke
Chapter Six (Damien’s POV) The penthouse was silent except for the distant hum of the city below. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed the night skyline, the twinkling lights stretching endlessly, but Serena wasn’t looking at them. She sat stiffly in the oversized leather chair, her arms wrapped around those sexy breasts I badly wanted to feel and stretch like a protective shield. Even in the dim lighting, I could see the way her fingers dug into her arms, her breathing shallow, her shoulders tense. She was scared, even my wolf could feel it—but too damn stubborn to admit it. Her eyes darted around the room as her expression shifted between confusion and disbelief. I could practically hear the questions running through her head, and sure enough, her voice broke through the heavy silence, laced with something between anger and desperation. “Why?” she whispered, her voice hoarse, as if she hadn’t spoken in hours. “Why are you doing this? And how the hell are you connected to my family
Chapter Seven Serena’s POV* I clenched my fists hard, hating the fact that he was right. Because a mere looking at him, what he was was far worse that the rumours I've heard and what has circulated about him. But there's no world worse than being caged in my father's house, a home where my sisters made it a routine to ruin my life and where my stepmother makes a leach out of me. “And why the hell is that? Because you’re a big bad Alpha Mafia?” I shot back, my anger barely contained. “Or because you think your money can buy anyone, even me?” Damien exhaled slowly, his eyes darkening. “No, because as long as you’re alive, you’re a risk to me. No one can know that we share a connection , or blood. If they do, I lose everything and your life would be in danger…and of course everyone has a Price.” His voice was calm, but there was an underlying threat in it. I flinched. The weight of his words pressed down on me. I wasn’t just some random girl caught in his web—I was a danger to h
Chapter Eight. Serena’s POV The Pack I had always seen on the news looking so grand, so powerful like a fortress of strength was nothing like the nightmare before me now. My rib cage was in pains at the mare sight of what was going on before me. The air was thick with gunpowder, choking my lungs as I inhaled the chaos. The sky which were littered with stars, was now a swirling mess of black smoke and red flames licking at the edges of the Pack houses. Screams echoed in the distance, blending with the relentless gunfire that rattled through the air. The scent of burning wood mixed with the sickly metallic tang of blood made me bite my tongue hard but I didn't feel pain. What on earth have I gotten myself into? But then…. A loud crack shattered the windshield. I let out a scream as the glass exploded into a million sharp pieces and pierced My skin, My arms flew up instinctively, but before I could react, a large, clawed hand shot through the broken window and yanked me out of
Chapter Nine Damien’s POV Her scream startled me.I just wanted to smash his brain to pieces but I was a fool for thinking that she would take that lightly seeing how shaken she was.“You can breathe now Princess, I won't do it.” My jaw twitched as I saw the Numskull that caused this while scenario.I knew exactly where the attack had come from. Vincent Kane, The bastard was bold and very reckless,to think that I expected him to try something eventually, but this? Attacking my Pack? Dragging my mate into it before she even had a chance to set foot in my world properly? That was a whole new level of stupidity. Not that I gave a damn about her. Serena was only my redemption to the throne. A means to an end. The one thing keeping me from losing my claim over Syndicate Fangs. And yet… Something inside me twisted at the thought of her seeing this side of me or that wasted pig fucking her through his eyes. My wolf growled low in my head, pacing with irritation. “She’s our mat
Chapter Ten Serena’s POV I woke up feeling... different. Not necessarily better, but at least I wasn’t shaking anymore. The room I was in was enormous—easily ten times the size of my actual room back in Lupine Pack. Everything about it screamed wealth. From the high ceiling with a crystal chandelier to the massive windows draped in velvet curtains, to the dark wooden floors and a bed so soft I could sink into it for days. I pushed myself up, rubbing my eyes as the memories of last night flooded back. The attack. The gunfire. Vincent Kane. And Damien. The beautiful monster who barely batted an eye at the chaos around us. The Psychopath who made me tremble at his touch shamelessly and begged, no man, none of my mates brought out such a desire in me.I shivered in self disgust and tried to look for guilt in me but my wolf snapped at me, letting me face the reality that this psychopath was our mate. I was here. In his world. And there was no way out. I glanced at the bedside
CHAPTER ELEVEN Damien’s POV “What the fuck are you doing?” I couldn't hide my irritation as it simmered through my voice. I know I was a clusterfuck when it comes to my desires but she broke every resolve last night, fuck this silly bond but if there's one thing I knew about Serena was she was always moody and feisty with me, she never smile but always ready to stuck a dagger in my what if give the opportunity. She wasn't supposed to come to my Pack and witness a blood bath, that was totally unacceptable and uncalled for and may the Moons help them to be found, I'll show them massacre. And the moment I stepped into the living room, my jaw locked. Serena was laughing. Not just laughing but glowing. Her eyes were bright, her body language open as she sat across from my father, talking animatedly about something I didn’t care to understand. She looked so damn comfortable. It pissed me off. She had never once looked at me like that. Never smiled at me like I was something worth her at
Damien's Pov We had barely reached the warehouse when the wind carried the smell of smoke long before we saw the flames.Something felt off even before I left and I hated it. That eerie, cold twist in my gut. It wasn’t even about the fire. It wasn’t the silence on the line when I tried to call Serena for the fourth damn time. It was like my soul was pulling me in the opposite direction. I clenched my jaw, scanning the road as we drove. My wolf was restless, pacing under my skin, whispering her name like it was the only word left in the universe.I suddenly pulled the brakes hard.“Zayn,” I muttered, gripping the wheel tightly. “You need to go back.”Zayn’s brows pulled together. “We’re almost there, Damien. Don’t start.”“I’m serious. Go back.”“Why? So you can walk into hell alone? No.” He crossed his arms with his jaw firm.“Zayn—”“No,” he snapped. “This attack is mine too. You keep pushing me back like I’m some damn coward. I’m your Beta, not your bodyguard.”I slammed the door o
Serena's Pov They all left in a hurry, rushing like any more second would make everything collapse. Before I could puzzle it out, a familiar voice made my blood run cold."Well, well. Look who's back."I turned to find my stepsisters, Elena and Sloane, emerging from the shadows of the corridor. They'd been suspiciously quiet all day, and now I understood why—they'd been waiting and plotting theirs as if it would be any different."Where have you two vipers been hiding?" I asked, instinctively taking a defensive stance.Elena smirked, tossing her long blonde hair over her shoulder. "Watching you ruin everything, as usual. You really are a witch, aren't you? Poor Damien isn't even thinking straight anymore because of you.""Fuck off," I growled. "I don't have time for your games.""Oh, we can't do that," Sloane purred, stepping closer. Her sleek black hair framed a face that could have been beautiful if not for the cruelty in her eyes. "Not when you've made such a terrible mistake.""
Serena's Pov “I'll be back Damien, please just a moment with–”“I don't bloody care, don't fucking leave that door with Vincent!” He roared at me like a mad animal and my heart twisted, could he not think of it that way. I needed to talk to Vincent too, I need to confirm and set things right not to cause any misunderstanding and seeing that he was blind to all of that, I held Vincent's hand and walked outside l.The moment we stepped outside the mansion, Vincent grabbed my arm and shoved me against the rough stone wall. His eyes glowed amber as his wolf pushed to the surface, teeth elongating as he snarled in my face."What the fuck are you doing staying with Damien when we clearly had an agreement?" he growled, his breath hot on my face.I pushed back against his chest, refusing to be intimidated by his silky tantrums and fake concerns.. "It wasn't an agreement, Vincent. I was forced to say those things because of the situation and you freaking know that."His laugh was cold and hol
Damien's PovI couldn't help the smile that spread across my face when Serena slapped Ivy so hard she toppled off her chair. My little mate had fire in her and it's precisely what this pack needed in a Luna. Watching her drag Ivy back up by that ridiculously expensive dress and threaten her sent a surge of pride through my chest. If only she'd hit her again."Please, Alpha," one of the maids sobbed, falling to her knees before me. "We don't want to die. Have mercy!"Another was hunched over a decorative vase, emptying the contents of her stomach. The sound of retching filled the dining hall as panic spread among them like wildfire. Their faces had gone pale, eyes wide with terror—all because they believed I'd poisoned them.Fucking Fools. All of them."Get up," I commanded, my voice cutting through their pathetic cries. "I haven't poisoned anyone."The room fell silent except for a few hiccuping sobs."What?" one of them whispered, voice trembling.I leaned back in my chair, enjoying
Serena’s Pov My heart pounded in my chest as I watched Damien interact with the maids. The easy smile on his face, the way he laughed at their jokes, the casual touches—it all seemed so genuine that for a moment, I questioned whether I had misunderstood his intentions.“I meant behaviours for the benefit of this pack, don't worry please eat up.” He smiled but it was the fakest thing I've ever noticed"More wine, Alpha?" one of the maids simpered, leaning forward to give him a better view of her cleavage."Thank you, Lily," Damien replied smoothly, holding out his glass. His eyes flickered to mine briefly, and I caught a hint of something mischievous beneath his charming facade. When he caught me staring, his lips curved into a knowing smirk. I quickly looked away as heat rushed to my cheeks. This whole situation was making me uneasy. One minute he was declaring me as his mate, and the next he was flirting with the maids who had tormented me for months. What game is he playing? I wond
Serena's Pov I didn't know what Damien was up to but I leaned against the dining room doorway, watching the scene unfold with a mixture of disbelief and growing unease. The maids who had been in the dungeon, especially the very same ones who had sneered at me now sat around the Alpha's dining table dressed in clothes that probably cost more than everything I owned combined."Look at her face," one whispered loudly enough for me to hear. "She finally realizes her time is over."Another snickered. "After all, why would the Alpha keep her around when he's chosen someone worthy of his status?"I bit my lip hard, the metallic taste of blood filling my mouth with my wolf growled inside me. I shouldn't be standing her like this, I'm already tired of their rants and accusations thrown at me.“Keep calm”, I told my wolf This might be nothing serious.“Nothing serious?” my wolf scoffed. “ Open your eyes, Serena. Look around you.”The dining hall had been transformed. Crystal glasses sparkled u
Serena I couldn’t breathe at all.The weight of his words to Ivy played on repeat in my head like a broken, cursed record. “Wear something nice.” My heart cracked again. No matter how I tried to push it away, that sentence kept clawing at me. Was that what he said to me the first time he wanted me? Was that all I was to him? A pretty object to show off? A fucking costume to undress at night and forget by morning? My wolf growled deep inside me. She was seething, pacing in fury. Ivy? That traitorous she-wolf? That plastic, wide-smiled seductress who once watched me get whipped and laughed? My claws almost pushed through my skin as I bit my lip to stop myself from crying out.I shot up from the bed, not even caring that I was wearing nothing but one of his oversized black shirts that barely reached mid-thigh. No bra. No slippers. My bare feet hit the cold marble like a damn storm. Let them stare, Let them see the supposed "Luna" of the most feared Alpha in the werewolf world march thr
Damien’s POVI woke up to the feel of her heartbeat against my chest.Serena.She was curled up beside me, her lashes fluttering slightly in her sleep, her scent was so calm and innocent. My jaw twitched just looking at her. It wasn’t right, none of this was at all.She should never have gone through what she did beginning from this Pack, the kidnapping, accusations and threats from my own father. And definitely not Vincent. The thought of that bastard proposing to her made my blood boil. If I ever saw him again, I wouldn’t stop at just breaking bones.I brushed her hair back gently from her cheek and kissed her forehead. She let out a soft sigh and pressed in closer, mumbling something I couldn’t quite hear. My fingers curled around her waist, holding her tight. I hated that she lost the camera. Not because it was the only evidence we had, but because of how broken she looked when she told me. A soft vibration buzzed against the nightstand. I reached for my phone.Zayn: The maid
Serena's Pov The moment I entered the room, I froze at the sight before me, my body refused to move and my mind screamed at me to run and throw myself into his arms and tell him everything. But I couldn’t even breathe properly when his entire body was covered in blood, his knuckles were dripping red and his chest heaving with the rage he hadn't fully shaken off yet. He insisted on knowing about everything and I couldn't close my big mouth, I told him about everything that happened and his eyes blazed with a fury that made him look like a demon sent straight from hell. A demon who would burn the whole world down for me. “I'm so sorry Serena, I won't let you get hurt again.” He grabbed my face roughly, tilting my head up so he could see every broken emotion in my eyes and crashed his lips down on mine in a kiss that was wild and desperate, all teeth and tongue and agony. He kissed me like he was drowning and I was the only air he needed to survive. “Are you hurt?” he rasped a
